Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the ENVY Desktop's performance, ease of use, and ample storage, frequently praising its speed and the inclusion of both an SSD and a hard drive. Many appreciate the value for the price and the quiet operation. However, some customers expressed difficulty adapting to Windows 10, and a few found the desktop's size to be somewhat large. The sleek design was also a point of positive feedback from some users.

User Area not on D drive/Unhappy with HP support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE: The User area is not on the larger disk drive. According to HP support, it can not be placed there. So what you have a computer with a small solid state drive with a larger drive just stuck off to side. The two drives to not interactive automatically. When I bought the computer, I assumed the most of the data would be stored on the larger drive with the operating system and the programs on the smaller SSD. I was surprised when I booted the machine to find the User area and all the associated libraries on the C drive. I assumed this was minor hickup and the spent a painful TWO HOURS on the phone with HP support (ticket 5009365447) only to be told by HP Level Two support that it was not possible to put the User on a different drive than the system. HP didn't seem to think this was a problem and they felt I should be happy manually dragging the data back and forth between the drives. It was a frustrating experience start to finish and I am returning the computer today.

0 for 2
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first one worked for a day, then wouldn't output through hdmi. Exchanged it and the replacement didn't either. Rapid tapping f12 during startup got me into the startup menu and resolved the no display. Went to restart (to finalize updates) and it's been frozen for 3 hours. After hard reset, the unit is dead. 2 machines dead within 12 hours of initial setup. This is not an isolated incident either. These hp machines are garbage and best buy knows it. That's why their return policy is 2 weeks.

Buyer beware - you may need a new monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really surprised and disappointed that this computer can only connect to a monitor using HDMI, not VGA or DVI. I had to replace my 2-year old, expensive monitor to find one that has a HDMI port. Very frustrated!
