cheap way to go if you don't print a lot

I need the type you just plug in and it works. No drama. It's still in the box because of the printer. HP hasn't supplied more ink. Don't like the system.

I don't print that much, and I was sent a refill before very soon after I purchased the printer and did not need it for a couple months (and only needed the black ink). After that, I kept getting emails that my printer could not be checked and that it should be left on. Well, I never turn the thing off, so it is always on standby. When I installed the first ink cartridge, I managed to print one or two things and then the printer informed me I had to sign up for instant ink (which I was already signed up for). I eventually figured out that turning the printer off then on again solved that particular problem. But the whole way this program works is basically that is does NOT work.

To be honest i crunched the numbers and it didn’t make sense to me to sign up at that level of frequency. May work for you though.
