HP is not what it used to be.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Who designed this PC??? I've been a HP customer for many years, but was surprised with this HP OMEN 25L. I replaced my older (and great) 10 year old HP OMEN that was beginning to have issues with the motherboard, so I naturally gravitated to a new OMEN. This PC has only ONE expansion slot for a SSD. While it has physical space for more, it has only one SATA power and data cables. There's no plug on the motherboard for more. I was having issue with connection speed, so HP support fiddled around remotely and updated my BIOS. My system turned out to be slower. HP tech support, if you could understand them, was horrible. I later spoke to an independent tech support person at my work who suggested I simply insert a new ethernet card in an available PCIe slot, but there are NONE. The ethernet is plugged directly into the motherboard, and there are NO available PCIe slots for ANY type of expansion. I later replaced another PC, but this time with a DELL. Wow! Multiple SSD expansion available, open PCIe slots available, allowing me to make several personal upgrades.

Stopped working 8 months in
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was going great until either the motherboard or power supply failed on me. Or probably both simultaneously possibly... After a BIOS update, my PC restarted itself and just never woke up unfortunately lol. It just completely lost all signs of life when I came back to it to check if the update was finished. When I pressed the power button the first time, I noticed my lighting inside flickered a couple times and then just shut down. After that, nothing. I tried everything to resuscitate it lol. Dropped it off today at Best buy/Geek Squad so they could run diagnostics on it.

Do not buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy! After 10 months, the computer would not boot. I sent it back to HP under warranty. They said it was the power supply, and that I had to wait for them to get a new one. I was without the computer for over a month. Once I got it back, I found that my games kept crashing. Then, the Windows updates would crash my computer and make it not boot up. I called HP, and they were able to help get it booted back up, but my games kept crashing. I called HP again, and went through all the steps, including creating a boot drive. That failed and now this computer is completely dead. I called HP again and since the warranty has expired they want to charge me $318.81 (oddly specific) to fix it. This computer is only 15 months old! Don't buy an HP. Terrible product and terrible customer service.

Great PC, But Terrible Service Experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very disappointing experience with what should have been an exciting purchase. We bought a high-end gaming PC as a gift for our child, and while the system itself looked great, the customer service was a nightmare. Since it sat under the Christmas tree for a few weeks before we opened it, we were just barely outside the return window when we discovered it had issues — but the manager wouldn’t work with us at all. Geek Squad tried to repair it but couldn’t find the part, and after weeks of no updates, we were told it was in “extended testing,” which made no sense considering they claimed they couldn’t fix it. Frustrated, we purchased a $2,000 OMEN instead, only to have it crash days later. Geek Squad had us sign off as if the issue was fixed, only to say they needed to ship it out for repairs after all. That felt really wrong. After waiting over a month again, we were told the part couldn’t be sourced, and ended up back at square one with store credit. We spent months waiting, got no real answers, and felt misled through the entire process. The PC was great — when it worked — but the service behind it was truly disappointing. This could’ve been the start of a long-term customer relationship, but instead, we walked away frustrated and done with Best Buy.

Buyer Beware…total trash!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give negative stars if possible! It lasted exactly 1 year and 3 days before PSU and Motherboard failed. Then because of the fact that it was 3 days over the 1 year mark I had to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. I took it to Geek Squad at Best Buy. They provide no updates as they are trying to “fix” it. Best Buy customer service is the worst I ever experienced. You can’t understand anything the person on the phone is saying because they are from only God knows where and when you ask them a question they have no idea what you are talking about because they are in another country. I asked to speak someone at the actual store where I dropped off the computer (Joliet, IL Best Buy) and they said that was not an option. Then I tried the live chat… more of the same bullsh*t!! Shame on HP for making a trash computer that was $1,500.00 and doesn’t last and shame on Best Buy for pretty much my entire experience with them. This whole situation has made me never want to buy an HP product again and definitely never buy something from Best Buy. Truly sad and disgusting from what is supposed to be quality companies.

Disappointed with OMEN 25L’s Durability and Supp
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the OMEN 25L from Hewlett-Packard in late November 2023 with a one-year warranty. Unfortunately, just as the warranty expired, the computer stopped turning on. I didn’t extend the warranty in time because I didn’t expect such an issue to occur so soon. When I brought it to the Best Buy service center where I bought it, I was told that the cost of repair would be nearly as much as buying a new computer. I decided to purchase an extended warranty from HP for about $200, but I was informed that it would only take effect after a month. Now, I have no choice but to wait before I can send it in for repair. I’m extremely disappointed, especially considering the price of the computer and how quickly it failed.
