Customers commend the 27" IPS LED QHD Gaming Monitor for its top-notch picture quality, fast refresh rate, vibrant colors, good performance, and HDR, especially considering its price. However, some customers have expressed concerns about the quality of the internal speakers and the design of the stand. While a few users mentioned ghosting, the majority did not observe this issue. Overall, the monitor seems to be well-received for its visual performance and value.

It's been a good monitor so far. I will agree that for the price of it the speakers could be better, especially with it being a gaming monitor. I use it for my work for the most part. I'm still learning its features. I haven't had much time to play any games just yet, but the quality that it gives off is phenomenal. Great for business and pleasure.

Excellent for 1440p 240z gaming. Really good for the price I got it on sale for $300! 10/10 would recommend. It even has built in RGB in the back for more fps. Speakers are not great but it’s fine if you constantly use headphones

10/10! This monitor is perfect and so is the price. Great PQ, 240hz, great color and black levels! I purchased 2 of these. I highly recommend the 27” HP Omen 27qs. Absolutely perfect for the Xbox series X at 120fps or on my gaming PC running 1440p. Great monitor for 1st Person Shooters where high FPS is needed.

Best Gaming Monitor For The Price

This monitor has served me very well since I've had it. Every time it goes on sale, I notify my buddies to see if they're interested. There are five major elements and factors that go into the (fairly easy) decision to choose this monitor.
1. Size
2. Resolution
3. Refresh Rate
4. Response Time
5. Price
Let's start with the price. Currently, at $279.99 (on sale from its original price of $429.99), you cannot find a better deal for the same quality. I've always viewed 27" as the sweet spot for a gaming monitor, but that's the last thing to consider. The 1 ms response time is more than fast enough, with barely a noticeable difference between 1 ms and 0.5 ms which some other monitors claim. 240Hz used to be a lot, the maximum refresh rate as a matter of fact, back when I bought this monitor. To have that insane refresh rate tied to the QHD (2K) resolution status is a major bonus. It was hard using my secondary monitor at FHD (1080p) after switching up to QHD. In addition to a stunning 2K resolution at refresh rates of up to 240Hz, this monitor also supports selective 4K resolution settings (at the cost of refresh rate, which caps at 144Hz when using the 3840x2160 resolution, granted you're using the included DisplayPort cable instead of HDMI). The cable interface is another important factor, considering this monitor includes two HDMI 2.0 inputs and one DP 1.4 input).
Other important factors are the HDR400 display range certification, Freesync and G-Sync compatibility, and inclusion of the aforementioned display inputs as well as USB-B for upstream of the two high-speed USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports.
Forget 360Hz, 480Hz, 500Hz, or whatever else refresh rate seems satisfying. 240Hz is significantly more than enough to give you a seamless, smooth, and satisfying experience in every single context (I don't even think any refresh rate past 240Hz makes any noticeable difference, compared to the difference between say 60 and 120, or 120 and 144-165). To pack together the refresh rate, response time, and resolution into 27" is no doubt a feat of its own, but to have the opportunity to score all of this in a $280 pricetag ($430 value, as a reminder) is incredible.
To have all five of these major elements/factors is not something to pass by. Do yourself a favor and spring for this monitor ASAP, or at the very least keep an eye on it for when it goes on sale. For $279.99, other monitors may have specs like:
144Hz - FHD - 0.5ms - 27"
or
165Hz - QHD - 1ms - 23.8"
or
120Hz - FHD - 0.5ms - 32" - curved
If you've read this far, I humbly thank you for taking the time to consider my opinion. Just as a note to any/all customers perusing the reviews for this monitor, my opinion may not match that of others, and there very well could be another monitor out there that exceeds the quality of this one and for a relatively decent price. I have simply yet to find that monitor, and until I do I will always vouch for this one.
The bottom line is that you are getting an incredible deal here (when this monitor goes on sale, of course) because of the massive value-to-price ratio, with quality, size, specs, etc. all being at the forefront of a gamer's journey in searching for the best monitor for the best price.
Spare no time, and jump at this opportunity while you can! I promise you won't regret it!

I wasn't aware that cheaper monitors weren't necessarily color accurate. We returned the slightly cheaper ViewSonic for this model and love it! Huge difference for a few extra bucks.

I have had this monitor is August 2023 and it is one of the best gaming monitors available for it's price. My panel is the LG variant and it has no dead pixels, no back light bleed or any other type of distortions typical with other IPS panels . Colors are fantastic with the wide gamut Gaming mode setting, but it has a great sRGB mode for color accuracy purists. Motion clarity is superb. Just look at the overall rating for this monitor at 4.8 out of 5 stars from hundreds of buyers. Why spends hundreds more for incremental features. You get blazing fast 240hz speed, wide color gamut, excellent motion clarity for under $500, sometimes under $400.

Having owned a variety of HP monitors over the years they’ve mostly been basic and served primary productivity needs.
This refreshed OMEN series has better specs and higher performance than other monitors I’ve owned, and I can say I’m incredibly impressed by all that it has to offer.
While not a full 4k display the QHD seems to hit the sweet spot between resolution and fast refresh rates. Running at 240hz is buttery smooth though maybe overkill for much of my non FPS nor Forza gaming usage.
Movies and Apple TV 4K shows look crisp and sharp, particularly for a computer monitor. My minor nitpick is the choice of using an IPS panel, which offers a wider viewing angle, and sacrifices black level considerably. Black colors appear grey and distract from perceived picture depth. Television panels with IPS make sense for multiple viewers across a wide living room, but a computer monitor, particularly for gaming, one can presume the user is sitting directly in front of it.
My only other complaint is HP’s primary policy to download the OMEN Gaming Hub seems somewhat concerning, though the monitor can easily be used without it.
Pros
+ ample screen size
+ 1440p resolution
+ 240 hz refresh rate
+ 1 ms response time
+ 1000:1 contrast
+ Nvidia G-Sync
+ AMD FreeSync
+ cool looking back LED
+ ultra thin bezel
+ display port 1.4
+ USB Hub panel
+ built-in speakers
+ wide-viewing angle IPS
+ sturdy supportive base
Cons
-thicker than competition
-HDMI 2.0 vs HdMI 2.1
-black level on IPS not as deep as VA panels
-weighs more than other 27 inch monitors (with stand)
-Hp Omen gaming hub privacy concerns
Conclusion : HP ups the gaming monitor game with this 2023 updated OMEN 27-inch monitor. While not as sharp as LG’s 48-inch OLED (nor nearly as pricy, different markets) the resolution is adequate, and colors are vibrant, but their choice of an IPS panel impacts the black levels for most use cases.
Recommended buy for gaming usage, and pass for multi-use 4k TV and movie viewing.

HP OMEN 27" Gaming Monitor: Flicker Frustration

My experience with the HP OMEN 27" IPS LED QHD 240Hz Gaming Monitor was unfortunately marred by a significant issue. The screen exhibited flickering at refresh rates above 120Hz, rendering the high-performance feature unusable. Regrettably, this problem led to the monitor's return. Despite the setback, the display quality, HDR capabilities, and versatile connectivity options were impressive. However, the flickering issue overshadowed these positives, resulting in a disappointing overall experience.

I absolutely love this HP OMEN gaming monitor! The 27-inch IPS LED display is crystal clear and the QHD resolution really makes my games pop. The 240Hz refresh rate ensures smooth gameplay, and the FreeSync and G-SYNC compatibility eliminate any screen tearing or stuttering. The HDR technology also adds fantastic depth and vibrancy to the visuals. Overall, this monitor has significantly enhanced my gaming experience and I highly recommend it to any serious gamer looking to take their setup to the next level.

It is a monitor beauty, but because I give it 3 stars, because the ghosting is too remarkable when it is 240Hz, it is very remarkable, beyond that, I think it is a good price and good quality monitor, it serves very well for Fight and FPS games with an Input Lag 2.6 when it is to its maximum refresh 240Hz for, work is excellent, I recommend the monitor only if the ghosting is not a discomfort for the one who uses it.
