Great performance and an amazing display ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been really impressed with this laptop so far. The combination of the Intel Core Ultra 9-275HX and RTX 5080 delivers incredible performance. It runs modern games at high or ultra settings without issues, and multitasking with 32GB RAM feels extremely smooth. The 16" OLED 240Hz display is easily the highlight. Colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and the high refresh rate makes gameplay look incredibly smooth. It’s also great for watching movies or doing creative work thanks to the sharp 2560×1600 resolution. (Best Buy) Build quality feels solid and the design looks clean and professional instead of overly flashy. The cooling system does a good job keeping temperatures under control during long gaming sessions, although the fans can get a bit loud under heavy load. Battery life is average for a gaming laptop, so you’ll want to keep it plugged in for the best performance. Storage is excellent with a 2TB SSD, giving plenty of space for large games and fast load times. (Best Buy) Pros: • Extremely powerful CPU + RTX 5080 GPU • Gorgeous 240Hz OLED display • 32GB RAM and large 2TB SSD • Solid build quality Cons: • Fans get loud when gaming • Battery life is just average Overall: If you want a powerful gaming laptop with a fantastic screen and top-tier specs, this is an excellent choice

I have been loving this laptop until I found out that there are two bright patches at the bottom of the screen. It is obvious when I use dark mode. When i open browser or software with dark gray background it can be seen easily. I required a replacement and the other laptop came with the same issue. I’ve seen others posted their OMEN MAX OLED screen and they also havve this issue. You should really check your screen. I believe it is a product flaw.

Absolutely love this purchase. The cooling on this laptop is pretty good for it being a laptop and was very impressive. I still got the cooling pad that Razor offers to protect my investment but not totally necessary if you don’t plan on cranking the setting to max on every game. A couple games I played on max settings had this computer feel like it was playing solitaire. No struggle at all. The screen was something else too. For a laptop the screen looked better than the tv in my living room. The quality of graphic and power was better than most of my friends gaming desktops which was shocking again for a laptop. Multitasking on this machine is seam less. Creating videos to send to friends is super awesome. Con’s: My only cons I didn’t like was the amount of ads HP has that you have to manually shut off. Super annoying. Also the keyboard does not feel like a premium keyboard at all. I do recommend getting an external keyboard if you’re wanting a premium feeling keyboard. Not that big of a deal since people usually get external keyboards anyway. Also I wish the laptop had a thicker male end on the power cord. The part that goes into the laptop. If it’s not flush it won’t charge. Next is the hdmi out port only does 144hz from what I’m seeing on my 240hz monitor. You only see 240hz from the laptop itself. The amount of inputs was a slight turn off but the Razor cooling pad 100% fixed it. Really good investment if you’re buying this. Last thing I have is battery life. This is a gaming laptop. Don’t expect the battery life to last as long as your cellphone. Must be realistic.

The HP Omen Max 16 with the NVIDIA RTX 5080 is an absolute beast when it comes to gaming and performance. It handles every modern AAA title I’ve thrown at it with ease—ultra settings, ray tracing, DLSS—no problem. The QHD+ 240Hz display is vibrant, smooth, and truly enhances the gaming experience. Combined with the powerful Intel Ultra 9 processor, multitasking and content creation are also a breeze. Thermals are well-managed, the build quality feels premium, and the overall user experience is top-tier. Battery life? Make sire you carry your charger with you at all times…but fhags expected. My only gripe—and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5—is that the Thunderbolt (USB-C) display output is routed through the integrated GPU instead of the dedicated RTX 5080. That’s a missed opportunity… Still, if you’re looking for raw power in a sleek gaming laptop, this machine delivers.

Grabbed it open box excellent for 2300. Best value for that range of laptop. I wouldnt pay retail, it would be overpriced for sure. Depending on your taste, the keyboard may be a no go for you. I personally liked the lenovo i7 legion keyboard better but after instarted using mine I quickly adapted and its now really a non factor. I will say the visual of the soft pad keys can be offputting when your not using fhe backlight on them. Makes it feel like you using a kids toy or something. Other than the keyboard thisnthing looks great. Down to business side of things, this thing has power. But it comes with a catch. Fan Noise. If you are looking for a quiet laptop this is not the one for you. However, if you dont mind the fans and want all the spec.. dive in friends. Im only givig it a 4/5 because of the keyboard and longish boot times. Screen is beautiful connectivity is great and personally like the overall esthetics of this laptop. It bridges gamer laptop feel with everyday feel pretty well. I still wouldnt buy it full orice though but thats just me.

I’ve been using the HP OMEN MAX 16” OLED for a few weeks now, and it completely blew away my expectations. From the moment I turned it on, the 240Hz OLED display stood out—super vibrant colors, razor-sharp contrast, and buttery-smooth visuals make every game look phenomenal. Perfect for fast-paced FPS titles and immersive open-world adventures. The Intel Core Ultra 9 combined with 32GB of DDR5 RAM makes multitasking effortless. I can stream, game, and run background tasks all at once without a single hiccup. Paired with the NVIDIA RTX 5080, this machine handles everything I throw at it on ultra settings, with ray tracing and DLSS running smoothly. Storage is never a concern thanks to the massive 2TB SSD—lightning-fast load times and plenty of room for my entire game library and work files. Design-wise, the Shadow Black chassis is sleek, solid, and screams premium quality. The keyboard feels great for both gaming and typing, and the cooling system does a fantastic job keeping temperatures in check even under load. If you’re looking for a true high-end gaming laptop with stunning visuals, top-tier specs, and a premium feel, the OMEN MAX is worth every penny.

Excellent and Loaded machine with a beautiful 240Hz OLED screen. The RTX 5080 will give you near 4090 desktop performance Relatively small footprint for a gaming laptop. It weighs about 6lbs. The keyboard's RGB looks amazing. The Internals include 2 ram slots that are upgradable as well as a extra NVME slot. It’s expensive. Normally 3K however, I got it on sale for 2.7K. Hopefully those prices will cycle. Occasionally, I'll stream my STEAM games to my slower desktop (32in monitor + i7 with a 3080Ti) to get the Ultra-settings experience. Will likely upgrade with another stick of NVME.

Excellent performance while plugged in - sluggish just surfing the web when not plugged in (but you don't buy this to surf the web on battery, do you?) Otherwise, this notebook has it all... premium graphics, and decent memory / SSD. The memory is in sockets and fully upgradeable, and there is an empty NVMe slot inside to add storage if needed. The OLED display is *fantastic*!!!

The performance is very good. The new 275HX does run hot at full load but cools down quickly. Finally, it supports USB-C charging, a step up from the omen I owned before. However, with the high price tag, it's not acceptable to have such cheap speakers on it. The first unit i thought its defective unit and the second unit was the same. By comparison, Legion Gen 10 is a much better package. Also, it's a fingerprint collector, I think white version may be better? But Best Buy doesn't offer that.

Got this open box, was basically new condition. Performs great overall - 80+ FPS in CP2077 without framegen, with raytracing on at native resolution. Fans do get loud but not obnoxiously so. The RGB lighting and light bar are also really nice, as is the OLED display. Picked the 2TB SKU so I dont have to mess with a repaste, and dropped an additional 2TB in the free slot (which was very easy to do).

The laptop looks nice and has really nice components. To be clear, some laptops use the same GPU but do not provide the same power to the GPU as this laptop. So, this laptop's GPU performs better than some other laptops. I would highly suggest it for AI training, usage, and gaming. Battery life is not good when using the GPU, but with the integrated CPU, it lasts up to 4-5 hours with light usage. The only problem is that Nvidia G-Sync does not work with the display port because the display port input and output is not directly connected to the GPU. It goes through the integrated CPU, which does not make sense; minus points to HP for this.

This computer is excellent. The quality of screen is immaculate with its HDR graphics. The battery life is also very good, even when turned up to maximum performance. Overall decent, nice display, nice build quality. Have had issues with my bluetooth headphones and mouse, haven't been able to fix it on my end. My headphones will eventually glitch out and disconnect, while my mouse will occasionally randomly jump to the upper right hand corner while gaming. Its worth stating this was an Open box "excellent", so maybe the other guy was having the same issues. Also worth noting is the fact that the 2 usb-c ports are routed to the iGPU instead of the dGPU. The 1 hdmi is the only port connected to the rtx 5080! This was a massive disappointment as there would be a performance penalty if I were to connect my monitor to 1 of these 2 usb-c ports. (You can't rely on a mux switch to change this either). Unfortunately I have to turn down the refresh rate when connected to hdmi, thanks to my monitor having an older hdmi standard. They don't advertise these limitations up front though, so Best Buy has to deal with more returns like mine... That being said, the wifi card on mine could just be faulty and if you don't care about performance loss through connecting to the usb-c (if you have to) or you would be using hdmi anyway, then this is a good option for you as it is fast otherwise.

This laptop is a GAME Changer! I went from having a graphics card from my older laptop that had a 2040 Ti graphics card and a small 512gb storage.. Hahaha.. this is way faster with the 5080 Graphics card and the 2TB SSD... I love the graphics and the speed of the download. I game a lot so this is a must with my laptops or PCs that they need to have good download/Upload on stuff.. I love the laptop for the sleek design that is easy to carry.. the screen size is great! I thought I might want the bigger screen, but the OLED screen is great for me! (I use glasses when online).. I cant tell you that this game laptop is the best one for the price! You will enjoy playing on this or using it for school.. I play world of Warcraft, Fortnite, Little Kitty, Farm2 and so many more

HP OMEN open box purchase. Fantastic Laptop

My last gaming/work laptop was a ROG Zephyrus G14 from 2022. I was considering the 2025 model for my new laptop but the RTX 5080 in it is limited to 120W. After researching many options, I decided on the HP OMEN. The price tag on these new laptops is a hard pill to swallow. But Best Buy in my area had a single HP Omen Open box. I decided to give it a go as it was $700 less than the retail price. The laptop is in pristine condition. setup was easy. I updated all the drivers and software from HP. They have a gaming app that lets you overclock and tweak the CPU and GPU. It lets you unlock the watts going to the GPU to 240. After i set it up and installed my steam library i tested a lot of my games. The laptop runs games like you would expect. My benchmarks 3D mark, Kombuster, PC mark all score a little above average for a laptop running a 5080 laptop GPU. One thing that i am really happy with is the new DLSS and Frame Generation up to 4X. The drivers are at a point now where the graphics look perfect even using frame gen. I am playing Dune Awakening at 2560x1600 with max settings, Lumen enabled, advanced shadow maps, DLSS, DLAA and 4X frame gen getting 180-210 FPS. It looks fantastic on the LED screen. I also used the laptop in the low power mode at a campground plugged in to a camping battery UPS. I changed the game settings too low to save power and the FPS was still over 120 FPS without using frame gen. This is bar none the best gaming laptop in its weight class.
