I really wanted the LG CD/DVD Writer instead, but settled for this one because it was what they had in stock. The box came with everything needed including a SATA cable. The installation of this drive was a bit difficult, but it eventually was seated properly.

We bought a Harmony remote for several reasons but it doesn't currently control the DVD. I don;t know if the installers forgot the setup or it just mot work. WE will probably have to call for help in the setup. We manually got it to work without much trouble

With mother boards these days having just SATA connections, you really don't have a choice but buy a new DVD player. At least the price is way down!

Works great once installed. It was just a bit tricky to install. Luckily my husband had just helped his brother-in-law install a disc drive, so remembered what needed to be done when we ran into similar issues with the installation.

I got two hp dvd burned and the last one I got the lifetime was very short compare to the other one, I bought a new one hope not to experience the same, but are good great speed.

Good product and easy to find when looking for it but came with an unessassary disk for installation, you can just manually enable it in the boot options

Exactly what I expected from HP. Good instructions, easy to install and nice software. Just what was needed to upgrade an HP refurbished machine from a basic DVD/CD to an all format burner.

Bought this because my old one wouldn't open anymore. It opens it plays DVD's and loads programs. It got me 25 reward points otherwise I would have waited another 6 months.

Purchased to replace DVD and CD player/ burner. Easy replacement and installation. Ran without a hitch. Good choice for hardware replacement.

I have had this product for a few months now and have not had any problems. It works great and records at a great rate. I would highly recommend this product.

Great replacement for a dead HP optical drive, this model will fit most tower and mini-tower cases that has an empty full size hard drive bay.

I asked for an external CD/DVD writer to go with the laptop I purchased the same date. Technician assistant pulled box, said all I had to do was plug it in, it was ready. I questioned again and said, are you sure. This does not look right. He said yes it is. I said I didn't have a tower. It's for the laptop. He said it would work. I returned it. Only recommend that the young man who assisted me on this date study the products.

We had to replace the old DVD drive. This new one is fine but I am disappointed that we needed to replace the old one so soon, after 1/2 year.

My old Premio was bought at CompUSA in Anaheim and it will be used in another one before 2020.

Needed a CD-RW Drive, this one was on clearance, the guy at Best Buy said it was good, so I bought it. No problems so far.

I needed this drive because my new mobo didn't have an IDE slot. This fit perfectly and has performed as expected with no issues.

Needed a drive to bring a system from the grave. Nice BB does supply components...love to see ya sell mb's and such.
