Bought this computer for my wife. We have had this for three (3!) months, and we are now waiting for customer service to get back to us. This all stemmed from the fact that out of the box the sound didn't work correctly. When plugging in headphones, we would lose sound until we: a) exited whatever program we were in, and unplug/replug the headphones back in, or if we didn't want to use headphones anymore, b) exited the program and replug/unplugged the headphones. Eventually all sound disappeared, regardless of speaker or headphones. Per HP virtual assistant, we attempted to update the sound drivers. Updating them required restarting the computer. When we restarted the computer, it still had no sound. So we went into the device manager again and found that the sound drivers had completely disappeared. Downloaded the drivers from the HP website according to the model, attempted to install them with no luck. Here's the kicker: when doing a sound test from the BIOS, the sound test worked (there was sound). Contacted Microsoft support who were unhelpful in solving our issue (we tried Microsoft first since it seemed like a Windows10 issue). Slippery slope led to trying a system restore just to get the drivers back (since "add legacy" didn't work), then a complete reinstall from the system recovery menu (there was no clearly marked factory reset option in the system recovery menu so I chose the closest option). That didn't work, so we tried to reinstall windows (first from the harddrive, then with Windows10 files from the Microsoft website on a USB), which failed (unable to install). This is absolutely a windows issue, but up-to-date drivers should have been shipped with the computer. HP's customer support has been less than helpful, and the support tools on their website are either outdated or under-supervised. Filed a ticket on the HP support website, chatted with someone (we were not rude, the chat lasted all of 5 minutes and consisted of exchanging information), and then received and e-mail stating the case had been closed. We re-filed the ticket and are currently waiting for a reply. This was a waste of over 900 bucks. I was skeptical because we had poor experiences with other HP products, but a lot of reviews came back positive on HP gaming laptops. Do yourself a favor and pass this up. This has become a very, very expensive mistake for us. This is disappointing as while it was working it was pretty good, sound issues aside. We followed the HP virtual chat AND the Microsoft support chat. Taking it into one of HP's service centers tomorrow and probably going to have to shell out another couple hundred (maybe excessively pessimistic) just to fix it. What a frustrating waste of time and money.

This little guy is great . Its fast, light weight, and is extremely well designed. its exactly what I wanted. The CSR that helped me was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. All in all very happy with this purchase

144hz screen is a plus, but in a lot of games its not going to be possible to reach those frame rates. CPU is a bit of a bottleneck in some games, and you'll probably need to pickup another 8GB stick of ram. Screen also already has several dead pixels just 2 months after purchasing.

Mainly for school but also playing games during down time. not too over the top in terms of specs, but plenty of horses for what is needed.

My Grandson set the laptop up for me and I really like it. In addition to using Zoom and reading my email, I enjoy playing Spider Solitare.

Absolutely love my computer. The download speed is amazing. Sounds great the back light is super cool. Cant wait for the late night school work and projects.

If you’re ok to use your headphone when you play games it is one the best value on the market. Otherwise, you’ll hear how real helicopter sound

The Core i5 is super fast for my needs. I really enjoy the graphics displaying very quickly. The fan from the spooling i5 can get a little loud at times, but I usually have the headphones on so it's not a bother.

This has the best bang for your buck. I haven't tested the limits of it, but so far its perfect for my needs. I upgraded to 16GB ram.

Very execllent Gaming laptop for me. Not only for the games but also perform very well for some software such as PS and Matlab.

I bought this laptop for my son who is 11 years old. He loves it. His favorite color is green, so the green lighted keyboard was a major plus. He uses the laptop more than his phone to play online games.

My decade old laptop died a few weeks ago. I took a dive in the gaming laptop category and have been more than satisfied with my purchase. It is more than capable of doing everything I need it to do and then some.

I am NOT smart when it comes to tech That was the reason I came to Best Buy... My language was wrong or I misunderstood. but this computer is not what I thought I was getting... It works fine but does not have a lighted keyboard (I specifically asked and was told it did) I have not been able to set up the anti virus program. Best Buy is too far away to just drop in anyway. I have learned. No more buying from this organization. I like the feel of the laptop but would not have bought it had I realized the keyboard could not be seen in the dark (like my old out dated and cracked laptop does....

I bought this computer just to play the Sims 4 (I have all the packs), and it plays it beautifully, but still lags here or there.

Excellent computer for FL studio on the go. This things is fast and sleek! Bought the nitro 5 and it didn’t work out of the box but I’m glad I went back and got this instead and I’m glad I did!

Great laptop for game lovers or business. Quick boot up, plenty of storage, crisp picture. Very pleased with my purchase. Love the backlit keyboard. Also great for steaming movies.

Got this on special for my son since his four year old laptop took a dive and he needed a new one for school and for his gaming. Games run better than his older laptop.

This is a very nice looking laptop. My son does his school work and can then play his games afterward. Screen is pretty bright, no dead pixels. Worth the money.

It’s what I expected when buying it. The price was sub-par for the product but I can’t complain when COVID has caused everyone product issues. Supply and demand at its finest. I’m overall pleased.
