This computer is somewhat of mixed bag; while it performs beautifully when playing games t 1080p, bumping up the resolution a bit can cause some noticeable slowdown in some games. This is somewhat surprising, given that the machine is sporting an 8400F Ryzen CPU and a GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card, but I think the RAM the 5060 is outfitted with (kind of a stingy 8 GB) might be the culprit. But if you can overlook ultra-high resolution in your gaming setup, this machine doesn't disappoint. And it runs cool as well. I was a little bit worried that the desktop would miss out on fancier cooling systems that are featured in the more expensive models in this line, but what's included here is more than adequate. I had no trouble keeping the CPU within tolerable temperature limits. The computer is also reasonably quiet. The fans powering the cooling system do not produce the kind of jet-engine-taking-off racket that so many gaming PCs do. One great feature is the inclusion of a number of parts that have standardized dimensions. You don't need to worry so much about getting the matching part from HP directly if you have to replace something. We all know of at least one gaming PC manufacturer out there that inflates the price of machine-specific components, but that's less of an issue with this desktop. RGB lighting is tasteful and easy to control from the home screen. You also get lighting that highlights the build of the chassis and gives it almost stoic accents. I can't speak for others, but RGB lighting that resembles a 60s psychedalia display doesn't really do it for me. One negative, though this is sadly consistent for HP - there is some bloat preloaded on the computer. Make sure to sign up for updates, special services, renew your anti-virus, etc. Yeesh. You can uninstall most of it, but it's annoying to deal with this nonsense on a high-end machine. And this is, despite its performance limitations, a high-end machine. HP knew who it wanted to target with this configuration and does a good job of it - people who want to get in to PC gaming but don't know where to start. The Ryzen chip is pretty powerful, and as long as gamers don't want or need the highest of resolutions, they'll be more than happy. Strongly recommended for new PC gamers. And the machine is cute, too!

This was my first HP gaming PC, and it didn't disappoint. From the moment I pulled it out of the box and set it up, I fell in love with it. First, the Panda Metal case with the glass left side is beautiful to look at and the RGB lighting when turned on of course is colorful but also highlights the internal components with lights on the fans, nifty vertical solid color lights on the memory sticks and 2 large round stacked lights on the face. Getting down to performance, the AMD Ryzen 5 8400F CPU combined with Nvidia's RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 produces high gaming frame rates flawlessly. I've read some reviews that panned the RTX 5060 but my experience on the games I play was nothing but impressive. It peaked out at 308 FPS and ran continuously in the mid 200 FPS with no problems on War Thunder, which is a fairly resource intensive game. The Omen ran cool and quiet the whole time. I never noticed any noise while gaming, and I was watching the CPU/GPU temps on an overlay while gaming. They stayed mostly in the 50-60 C degrees range. The sound system is outstanding. It's 5.1 DTS:X surround and I was blown away by it on my cheap 2.1 speaker system. I couldn't believe I was getting that sound on those speakers. I can only imagine on how great it would be on a good speaker system. The Audio control center allows for speaker configuration to match your setup and also has an equalizer. The gaming hub software has the usual stuff, plus advanced performance tuning including boosting the CPU overclocking the GPU. It also has a Light Studio for customizing the RGB lighting. The Omen 35L is equipped with a generous number of ports including 2-USB A 3.0 and 1-USB C 3.0 and a headphone jack on the top front of the case and 2 more USB A 3.0, 1-USB C 3.1, 4-USB A, standard audio jacks, 1-HDMI, 3-DisplayPorts and 1-ethernet, all on the back. This Omen 35L comes with power cord, keyboard and mouse, no other cables. The keyboard and mouse are nothing special, just the standard cheap ones you'd get with any PC. That's understandable to keep the price of this gaming PC competitive, as gamers are going to want to use their own favorite gaming keyboard and mouse anyway. You can spend a lot more money to get higher end components, but I think the average gamer would be very happy with this gaming desktop at its price point.
