I bought one of these HP Pavillion Gaming Laptops for my son late last year. After several months of watching him use it I had to get one myself. It is a BEAST and can handle everything thrown at it. I'm not a gaming expert by any means but do play a online on occasion and the smoothness of the graphics and the 1gb ethernet is amazing. No turning down quality to get better performance with this thing. Wow. You don't need to pay more for more power; this is priced right and does it all!

Ok soIi got this on sale and that's why i jumped on this!!! regular price is 899.99! Im coming from a 2013 toshiba satellite i3 , 4 gig ram on windows 8.1! I also have a macbook pro 2018 i5 8 gig of ram! This is really good for the money even if it was full price. I like that is has rgb, an empty slot to add hdd/ssd , sd card reader, and 144hrtz panel!! IT can run most games wth its 1080p panel high settings 30-100 fps!!! You can get 100+ fps if you have it on low settings. wIth rage 2 i got 50-60 fps on hight settings plugged in and borderlands 2 can hit 144 fps on highest settings plugged in,gears 5 ultra settings were 50-90 fps!!!. The cons are as follows:
1.While not plugged in you get 30 percent less performance
2.Not the brightest of laptop screens
3.Build is plastic and finger print hungry
4.battery life is not to good i got maybe 1.5 to 3 hours so if you put it on low performance mode you
5.Prior to upgrading laptop I was running into performance issues with newer games like control, star wars jedi order, and cod warezone
I ended up adding 8 gig of ram to make it total of 16 gig of 3000mhz and added an hdd 2 terrabyte for game storage adding the cost of 180 on top of laptop. Im glad to say after adding 8 gig of ram to make it 16 the newer games ran way better and were playable !

This laptop definitely gets the job done for your usual computer needs and your moderate gaming needs. It performs quickly and efficiently for regular use. It displays video game graphics very well if you're a more casual gamer. It'll certainly run games on par with the Batman Arkham series with ease. Overall, this laptop will let you enjoy a lot of things fundamentally at a solid quality for a good price.

It runs hot when playing hard demanding games. Just need to be responsible and keep it cool. As with any laptop, do not use it on a blanket or any soft surface, it myst be used on a solid hard surface at all times. The cold air intake for the 2 fans is on the bottom and it is imperative it does not get restricted. So for the parents out there, it will do schoolwork just fine as well as be able to have multiple connections needed for school like CITRIX client. It can also deal with any Adobe Suite software no problems. Any and all office suite software is a not even a contest for this little powerhouse. HP makes this with an extra 2.5 HDD bay on the inside. This means you can drop any SSD you want to in here for a second storage drive option for storage demanding files and/or huge applications and games. I spent 150 bucks on a 2TB SSD and added it to mine in 20 minutes. For the kids out there, this will game pretty reasonably. Yes, it will handle Warzone without problems with seriously high graphics. I get on the average of 75 fps playing Warzone in 1080 with all the goodies turned up like shadowing, view distance, textures etc. It also has a great Bluetooth adapter built in that actually does not have any problem syncing with any Xbox One Controller. Like I said, use this on a hard surface always and it will perform like a dream forever.

I have had this laptop for a couple months and it has been a pretty good experience using it overall. The performance when doing basic functions is nice, speed is pretty good. It is also nice to be able to play games that aren’t too demanding , such as rocket league and other games. I think for the price it was a pretty good purchase

Super great laptop. I really like the size of the screen and quality is great. GPU is really good for the price and memory is overclockable +800mhz just fine for me. Mine has Samsung GDDR6! Battery isn't as big as others, but for the price its fine. I added 16gb ram.

Works great. It has played everything I have thrown at it so far, including several high demand VR games like Half Life Alyx, Boneworks, and Lond Echo. I bought this primarily to use with Oculus Link, and it has worked perfectly fine in that regard. Although some of the games may need to be on lower settings to get a smoother FPS, the graphical fidelity is still greatly improved over the Quest 2’s default graphics, which I am currently using as a headset. Also added 16gb of ram and an extra SSD to improve on the experience. Extremely satisfied overall.

You can play Lord of the Rings, World of Warcraft, Fate, Torchlight, Steam and a lot of their games. Is fast. Great for watching t.v, YouTube. You can watch high definition television or standard. This is a great computer for the price. However as always (well at least to me & what I've found out or seen myself) Desktops will always be the better choice over laptops.

Great for what I need, I get around 100 FPS on Rust, 140 on R6 Siege and 60-70 on ark all on the highest settings, and i haven’t upgraded the ram to 16gb yet. The cpu temps get around 80 celsius and the fans can get a little loud but if yo have a headset you won’t hear them at all. The green keyboard is nice but you can’t change it from that. If you don’t like it there’s always a option to turn it off. Great value

When you plan on buying a laptop for gaming, you need to take into account so many more factors that you might not even have to consider when looking at desktop systems. With that said, I am incredibly happy with my purchase and impressed with the improved build quality, trackpad and screen brightness. I wanted a portable laptop where I could game at max / near max settings while sitting in bed or on the go. I needed something with great cooling, low noise pollution and next to no throttling. This laptop achieves all of that and more for under $900.
It’s perfect for competitive level performance on FPS games and MMOs. It does come with a couple of major caveats that weaken its ability with productivity. More specifically, you will need to upgrade the ram and buy two chips. The laptop comes with two 4GB chips. Additionally, I have mixed feelings about the Optane + NVMe SSD all on one chip. It will net you excellent performance... over time and not immediately. It takes a while to learn your preferred apps. I found that I got better sustained performance on a midrange SSD vs. this hybrid.
Lastly, my final issue is that this comes with. WiFi 5 card. I’m not sure why this far into 2020 how they did not think to do a little more future proofing this laptop. But, I think this is what it comes down — you are buying a laptop with a very basic configuration where you can upgrade as you go along. The base model is a solid contender and will easily play those AAW titles out of the box. Because making upgrades are easy and you are paying what you get for, I find that this is a solid buy.
If you’re on the fence on what to get AND you can wait, wait to see how the 3 series of Nvidia graphics cards shape up and hopefully the 60’s and 70’s drop in price resulting in a cheaper and better laptop. If you need something now, this or the Helios 300 are great buys! Happy shopping!

Got this laptop since I finally decided to join the pc master race. I'm satisfied with it, even with the 8gb of ram the pc boots up super quick, it is able to handle games at 1080p hitting the 60 fps. Honestly I love it, I swapped out the 8gb of ram for 16gb now this rig handles like a dream. My one pet peave that seems irrelevant is the fan, it tends to make a whirring noise now and again but with my head set and the cooling fan stand on It gets drowned out. Good starter rig.

Good Specs For The Price On Sale 750

Pros:
First of this is the only laptop that you can get with a GTX 1660 TI even if it's the MaxQ, 144hz Panel for 750. The CPU is fine 10th gen i5 and the SSD is also in par with the others at this price point. I was able to run some games on low-mid settings and pushing 80+ FPS which is amazing. I rather turn down the game quality and gain a few more FPS. The screen is nice and overall look of the laptop is very nice as well. Pretty much as a stated, you can't get any better specs for the price.
Cons:
The chassis is made of plastic and the edges are sharp. If you press down on the body you hear the plastic creaking. It also get's very hot while gaming, like super hot.
Overall: Decent specs in a mediocre plastic chassis that looks appealing if that makes any sense. I would give it a 3.75. I would not pay full retail price for this laptop. I paid the sale price because at the price, I can ignore the cons.

Fast and silent! Wakes from sleep almost instantly. The green key color is easiest on the human eye and doesn’t cause stress. It’s super light weight. The battery life is impressive. And the display is bright, sharp and viewable from any angle.

WARNING: THIS LAPTOP MAY COME DEFECTIVE, THIS ONE SPECIFICALLY IS KNOWN FOR TRACKPAD PROBLEMS. WHERE YOU HAVE A LARGE GAP TO CLICK ON THE TRACKPAD TO GET THE RIGHT CLICK TO WORK. I GOT THAT PROBLEM BUT INSTEAD OF RETURNING IT I SENT IT TO HP AND GOT IT FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. TOOK ABOUT A MONTH BUT IM HAPPY NOW.
With that being said.
I love this laptop, I did purchase this open box though. I didn't play anything crazy on it. I played Samurai jack, SpongeBob battle for bikini bottom. and Forza Horizon 4 (on medium/high) Which all ran great. Does sound like a jet engine though but tbh I don't really care.
I also use it for work with Maya and Zbrush when I am not at home and it works like a charm. Substance Deisgner is a lil laggy when loading smart materials (I do install more into substance) but after the loading works like a charm.

I really love this laptop. This is coming from never having one with a graphics card like the nvidia. I can play all my games from steam without a problem. I did upgrade the 8 gb of ram to 16 and that did make a big difference. The one thing that bothers me is how flimsy the keyboard is, if you try to use it in your lap the mouse pad right button gets stuck sometimes. Not that big of a deal because if you're gaming this thing gets hot quick and you won't want it in your lap. Otherwise it has done everything I want it to, from running games to running the av system at my church.
