    Hp ink subscription scam & HP disables printers

    Hp ink subscription is a scam — HP disables printer remotely to force purchase of new printer!!! Ink subscription and Printer replacement conspiracy!  My “old” hp printer suddenly stopped working after I installed brand new hp ink subscription cartridges. Now, these new cartridges are not authorized for use on new (same as old) printer. I believe one of the hp cartridges installed had an instruction embedded to disable my old printer (which was only 3 years old). It’s very interesting that, just before this, hp started sending me emails about adding a new printer to my monthly ink subscription (for additional $8/mo for same printer). Too coincidental — hp is always monitoring the printer, so I’m sure they can disable it. This will be my last hp printer.

    This is a scam!! I was told I have 6month free trial with instant ink, no you don’t. The HP app that monitor the printer doesn’t stay connected, and complicates the entire printing process. I didn’t received any ink because it constantly shows that I didn’t print anything witch it’s not true at all. I reached out to them multiple times, no reply. And to cancel this crap was very complicated and frustrated process.

    The Best Deal I Know Of

    This is the best deal ever! The price is modest and for an old man who doesn't want to go out, the convenience is unequalled. The printer is online, so new cartridges show up as needed with no effort on my part.

    Be sure that you really want this program. Printer won't work after you try to cancel the cartridge subscription later. HP raised the price on the cartridge subscription this year, too. I haven't been able to contact HP to get out from under this suboptimal deal.

    I love this I don't have to go out and buy at another store. It comes right to my door and I don't even have to call to order the printer itself does that for me . It detects when low and a shipment is sent right to my door before I run out . Thank you Best Buy !!!!! (And it is so low cost I love this !!!!

    Avoid. Waste of time and defective cartridges

    Awful. If you prefer to save a few bucks to try to use print cartridges that are defective and spend an hour on the phone each month trouble shooting with unhelpful customer service then this is the program for you! Seriously, this is a ripoff... I lost serious time and money. Much happier buying full priced cartridges and having a working printer when I need it.

    I signed up for HP Instant Ink with my previous HP printer, and again with my new HP Envy in Feb 2019. Loved it. Suddenly, without reason or notice, my subscription was cancelled in April 2019. Two months later. I didn't know it was canceled. I started having print issues that grew over the next few months. Started getting messages that read "Printer Blocked". Didn't know what that meant until I researched. >>HP was blocking all my print jobs from my new HP laptop and my Note 8 phone.<< FORGET calling HP customer service and getting help. You MIGHT end up connecting with a human in a Chat, but it will be worthless and a waste of time. They can't help you....In the middle of a Chat, without notice, you suddenly get "transferred" to a "Level 2 technician" and all your previous chat info is lost and you have to start all over. This happens over and over. FINALLY, I called the Best Buy Geek Squad and she worked with me for an hour, but it did NOT help. However, she tried everything. She was amazing. Tomorrow I will take my new laptop and my new printer to Best Buy and see if they can completely STRIP all info from HP INSTANT INK from my printer. ☆I purchased my own ink cartridges and installed them☆. I worked for an hour and am finally able to print from my Note 8 phone, BUT NOT MY LAPTOP. That's why I will take them to Best Buy tomorrow. Bottom line is if Best Buy can't fix it, I will be forced to get another printer. JUST BECAUSE OF HP INSTANT INK. When you read that they "hold your printer Hostage", THEY DO. They BLOCK your print jobs. Thing is....I have NO idea why my subscription was canceled in April 2019, just 2 months into the new program. None of this is my doing or my fault. I leave you with this EXTREME WARNING.....HP Customer Service will not talk to you on the phone. You can't reach anyone, ever. They will NOT resolve your problem. (Best Buy Geek Squad helped me).

    I don't shop for ink anymore

    I was skeptical at first but when the ink was delivered straight to my house before I knew I needed it, I began to understand how convenient this was. I don't print a lot but with the different plans they have it ends up being worth it.

    Easy to sign up, very convenient to manage. I particularly appreciate the online tools the program offers to visualize how much I print. The rollover pages easily cover any months I print extra.

    I gave one star because there was no zero star, bought my 4100 HP printer a year ago and never again would I ever buy a HP printer. Went on this instant ink thing because it sounded like a good deal ,I use the printer for a small business and need it when i need it. the first ink they sent didn't work ,had to run down and buy one, than they sent two more and when I needed them I put them in, and they wouldn't work, i went on line and they said I wasn't connected to the internet, and it was, I could send something and it would spit out a blank sheet, than they said it was because I wasn't using their instant ink, so they would not let me use my own printer, they highjacked my printer, sent them a note saying I was buying a new printer and it wouldn't be a HP, they replied saying there was a bad part in mine that was not available anymore and offered me a discount, No thank you, I bought a Epson tank, love it

    Worst service ever! Do not do it!!!

    This is the worst service ever!! Do not do it!! Supposedly they know when you are short of ink and send it. I ran out and had no ink. I called and was told it had been mailed and would arrive in 13 days!!! I run a law office- I cannot wait 13 days. So I went to Office Depot and bought ink. I then canceled the service since clearly it was not working and I would not have ink when needed. My ink showed up 13 days later and I proceeded to use it. Today my printer would not print because I canceled the service and was using the instant ink! I have two boxes of instant ink that I have to throw away because my printer will not print with their ink!! I would not have canceled if they would have sent the ink in a timely manner. I was charged for the late ink that I now have to throw away. This is a horrible service and I am going to write reviews everywhere I can find to warn others of this absurd situation!

    Disappointing Service/ Poor Response

    I have been a instant ink user for over 10 years. The product was great at the start of service, but upon buying my latest replacement printer we had a software issue where we received no ink for the new printer and a plethora form the old. Upon contact they mailed new ink billing for new and offering nothing for their error. The customer service has been horrible, not understanding problem, I suspect language barrier issues. I am ready to dump all my hp products. 3 calls many hours to resolve and I still get shafted in the end for their error lots of ink we had to pay for for them to fix issue, with no offer to credit for the error. We will be looking for a new service provider. Id pick another brand moving forward.
