Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the ENVY Desktop's performance, ease of use, and ample storage, frequently praising its speed and the inclusion of both an SSD and a hard drive. Many appreciate the value for the price and the quiet operation. However, some customers expressed difficulty adapting to Windows 10, and a few found the desktop's size to be somewhat large. The sleek design was also a point of positive feedback from some users.

A best buy employee told me it would have a GPU. he was wrong. Not only did it not have a gpu but the power supply isn't even capable of handling a modern GPU. I had to upgrade. This computer looks nice but it is a money hole.

This is a fair computer, what was not advertized is that is has a video card built into the the motherboard, and due to that it is not a good computer for watching videos, because it create a lag time When I call tech support they lied to me about the poor quality of the built in video card and tried to blame the internet service for streaming. With an external video card it streams video just fine. So don't buy if you want to stream T.V. or movies with your computer.

    Doesn't Work

My internet wasn't working well. It was intermittent. My devices worked part time. Finally one by one nothing worked--new computer, wi fi computer, phone, Magic Jack phone, lap top, etc. Finally, everything went out. I finally figured out that my modem wasn't working. It took a couple of weeks to get a new one. (I live in a very rural area. Now, my phone and old computer works but the new computer won't come on. I don't know why. I live out of the service area and it will cost me a lot to get it to work.

My only issue with this purchase is that the manufacturer says the warranty expired in March 2018 and I didn't purchase it until Aug. 2018. How did that happen?

    It's a miracle

I'm a senior citizen with very little technical knowledge, so the thought of setting up a new system was more than intimidating. Calling customer service reps for help is a hit or miss affair, so I actually hesitated about replacing my ancient desktop with a new one. As it turned out, the miracle is that I was able to set the whole thing up and even hooked up a printer and speakers to it without calling anybody. Trust me, that's a miracle because in the past I've spent endless hours on the phone when trying to set up a printer, router, modem, monitor, TV or any other electronic product. I did a considerable amount of research before buying this particular desktop, and made the decision to buy it when the price dropped. The difference in performance between this desktop and my old one is outstanding. Since I don't play games, this is way more of a system than I actually need. I haven't had the need to contact HP for help yet, so I can't comment on how good, or bad, their support is. I did read several reviews in which the reviewers commented on the lousy keyboard and mouse. I don't type very much, so the keyboard is not an issue for me. The mouse does what it supposed to do. I did keep my old keyboard and mouse, so if I can't tolerate the new ones I will simply use the old one. The fact that I was able to get this up and running in a matter of hours, instead of days, is truly a miracle. I highly recommend this desktop for young or old people.

HP desktop would not work with HP printer!

HP desktop computer would not recognize and install HP print drivers for an HP Laser printer. Took computer and printer to Best Buy store and Geek Squad spent 1 ½ to 2 hours working on setting-up the printer with no success. Was told I would have to call HP “customer service”. After 2+ hours on the phone with HP “customer service”, being transferred from one “service tech” (desktop group) to another “service tech” (printer group), being hung up on twice, I was finally told I needed to speak with the “service tech” for print driver coding. At this point I was transferred to another extension, the person who answered was speaking in a language I did not understand (German, I think), I said hello and I was hung-up on. At this point I packed up the HP computer and returned it to Best Buy for refund and ordered a new desktop computer. Best Buy and the Geek Squad people were great though this whole process. BUT HP “CUSTOMER SERVICE” IS NONEXISTENT! I will NEVER buy another HP product or recommend HP products to anyone!

Causes internet slow down. Took to Geek squad and 5 months later it did the same thing. Disconnect internet from it and speed goes back up on other computers. No one can seem to find the problem Geek on line 3 times and shop once. It is no only 2 years old.

Worked ok, but then started getting stalled at start up and we would have to reboot. 10 months in, won't even try to start. Greek squad says its the 103 watt power supply that failed. Seriously, 103 watts! Have to mail to HP for warranty service, which could take a month. Bought a 300 watt power supply for 40 dollars to have Geek Squad install since we use the computer for business and can't be without it that long. Put in power supply. Now they say motherboard is gone and have to ship computer to hp anyway. Can't even get a partial store credit for something else since it's over 6 months. Never buying hp again.
