I wasn't aware that cheaper monitors weren't necessarily color accurate. We returned the slightly cheaper ViewSonic for this model and love it! Huge difference for a few extra bucks.

I have had this monitor is August 2023 and it is one of the best gaming monitors available for it's price. My panel is the LG variant and it has no dead pixels, no back light bleed or any other type of distortions typical with other IPS panels . Colors are fantastic with the wide gamut Gaming mode setting, but it has a great sRGB mode for color accuracy purists. Motion clarity is superb. Just look at the overall rating for this monitor at 4.8 out of 5 stars from hundreds of buyers. Why spends hundreds more for incremental features. You get blazing fast 240hz speed, wide color gamut, excellent motion clarity for under $500, sometimes under $400.

It is a monitor beauty, but because I give it 3 stars, because the ghosting is too remarkable when it is 240Hz, it is very remarkable, beyond that, I think it is a good price and good quality monitor, it serves very well for Fight and FPS games with an Input Lag 2.6 when it is to its maximum refresh 240Hz for, work is excellent, I recommend the monitor only if the ghosting is not a discomfort for the one who uses it.

I absolutely love this HP OMEN gaming monitor! The 27-inch IPS LED display is crystal clear and the QHD resolution really makes my games pop. The 240Hz refresh rate ensures smooth gameplay, and the FreeSync and G-SYNC compatibility eliminate any screen tearing or stuttering. The HDR technology also adds fantastic depth and vibrancy to the visuals. Overall, this monitor has significantly enhanced my gaming experience and I highly recommend it to any serious gamer looking to take their setup to the next level.

Having owned a variety of HP monitors over the years they’ve mostly been basic and served primary productivity needs. This refreshed OMEN series has better specs and higher performance than other monitors I’ve owned, and I can say I’m incredibly impressed by all that it has to offer. While not a full 4k display the QHD seems to hit the sweet spot between resolution and fast refresh rates. Running at 240hz is buttery smooth though maybe overkill for much of my non FPS nor Forza gaming usage. Movies and Apple TV 4K shows look crisp and sharp, particularly for a computer monitor. My minor nitpick is the choice of using an IPS panel, which offers a wider viewing angle, and sacrifices black level considerably. Black colors appear grey and distract from perceived picture depth. Television panels with IPS make sense for multiple viewers across a wide living room, but a computer monitor, particularly for gaming, one can presume the user is sitting directly in front of it. My only other complaint is HP’s primary policy to download the OMEN Gaming Hub seems somewhat concerning, though the monitor can easily be used without it. Pros + ample screen size + 1440p resolution + 240 hz refresh rate + 1 ms response time + 1000:1 contrast + Nvidia G-Sync + AMD FreeSync + cool looking back LED + ultra thin bezel + display port 1.4 + USB Hub panel + built-in speakers + wide-viewing angle IPS + sturdy supportive base Cons -thicker than competition -HDMI 2.0 vs HdMI 2.1 -black level on IPS not as deep as VA panels -weighs more than other 27 inch monitors (with stand) -Hp Omen gaming hub privacy concerns Conclusion : HP ups the gaming monitor game with this 2023 updated OMEN 27-inch monitor. While not as sharp as LG’s 48-inch OLED (nor nearly as pricy, different markets) the resolution is adequate, and colors are vibrant, but their choice of an IPS panel impacts the black levels for most use cases. Recommended buy for gaming usage, and pass for multi-use 4k TV and movie viewing.

HP OMEN 27" Gaming Monitor: Flicker Frustration

My experience with the HP OMEN 27" IPS LED QHD 240Hz Gaming Monitor was unfortunately marred by a significant issue. The screen exhibited flickering at refresh rates above 120Hz, rendering the high-performance feature unusable. Regrettably, this problem led to the monitor's return. Despite the setback, the display quality, HDR capabilities, and versatile connectivity options were impressive. However, the flickering issue overshadowed these positives, resulting in a disappointing overall experience.

So far It's awesome! The picture is amazing I'm getting 240fps in games like counter strike. Setting it up was a breeze. It is a very well built monitor. The stand is nice and sturdy. Hdr works for me. The speakers are ehh but that's typical anyway. I'll update as time goes on.

The price to performance value of this monitor is exceptional. The only premium feature you miss out on with this monitor is HDR, but it isn’t really missed with how vibrant the colors are, and how deep blacks can get. Refresh rate and response times feel good. Combine all that with a sleek build, and you have yourself an excellent monitor for 1440p high fidelity gaming. Would definitely recommend to someone who doesn’t want to pay $$$ for an exceptional monitor.

Overall this is a nice monitor for the price point (definitely try to catch any IPS monitors on sale at this point). Has built in speakers but I wouldn't use it for any "real" audio usage. Great response rate and w/ HDR in the mix, colors really pop no matter the game. I've been running Ghost of Tsushima, Valorant, Apex, and CoD and this monitor definitely holds its own. Cool little LED ring that you can customize as well but you probably won't notice it much.

This is a great monitor. Picture quality looks better than my LG C9 55in Oled sometimes. The fact that it supports G-Sync, moves up and down and actually has internal speakers that aren't too shabby was a win for me. I've had probably 7 HP Omen laptops over the years and they served their purpose without too much grief. Its amazing that I was able to get this open box for $260.

Vesa Clear motion MR 6000 not great for FPS games

For $279+tax im not completely upset with it, but... The LG 27gp850 with Nano IPS is better than this Omen. The SHARPNESS is better and lack of motionBLUR on the LG make it higher quality. The Omen has more motion blur. It doesnt stay sharp when moving in fast fps games. ..Maybe because its only Vesa ClearMR motion 6000. 7000 and up is better. The ips glow in the bottom left corner is kinda bothering me. But i know theres nothing i can do about it. Returning it is pointless as the next one can have the same issue. So i live with it for $279. Its just ips tech. Ill eventually get OLED after my gaming PC is paid off. The LG 27gp850 nano ips is better if you can find it in store. Dont buy online incase it as light bleed. Also the Samsung Odyssey G5 1440p 27" is probably a better option when its onsale. So for now the $279 Omen will do. * The good. Its bright, picture quality is great. Its colors are good, its vivid. Its got high refresh rate. Best settings! Use level 3 or 4 response time. Use 4 or 5 sharpness but never 6. Use the display port 1.4 wire for 240hz. Brightness 97, contrast 98. Use Native color only! Use adapted sync. I do love the back lighting on monitor when playing in a dark room. Its good for less eye strain and helps lesson the ips glow. This is probably really great for regular use and slower moving games but for FPS games its ehhhh just ok.

Monitor was easy to setup; Packaging was good. Took me less than 5 minutes to setup. Please be aware of the power button on the back of the device. Moreover, I am able to get 240Hz at 1440p with the Display Port cable (provided). Works great with my 4080 Super! I won't be upgrading for a while. This will last me for quiet a long time. The colors seemed fine. I am sure they can be adjusted but out of the box, it looked fine!
