Beautiful Laptop - Poor Quality Control

This OMEN is beautiful; between the specs and the display, you can't beat the price. HOWEVER, I have a defected keyboard. The, "N" button does not work when typing with any sort of speed. Someone below in the reviews also had the same defective, so it obviously isn't an uncommon problem in these new models. HP support wasted 2 hours of my time before admitting it was defective. This is unacceptable for a $1,800 laptop. But I guess with the specs, the price was too good to be true. I never write reviews, but this has really disappointed me. Best Buy is sending me a replacement, but I don't have high hopes. If I'm proven wrong, I'll happily change my review.

Broken multi-key rollover. Ghosting. Keyboard doesn't work. Idk what you wanna call it, but this laptop will infuriate you if you type quickly. Great job HP, looks real pretty, good specs, etc. Too bad they opted for RGB keyboard before one where you can actually type more efficiently than on a mechanical typewriter.

I bought this laptop so I could have a high powered mobile computer for video editing and running Creative Cloud apps. I hate it. I got it all set up the way I wanted and tried working with it for a day or two but it is awful. I have had it for about a week and have been using my OLD $200 laptop that I bought solely for writing instead because this thing is just that awful. It produces a constant, high-pitched whining sound that is incredibly annoying. I don't know how can anyone work with this sound constantly going in the background. It drives me nuts! You would think that with a computer this pricey, HP would have figured out how to get rid of the whining sound. It's also slower than the $200 HP laptop that I use for writing. I'm returning it today. Pretty disappointed as this one looked great "on paper." Note: I also bought the high end Omen desktop tower and had the same problem with that one. It's going back to the store too. I don't recommend these products to anyone who won't be wearing noise canceling headphones every moment they have to use them.

Shipped me a used scratched up model! Had to take it back to the closest store. Was super excited to have my first gaming laptop and it did arrive two day’s early. But upon opening it up I could tell it had been repackaged really sloppily might i add as new. Didn’t even clean it up or try to package the product to make it look nice and presentable. I just got my money back because there was nothing at the store i could replace it with. Very disappointed with Best Buy!

Laptop completely dead after only 2 months of use. Experienced a strong smell of burning electronics during use and laptop suddenly powered off and won't turn back on. The product tag is written in such a small font that it's impossible to read the serial number, so unable to get online support from HP.

Only purchased 1.5 years, and the mother board is already broken, and need an additional $600 to $2000 to fix. What a trash!!!

Great For Photographers using AI software

Got it as a gift from wife who bought in BestBuy. My disclaimer is that I am NOT a gamer. Pros: - Screen: OLED 4K is not only beautiful and very color accurate - GPU: RTX 2070 Super is perfect for my needs. My old laptop was taking 23 minutes per picture with Topaz Sharpen AI, my daughter Dell XPS (2 yr old) about 8 minutes (i7 but no dedicated GPU). On this laptop it takes 8 seconds! - Expandability: I need a lot of storage for pictures and videos. I just popped in a new 2 TB Samsung SSD on second slot and now I have 3 TB. RAM is expandable also (3200 Hynix). Cons: - Battery life: I get about 2-3 hours with Office or Web brousing -Screen: screen touches keyboard and palmrest. I use the original cover and I am very carful not to press it when covered. Seen descriptions of permanent screen damage. Would I buy again? Absolutely. It fits perfectly to my needs with or without my external monitor (32 inch).

    Great for Projects!

Great for the purpose I needed it for. I do a ton of video editing and content creation. It is able to keep up with the workload that I placed on it. The only issue is that after a couple years its performance has decreased, it has a little more trouble staying cool and running smoothly. However it got me through college and intense video editing sessions so overall a great laptop!

    A Great Everyday Gaming Laptop

Occasionally overheats and shuts down when playing graphically intense games, particularly during the hot, summer months, but overall it has served me well for four years so far.

I was a bit anxious spending this much money on a laptop to begin with but let me just say... My expectations were high. Even so, this thing has completely blown me away. Keep in mind, these ratings are based on what I'd expect of a gaming laptop in this price range and how I think this one stacks up. Screen: 10/10 Build Quality: 8/10 Keyboard: 7/10 Battery: 6/10 Ports: 9/10 Game Performance: 9/10 General Performance: 10/10 Heat Management: 9/10 Overall, I can't possibly recommend it enough right now with it being $350 off.

    Another HP hit!

I got this during Best Buy's 3 day sale (1499.00) and it has met and exceeded my expectations. Great modern and minimalist design along with a gorgeous screen. Last laptop was an HP and I see why I keep going back: Aesthetics and performance The unit I received is the 15-ek0xxx not the 15-ek0023dx which may have the RTX 2070 Super MAX-Q. My unit has the RTX 2070 MAX-Q, which is slightly less powerful than what I expected based on previous reviewers. At least the product matches BestBuy's description, just not the product number. Fans are loud but not annoying when gaming, and doesn't feel too hot after some use. Overall, I'm impressed
