Doesn't have backlit keyboard.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Advertised as having a backlit keyboard. It doesn't. Other than that the laptop is exactly what I expected it to be. I didn't get it for gaming but I have played some games on it. I am surprised by the quality and higher settings I have been able to set it to and still get smooth gameplay.

Excessive fan noise, slightly flimsy, good price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned mine despite the excellent deal for the specs. Biggest problem: the excessive noise from the fans. The laptop has an excessive hard fan blow that occurs periodically, even when it is not under any form of load. If hooked up to an external monitor the 1660 Ti automatically goes into use and the default settings of the computer do not allow you to switch back to the Intel UHD Graphics. Thus, even if only using an internet browser, while hooked up to an external monitor the laptop uses the more power hungry, heat producing 1660 Ti, which causes the loud fan to run even more often. The excessive volume made me return the computer. It was particularly noticeable when the computer was idle, with no open programs, not connected to any external peripherals, yet it still would do a hard fan blow for a few seconds every few minutes. Smaller issue: The plastic shell is not ideal, but it feels particularly flimsy on the right side over the ports. Touching this area produced relatively large creaking noises. Positive: The price was strong, particularly when it was on sale. The full-sized keyboard on a less than 17.3" laptop felt a bit narrow, but my typing speed on it was actually quite fast and accurate. The touchpad felt relatively nice, as far as they go.

Website left information out
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good laptop. Got it on sale, The website didn’t tell me the laptop didn’t come with a battery and the one they first suggested that I buy with it when I went in to pick it up didn’t work. Besides that no complaints. Just needs more ram

Gaming Laptop Needed!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my 12 year old because our older laptop was incapable of handling the speed of play and graphics from most pc games he played. Problem solved with this purchase. Cost was reasonable and comes with great support from Best Buy’s Geek Squad service plan.

Great Customer Service, Deven
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mr. Deven Henderson did a great job handling my purchase of a second laptop within a week. He took time to answer my questions to help me purchase a "surge protector" for the two laptops. He assisted me with a pleasant attitude and was well informed on my purchase needs.

Great Laptop Overall
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect mid range gaming laptop. Price is nice. I wasn't sure that the optane memory would be a great benefit with the onboard SSD but it seems to be noticeably faster. Had to blow away the stock OS due to the HP bloatware. It was eating up too much memory.

Just the right size green gaming machine!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast laptop with a great bright 1080p IPS 144hz screen. Good for gaming and office. Love the spacious green backlit keyboard! 16.1" screen which is fairly rare is just right! Nvidia graphics delivers when needed and room for a second 2.5" SATA disk.

Fine pc
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Didn't really need a gaming laptop. But I needed a new one. This is what was in store. I had a Lenovo prior to this one. It is fast though and I like that. Not crazy about the green accent and letters.

Wonderful laptop with an annoying issue.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The power supply adapter is not up to my expectations in that the cord the connects the power brick to the wall socket disconnects to easily and I must repeatedly reinsert the cord back into the brick. I have owned and used dozens of laptops over my career and have never had to mess with the power supply before. The ramifications of this are that suddenly, the laptop shuts down. Since you promote this as a "gaming laptop" and many games run full screen and suppress warnings like low power to prevent the game from being interrupted I will often have no warning before this occurs. So no, I cannot recommend this otherwise wonderful laptop to anyone.

HP Pavilion
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good laptop for gaming or office use. Screen is a little small for intense gaming and intricate detail, but the cpu speed is def fast enough to cover most games and programs easily.

Good for the price
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice screen. Has run everything smoothly so far. My hp assistant has stopped working and installing a newer vs hasnt helped but thats no big deal. The speakers sound good for a laptop. I would like to see a little more substantial build.

It’s HP!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Engineering student on the go. HP is what I expected. usability is great and hasn’t seemed to work that hard running CAD while having numerous browser widows open. I always count on Best Buy for what I need to get me through another semester!

Battery sucks.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this laptop, as long as you have it plugged in. It lasts about an hour not plugged in - not even playing games. Otherwise about half that. It works great other than that
