Instant ink allows you to choose a delivery plan that fits your needs based on pages printed, not the amount of ink used. It doesn't matter if its black or color and this can be very cost effective when printing photos. I happily choose 50 pages at $2.99 month. I signed up for it with my printer purchase but then later I got an email saying my instant ink order had been cancelled then got an email a couple days later saying my instant ink way on the way. I really haven’t looked into it since my printer doesn’t need ink yet. Sorry I wasn’t more helpful

I love not running out of ink - by using this ink plan I never have to worry about printing half a picture anymore. This plan saves time and money in the long run. I like that the ink cartriges are displayed in the HP web page and tell me how many pages I have printed. Easy to see you monthly charge, your ink level, and pages printed. I would recommend this for people who print a lot of photos.

Finally, I truly don't need to worry about running out of ink and finding an open store at 10:30 pm on a Sunday night! I think this program is not only a time-saver (and life-saver to a high school mom) but it is also a money-saver. The cost of one year's subscription is less than one set of replacement cartridges. Bonus - no leaving the house, remembering ink numbers, or standing on line!
