I was very surprised by the price, it seems that I entered at the right time to obtain a powerful computer and an unbeatable price. A year after I bought it, it's still a competitive pc.

Solid 1440p gaming with some caveats

Had this PC for about a month now, and overall i have really enjoyed it. It is a big upgrade from my last rig, but it still has some problems. In terms of preformance, you get the components you pay for in this build. The 5800x and 3070ti function at their full potential and you get a really rock solid 2k gaming experience at high settings and a high refresh rate (4k medium settings is also pretty viable). Both components are also unlocked for overclocking (with caveats, more on this later). The psu is powerful enough to safely run the rig, and its gold rated. 16gb is plenty of ram for 2k gaming in most games, and it ships running at 3200mhz (3600mhz would be ideal, but 3200 is fine). The mobo is not from a brand name, it is a generic one from hp, which is not ideal for reasons ill go over in the software section but it does have cooling fins for the vrms and ssd. The 1 tb ssd works perfectly fine as a boot drive and a games library with room for more m.2 ssds or sata ssds or hdds on the mobo and in the case. Build quality is good, and cable management is ok. All the components seem to be upgradable/swappable for future upgrades (could theoretically upgrade the gpu or add/change ram sticks or storage in future). One common criticism of this rig i often see is cooling. All things considered, i think it is ok, not great, not terrible. The gpu cooler is pretty beefy, and keeps the temps around 75c at full load, which is well under 83c where it would start to throttle. The case is ok as well, definitly better than the 25L variant; it has 1 intake fan, and 2 exhaust fans, with one of the exhausts being used for the cpu AIO. More room for fans would be nice, but it produces decent flow through the case as is. The cpu aio is hp branded as well, but seems to function adequately (from a hardware perspective). While gaming the cpu usually hangs around 75c, but can briefly spike up to above 80c. When it comes to software, things get a little complicated. It comes with windows 11, which is cool but because it is so new, some peripheral functionalities like bluetooth and also general stability seem to still be works in progress. The BIOs on the hp brand mobo is VERY limited, with just some basic options for hardware diagnostics and settings (can't change ram speed, or cpu settings from here). Like all oem prebuilts, this one comes with some pre-installed software that you probably do not want (macafee, and a bunch of hp crap mainly). This can be remedied by reinstalling windows, but there are two I would recommend keeping. The "HP Support Assistant" app is how you can download new BIOS updates, so I would keep that one. The other one is the "Omen Gaming Hub" app. Oh boy, let's talk about this thing for a minute. It comes with a program to control the rgb case lighting, but it cannot detect or affect the ram rgb, despite hp specifically stating this would be fixed in a future update to the app. That and this next reason are the only reasons why I would keep this app installed, but this next point is MY BIGGEST CRITICISM OF THIS ENTIRE RIG: there is NO way to gain manual control of the case and cpu fans, 3rd party control apps don't work, so it can ONLY be controlled by this stupid app which always runs in the backround as soon as you fire up the rig and comes with a social hub and game overlay that I guarantee you won't want to use. No manual fan curves, just three available settings: quiet, normal, and turbo. All three settings are way too slow in my opinion; the first two let the cpu get way too hot before ramping up, and even turbo mode is slow to ramp up when the cpu temps spike. This makes the rig quite quiet, but leaves virtually no room for overclocking. Even now, I am typically only at 30-50% cpu utilization while gaming, but the temps still hang around 75c while the fan hums away at a low rpm. It is not dangerous or thermal throttling and you CAN set fan curves for the gpu fans, but even so, given the limited cooling of the case, it leaves basically no room for overclocking, and I dread the results I would see on a fully loaded cpu test. Overall, like I said, I have been really enjoying my experience with this rig, despite its shortcomings. I believe it will continue to deliver that high framerate, high settings 2k gaming experience for at least the next 5-6 years before I start having to turn the graphics down. There is a variant of this model with a 3080 instead of a 3070ti, but with the cooling issues i mentioned above, i wouldnt recommend it (i am very happy with the 3070ti personally). I also wouldn't recommend buying the 25L variant of this case, as the cooling is truly bad on that one. The problems it does have can be mitigated by you (deleting the bloatware) or could possibly get fixed by hp in the future (fan curves). Keep in mind that to get the performance you are paying for this rig, you will need a high refresh rate 1440p display with gsync; I picked an msi one up for about 280 usd. It is also worth mentioning that I bought this on sale for $150 off (was $1,930, I got for $1,780 before tax) in April of 2022. With gpu prices coming down and the next gen of cpus and gpus on the horizon, make sure to price out this whole rig as if you were building it yourself from parts off Amazon or Newegg, just to make sure you are not getting completely ripped off, especially since the 3070ti is not a great value card for the money (its basically a base 3070 with a memory overclock, so unless it is on sale i would probably opt for the 3070 non ti variant of this build instead) and you ARE paying over msrp for it at this price point. The calculus worked out to be a good deal for me, but evaluate the deal you are getting for yourself at time of purchase. Be mindful of what you want out of your rig; I wanted solid 2k gaming, which this model provides, and is why I can live with the lack of cooling options, but your mileage may vary depending on your use case (I only use this for gaming and light web browsing, I have no clue about productivity or crypto mining preformance). TLDR: get this rig if you want premium, but not top of the line gaming preformance and you don't mind your components running a bit toasty.

Absolutely beautiful machine, for a good price compared to some custom build sites I checked with same parts. Runs everything I’ve played so far quite well (except moments in path of exile, but I’m convinced that it’s just terribly optimized). Only problem I’ve run into is that if l let it go to sleep, it will not wake up, no matter what so I have to unplug it to regain control. Still not sure where this point of fault originates but I just set to never sleep and turn off when I’m done gaming.

This is a really good PC for the price if you can get it on sale! It has run everything I have thrown at it so far pretty easily. The case itself looks good as well. I havent had any issues with cooling but I can see that coming up eventually and will most likely upgrade the case and cooler at some point

Best deal i could find for the specs, had for a week. I was going to build a PC but due to the current price and lack of availabilty when it comes to GPU's this is a good deal. 3070ti is plenty for gaming i play WarZone 130-140 fps at 1440p high settings. Can you build something cheaper yes, BUT not by much and good luck getting GPU. Has 850 plus gold power supply liquid a cooler for cpu no temp issues for me but if you can't figure out how to undervolt dont buy a PC.

This PC would get 5 stars if it wasn’t for the (very common) issue that it locks up in sleep mode. I had bought this very same PC in May and was having this issue. If you look online, you’ll find that this is an extremely common problem for this model. And the only way to get it out of it’s locked up mode is to unplug it. I Troubleshot everything I could with no avail until finally getting with HP to see if they could remote in and help me fix it. We did absolutely everything except send it off and still couldn’t get this issue fixed. So I ended up coming back to Best Buy and exchanging it for the same model again in hopes that maybe I’d get lucky with one that doesn’t have this problem. Had the new one for one day and it locked up first time it went into sleep mode. I did ALL the updates and troubleshooting that I could that seemed to work for some people online, but again no luck. As of right now I still have this PC because it actually is a GREAT PC in every other department except for this one very annoying problem. So for now I have sleep mode turned off entirely and just turn off the PC when I’m not using it for extended periods of time or just leave it on. It boots up incredibly fast so at least that’s not a major setback. I’ll end up fighting with HP again soon while it’s still in warranty because this PC really does deserves 5 stars but until they can address this issue and stop sending them out with this KNOWN ISSUE- then it pulls it down several points. Just know what you’re getting into if you decide to go for it. I’m probably going to have to end up sending it off to HP within the year.

If you are having doubts about buying a prebuilt, don’t. I had my doubts buying a prebuilt especially for my first pc but, this pc has blown my expectations. The 3070ti is crazy good. Any game that I run looks great and the processor goes along with it well. The only problem with this prebuilt although, is it’s high temperatures. On some games, not all, I get a constant 75-80 celsius but on more demanding games, 80-85. The safest this CPU can go is 90 celsius which is fine but in the long run, it can damage the parts. In idle, the pc goes from 35-50 celsius. No problems so far but I would recommend adding more cooling into the pc which I will be doing soon especially considering how high the temps of the Ryzen Processors can get.

Great machine for Fusion 360 CAD Work

I use this machine for Fusion 360 CAD and PCB design, not gaming. It works really well for that purpose. As with gaming, the AMD processors just work better than the Intel for this. The RTX-3070 does rendering and simulations really well and I have never heard the fans. I had been concerned about fan noise but its not an issue with this machine. The only reason I did not give it 5 starts is that frequently after a few hours of inactivity, I can not wake it up via mouse, keyboard of power switch, and have to physically unplug it and plug back in to wake it up.

I just picked this PC up from the store after ordering it for store pickup, but just a big warning, if you order this item for store pickup be ready to wait on spending money until you do pick it up, i though that when I ordered it the money would come out but it wasn’t withdrawn until I picked it up a week later…after I thought the money was gone, all and all, it’s a very nice PC the 3070 has 3 fans compared to the 25L 3060 having only 1, it’s liquid cooler seems to have taken care of the less than satisfactory ventilation problem in the cheaper models, after going on Newegg to see if I could build it cheaper, for ≈ $1700 tax included this build is well priced without the hassles. Be prepared for crappy cable management when it arrives, they did the job but it looks pretty sloppy. I can’t wait to put it to the test

This system is super easy to set up and get started with. Firstly, Best buy needs to update the information, as this system has a 3070ti, not a 3070, so this is a great system to purchase that has a card that good under $2k (pre-tax). However, I didn't like the bloatware, there were too many apps installed that i was not interested in. The Omen gaming hub also did not seem to function correctly, so was not my favorite (i.e. changing lights didn't happen until after the PC was restarted; uses up lots of RAM when kept running during games). The fans get a little bit loud while running games in normal mode. But as soon as i turned on turbo mode, it sounded like a jet engine (didn't bother me, but something to consider).

I bought this version because of its specs and decent reviews. I bring it home, begin to set it up and get the BSoD. Ok, maybe it's just new PC bugs, so I have to set it up again. No problems this time, so I download three things onto it: COD: Warzone, Discord and OBS. Start WZ and get BSoD again. Weird. Restart my PC, and try again. No problems for about 30 minutes, and then the PC just resets in the middle of the game. This became a reoccurring issue for the next day. I can only play for about 30 minutes before it resets (overheating?). The fans never got too loud but temps said they were remaining low. I was getting some good frames on WZ tho ( 140FPS @ 1440) So I returned it, decided to give HP another chance and ordered another one. Get the second one, plug it in, hook everything up and hit the power button....nothing. It doesn't power on my monitor, the keyboard, but the tower's lights do turn on. So, I do a hard shut down, and power it up again. Still nothing. Another hard shutdown...finally! My monitor comes on. Start the setup process, pick my region, language and...the PC shuts down. OK, power back on, but my hopes are diminished at this point. I get through the setup process, and only download WZ and Discord. I notice during every thing I do, however, the computer is jittery. Clicking on a browser? The mouse pointer is very delayed. Typing something in the browser? Letters are very delayed. Open WZ? Very delayed and the start up animation is glitchy. Also there is crackling in the audio. WZ keeps crashing before I can even play. So I do a factory reset on the PC and do it all over again. Doesn't fix anything. All the same issues. Returned the PC. I'm really hoping this was just a bad batch of Omens. They are a great looking PC with great specs at a good price. I can't recommend buying this version only because of my experience. I've had no issues with HP computers in the past, so this was a disappointment.
