I have been using for about a month ... would recommend to friend!

This is a decent product, but it is a bit slower than I expected it to be. The time it takes to print is annoying. It's not good for large production on "home" DVD writer. Nevertheless, this is a good quality DVD writer, and perfectly fine for single or small projects

I purchased this item off the shelf at the store, the box had the seal still on it. I opened the box and installed it in my computer. A few days went by and I needed it to install a program and that is when I found out it didn't work. I took it back to the store where I purchased it and that is when I found out it was not the same model as the box. What I bought was a HP dvd1265i but what came in the box was a HP dvd1260. I understand why they will not take it back but that don't help me in this case. In the future I will get my computer parts else where and if I have to go to Best Buy I will not buy anything until I open it and verify that what I am buying is what I am really getting.

Easy to install and comes with everything you may need to install it right in the box. Windows 10 found the drive and it worked perfectly at first power up. I was replacing a bad DVD burner in my older desktop system. The 1MB cache means smooth reads and writes with fewer spin ups for quiet operations. This drive costs a few bucks more but it is well worth it. The drive is SATA but an option exists to purchase an PATA to SATA converter if you need it.

I asked the sales rep multiple time if this was for external and since I didn't know anything and he seemed confident, I trusted him. Waste of time

The mounting holes do not line up with my computer case. Other than that it works fine.

So, chances are you won't have any problems with yours. I on the other hand, had one that was dead on arrival. Normally you can just go back to the store and get it replaced, even without a protection plan, but they for some reason could not do that with this particular product. I went into the store and they said I had to call the manufacturer for a "possible" replacement. The drive powered on but would not open.

geek squad person from behind counter told me I needed this for my laptop. ends up it's for a pc. wouldn't fit. that ment another trip to store, 2nd wait in line at geek squad not only to return but assc said to me "why would you buy that, it's for a pc". talk about rubbing it in. when I told him that's what I was told to buy, he smirked and said "really". also, there is always just one person in computer dept whenever you go in, while phone people are tripping over each other.i hate the Dedham store, it is so badly run. 2 days before Christmas, waited forever to buy an 2 xbox games because only 2 registers open.

Drive is easily installed and set by a untrained buyer. Just follow by the numbers (lines) of the instructions. Drive works very well and in fact was an upgrade from my original drive.

I needed a basic RW drive for a desktop computer with SATA connections. This drive slide right into the spare space, the cables connected fine. I do not need a high speed writer, and this was on sale. I have a system with win10. I used it now to burn about 30 DVD/CDs and all have worked well. I would recommend it to others.

This was added as a second dvd writer in my new Dell desktop running Windows 7. The read performance is 1/3 the rate of the the factory installed DVD drive. Using Nero speed test, the drive read speed is only about 3x. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. It made no difference.

Only three months before the clicks of death. A complete waste of money.
