    They need another plan

This works fairly well but hardly anyone will stay at the 50-page limit. Therefore you end up upgrading. I chose the 100-page plan which I go over every month. The problem is that HP needs another plan between the 100-page plan and the 300-page plan. I print over 100 pages per month, but I do not need anywhere near 300 pages. They have no method to share this thought with them, so I thought I would try this route.

    HP Ink is BIG mistake

I am sorry I choose to subscribe to HP Ink. When my printer stopped printing anything requiring BLUE - and after exhausting ways to repair, I decided give up and buy a new printer. I canceled my HP Ink subscription and planned to use the remaining cartridges until I could replace the printer. BUT, once I canceled the HP Ink subscription, HP locked my printer so I was not able to continue to print with "their" cartridges. Then to make matters worse, 5 days after HP locked my printer down, I was billed one more payment. I have purchased a new printer and it is NOT an HP.

Love the monthly membership and that it keeps up with how much printing I've done and send me toner before running out so I don't have to go to the store in the middle of the night because I ran out ink.

    HP Instant Ink Issues

HP Instant Ink Beware Once you cancel your HP Instant Ink subscription your ink cartridges will no longer work. So if you just received a new supply of Instant Ink cartridges after paying your monthly fees, they will not work after your subscription is cancelled. I guess if you don't mind being locked in to HP this program may work for you.

I was very pleasantly surprised on the ease of setting up the wireless connection. Does everything I want to do with minimum effort on my part to understand how to do it.

Still working on my first cartridge. I like the fact that these cartridges are much larger than the standard retail cartridge. I wxpect this was save a lot of $$ over course of year.

HP Instant Ink gives them too much control!

I've belonged to HP Instant ink for about two years now. I liked it at first. But then I tried to use a second printer in a different location for several months. After a couple of weeks of effort, I finally got the different printer unlocked, hooked up and working. Then I came back to my home printer..same trouble switching. Then I went back to my second printer in a different location, same problem. When I came back home this time, it all started again. So I cancelled. Or rather, I tried. I have been asking to cancel now for three months, resulting in four more monthly charges. They claim they didn't get the first notice, even tho' they sent me a survey asking why I was stopping. Yeah right! In the two years I belonged, I ended up paying way more than I would have, had I owned my own cartridges. I used to like HP. I am a lifelong fan and user of their products. But between this and the problems I've had with them, since switching to Windows 10?? I'm moving on to something better!

    HP Instant Ink

I would not recommend HP instant ink program. They sent me the wrong cartridges, they made it difficult to get replacements because they kept telling me I jadnt installed the cartridges they sent - which I explained were the wrong size and dint fit the printer. When I cancelled the plan they disabled my printing until I removed the new cartridges they finally sent. Its a money grab scam by HP. Terrible service.

After my first refill I did not get any had to call in; after weeks of low ink warning I cancelled service and was still bill. I would have save by purchasing ink on my own.

Value really depends on your printing behavior

I have had the instant ink subscription for 30 months now on the $2.99/mo 50 page subscription. I have been charged a total of $96 and printed 1375 pages. All this information is easily accessible in their portal. Here's where their program fails for me. 1. You get 50 pages per month on this plan and are charged $2.99/mo as long as you print 50 or fewer pages 2. For every 10 pages over that, you pay $1 3. You are allowed to roll over a maximum of 50 pages If you print 20 pages a month for a year, you will pay $35.88 and print 240 pages in a year. On the XL cartridges, you'll be able to print for 4 years at this rate, and pay $143.52 for ink that you could have purchased for $78 off the shelf. So, instead of paying 50% for ink as they advertise, you're actually paying 200% for it. We printed random combinations of 10 pages some months, and 150 pages others. Here's the kicker, and how HP failed. If they would have just rolled over unused pages, and continued to bill me $2.99 a month, I probably would have never even paid attention. Instead, the month that I print 150 pages, I received a $12.99 bill and raised my eyebrows. You see, I haven't even installed the cartridge yet that they sent me in January, because my printer doesn't seem to think it needs it, even though their program said I should, and sent it. When I saw that charge come through, I went in and did the math, and realized that for all the 10 page months I had printed, I received no benefit at all, and I was immediately charged 4 times a monthly fee on the one month that my kid had a large school project. And here's the worst part about their entire scheme. If you cancel your subscription, the IoT cartridges they sent you will stop working, and you get to go back to the store and purchase an off the shelf set to keep using your printer. So, here's the math for our house. - 1375 pages printed - $96 paid for the subscription - black and color cartridges sitting on the shelf for the last 6 months which will be unusable, because I just cancelled my subscription - Will have to purchase another $78 pair and send the unopened set back - Total cost $174 for $78 cartridges that state they can print 1015 pages. If your house prints exactly 45-50 pages a month, it may actually be a decent deal for you just in the convenience factor.. But it still doesn't come close to the 50% savings claimed.

There is no way I would go back to the "old" way of ordering ink. This is a perfect solution to an old problem - running out of ink. Not anymore!

I wasn't planning on getting this service since I only needed a simple printer. I got the HP envy 5660. Only a few days after signing up I reciecved my first ink set. This is great because I'm still using the original batch that came with the printer. It's nIce to be prepared. Your printer connects to the internet and monitores your ink levels. When they're low, it notifies the service for more. What more can you ask for. Perfect.

two years - I don't use my printer often so I got the lowest plan - then I had a big project that I working on and all the sudden I was being charged $80 fees. I soon find out they are not charging me for ink used but for how many pages I print. So be aware that you will be charged hefty fees for how much you print per page! PS I never reordered ink from them and still don't need it even after over two years of membership. this does not matter and after canceling they turn off the ink cartridge so you cannot use it. You have to replace with a store bought cartridges immediately!!! so awful serface!

HP Instant Ink Subscription is a SCAM!

THIS SERVICE IS A SCAM! 1. I spent $329.99 from May-Dec 2023. 2. I only recived one shipment of ink. 3. HP charges for evey paper your use and I buy my own paper and HP doesn't supply any paper with this subscription. 4. Your not paying for the ink you use, you pay for the MONTHLY USE OF YOUR OWN PRINTER. 5. If you cancel, even though you paid for the ink over and over, YOU NO LONGER CAN USE THE INK YOU ALREADY PAID FOR! HP SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR CONSUMER FRAUD!
