Was a great little laptop. Could have used a little more RAM from the start. Ended up upgrading to 16gb. Cannot change memory speeds though in BIOs.

I bought this laptop on May 31st, 2021 online, picked it up from my best buy local store, and mainly used it for basic use and not for gaming. Over a month ago this laptop just stop working and it became really slow. Usually my laptop would last atleast 3 or 4 years before it would start having a problem. I called bestbuy for a remote technician and he could not do anything about it. Now I need to bring it back to the store and trying to find a spare time on my already busy schedule. Another expense too!

I purchased this HP August 2020 and it worked great for a while. A couple of days ago it wouldn't turn on. I had it looked at and was told the CPU was bad. The warranty was only for 1 year so basically I am out a $1,000 computer that's not even paid for yet. The other drawback is the power cord. The cord broke (our own fault) and the only replacement cord that would work cost $150. I am very disappointed in this purchase and upset the money it has cost me!

This computer was not able to operate for much more than an hour (unplugged), no matter what program was running. Even when off for an extended time, there was a noticeable drop in battery. The AC adapter and power cord separated easily despite securely attaching them.

Very disappointed in Bestbuy. I attempted to speak with someone regarding a return or exchange. I spoke to 3 different people - each one directing me to another and the last stating she could not help. Attempted to speak with someone in the Greek Squad - no one would answer. Attempted to make an appointment - but they would not help me around my work schedule. Bestbuy and the product itself was a bad choice.

Awful. Slow - barely use because it’s so clunky and always drop the internet connection. Had to swap and got less money because the only way it turns on is being plugged in. Wild to spend so much money on such a dud.

Excellent Gaming Laptop for the price

This laptop is excellent for the price. Plastic shell but that's expected. The green and black color combo looks amazing, very xbox feel to it. The screen is wonderfully smooth at 144hz with high frame rates in gaming, you'll also benefit from this 144hz in web browsing and the general windows operating system just feels far smoother. The laptop has the hp omen command center to check thermals. Playing GTA V and NBA 2K20 on steam, I was getting amazing performance after setting the game to use the NVIDIA Chip in the Nvidia control panel. Blowing away an Xbox One in graphical looks. The display is just 300 nits which isn't bad for indoor use, but dim for outdoor use also not super color accurate for editing photos and videos, but again this is a budget gaming laptop. The storage is a bit low at 512GB for several games and other programs, but 512GB is enough for system storage and a few Triple A titles. It's pretty easy to upgrade the ram as well. I went to 32GB and the laptop screams now, although it was running smooth with just 8GB you might still benefit upgrading the ram to at least 16GB later on. For this money this is a TON of laptop power. The keyboard has nice travel and backlights well in green. Trackpad is large but plastic as expected. It's Precise and smooth however. Some HP bloatware on the laptop. Speakers are bit low out of the box but tune them up in the Bang and Olufsen settings and there plenty loud and front firing which is good. This laptop is a bit heavy but you don't buy this to be light. It's nice that it comes with a monster 200W charger which charges this thing up in no time, although the battery life is weak at about 4-5 hours in light use, in gaming its like 1-2 hours max, so keep it plugged in when gaming for long sessions. Basically this is entry level OMEN laptop under the name Pavillion. This is excellent value for money and could be a great desktop replacement and also great as a first time gaming laptop or just a beast upgrade to your old lagging gaming machine. Think Acer Nitro, Dell G3, Asus Tuff, competes well with these machines. Super happy with this purchase.

Bought less than 2 years ago. Laptop stopped booting - took it to repair shop and they confirmed that both the SSD drive and either the CPU or motherboard are fried. So, the laptop is completely worthless now.

Would have kept this laptop but with HP constricting that unit is not upgradeable on ram and yet it had removable not solder in. If your satisfied with only 9K ram then buy it. Other wise buy anothet laptop.
