Customers are saying
Customers find value in the large screen size, excellent price, and ease of use of the 27" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor. The clarity and design also receive positive feedback. However, some customers wish it included speakers and a sturdier stand, while others note the lack of a VESA mount and that the refresh rate is limited. The screen's susceptibility to glare is also a point of contention for some users.

Great Big Basic Monitor!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price it's available at now this monitor is practically a steal! It's huge, thin and very sleek for a 27" monitor, without feeling 'flimsy' at all. The stand is cool-looking as well (sort of Star Trekish) and very easy to put together---I didn't need any tools at all as hand-tightening was more than sufficient. Out of the box and plugged in and playing took maybe 15 minutes. I'm very impressed with how thin this monitor is--it looks amazing! It also barely has a bezel to it, so you're looking at all screen! The stand tilts up and down very easily--which I love since I'm 6'2" and need to tilt screens up most of the time to be a comfortable viewing angle. The ports are pretty limited, and there are no speakers installed which makes this a great option for a gaming monitor since I'm typically on headphones anyway (I also have separate computer speakers so wouldn't have used on-board speakers anyway). It's a great way to help keep the costs down so all the expense can go straight to the monitor. HP also includes two different connection wires--which is almost unheard of anymore! Most important, the picture is terrific. I have a 4k TV and I use that for movie-watching. I use my computer for work, family pictures and movies, and gaming. For me (as, I suspect, is the case for most gamers) 1080p is more than sufficient. The picture is sharp and beautiful, even on the most detailed games (Far Cry 5 looks stunning on this monitor) and the reaction time seems on the money, even though my video card is made by the 'other guys' (i.e. not AMD) which this monitor is made to be paired with. I can't imagine there's much of a difference. There are fairly in-depth controls, though I found them a pain to use. They're located on the right underside of the monitor, and are very awkward to try and toggle through since you have to have your hand facing upward to use them. My biggest annoyance with this monitor was how many times I accidentally hit the wrong button while trying all the different modes. Fortunately it's mostly "set and forget"--I put it on the gaming preset and found that looks great for everything I do, so I've just left it there. If you're looking for an expensive looking 27" monitor that delivers (especially for gaming),but don't want to pay the usual prices then this is the one for you!

Excellent IPS display with AMD FreeSync tech
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Today's monitors have really been upping their game in terms of baselining physical technology and offering value-added components to help differentiate themselves in the market. As such, if you're in the market for a overall, solid monitor, the HP 27f LED FreeSync monitor may be just for you. With its almost bezel-less design, the device itself gets out of the way of displaying up to HD-based visuals on screen. And with IPS manufacturing, there really is quite a wide angle of viewing for most images. AMD FreeSync is included with this model. Especially for gamers, FreeSync-equipped monitors allow more than simply bandwidth for video data to be shown; the tech essentially creates a synchronous connection with a similarly-licensed video card, allowing for a completely seamless video experience, with no stutter or image cutting, especially with fast-moving video of any type. One aspect of this monitor that is a slight drawback is that it can only be adjusted back-and-forth; the stand doesn't allow for height adjustments. Therefore, you may need to sit the monitor on some sort of stand or shelf if you need significant space underneath. Other than this limitation, I loved the fact that, besides VGA input, the monitor supports up to two HDMI ports. Overall, the HP 27f LED monitor represents a good buy in this segment.

Wobble Baby Wobble
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the amount I paid, I expected kind of a lot from this monitor. And don't get me wrong; the image quality is great! Combined with the graphics card I bought, everything looks wonderful. BUT. I'm using this monitor at my desk in my dorm. And the darn thing wobbles like it needs to pee any time I am typing faster than 1/2 a word per second. I've already double checked and ensured that the stand was installed correctly, but it just seems to be this monitor's unique way of moving. On top of that, the monitor has no speakers, so I've just been plugging straight into my computer. This is fine, but just an usual little detail I noticed. If you want to be able to hear email notifications, or just anything at all from the monitor, you're out of luck. If possible, I'm going to be swinging by BestBuy soon to exchange it for something with a sturdier stand and the capability to make sound.

Amazing image quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP - 27f monitor is great! I love the image quality. It is crisp and clear. Not only that, the HP - 27f monitor has a modern and elegant appearance to it. It compliments my Alienware gaming desktop. That being said, this monitor is used for gaming, as well as for homework. I am looking into buying a second monitor.
