Reccomended for low power gaming.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bangerrrrr. I reccomend this laptop for those who play optimized compact games. It definitely needs a RAM upgrade upon purchasing. Battery life is a little short but that's to be expected with a gaming laptop. Overall a great deal.

Exactly what you’d expect for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros- Bright screen, decent performance under light load, adequate number of ports. Cons- Battery life is not great, device gets hot under moderate load, frequently requires a restart, and occasional track pad malfunction. If you need something that will just get you on the internet and want to play some very light games, great device. Anything more than that and I would wait for a better device to go on sale. Overall exactly what you would expect from a laptop at this price-point.

great laptop for gaming!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this gaming laptop a while ago and after using it for some time I can honestly say I’m really happy with it. I’m mainly using it for gaming but also for regular stuff like watching videos, browsing, and running multiple apps at the same time. Performance has been great so far. Most of the games I play run really smooth and I haven’t had any serious lag or overheating issues. I usually have a bunch of things open in the background too like Discord, a browser with multiple tabs, and sometimes even a stream, and the laptop still handles everything without slowing down. The screen( the only thing that I don't like 100%) looks really good for gaming and media even for it's size. Colors are nice and the refresh rate makes games feel smooth, especially in fast-paced games. The keyboard is comfortable for long sessions and the overall build feels solid. Another thing I like is that it doesn’t get crazy loud like some gaming laptops do. The fans kick in when I’m playing heavier games, but it’s nothing annoying. Overall I’d say it’s a solid gaming laptop if you want something that can handle games and everyday multitasking without any problems. Definitely a good purchase in my opinion.

Good laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great graphics. Looks great didnt have the memory i wanted so i upgraded that to 1tb. Unfortunately it only has 1 slot for the internal ssd card. So had to re install the windows OS. The battery doesnt last long with the settings i have on it. Other than that its fast and a good option for a budget gaming laptop

Price to preformance is great.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this laptop for about 6-7 months and it's great for it's price. I can't play AAA games on med-high settings. However, it runs really smooth, especially with buying more ram it runs fast. The fan speed is Incredible for those who are on it for a while. It does blow hot air but only gets to about 90 degrees on high usage.

Excellent
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP Victus has exceeded my expectations. It’s fast, smooth, and powerful enough for gaming, multitasking, and everyday work. The screen is crisp, the design feels premium, and the performance is incredible for the price. If you want a reliable laptop that delivers great value, the HP Victus is an easy recommendation.

Ok for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I would say this laptop is ok for the price. I'll admit my attitude going into it wasn't the best because I feel I was forced into purchasing a new laptop just to get Windows 11 before October, but it had to be done and so far this laptop has met my requirements at least. I've had an ASUS gaming laptop for almost 15 years that I've really enjoyed so it's been really difficult for me to have to replace it. I've actually tried a few replacements over the years but ended up returning them for various reasons and just ended up taking the ASUS in for repairs because it was somehow outperforming the newer, more expensive models I was trying to replace it with. I think I still prefer my old ASUS to this HP, but keeping the old one is no longer an option so I've decided this one is sufficient for at least the next few years. The main issue I have with it so far is the touchpad. Since I've not been in the market for a new laptop for quite some time I had no idea it wouldn't have actual buttons to left and right click. I'm getting used to it, but I don't see myself ever preferring this to tactile buttons. Also no matter how I change the sensitivity settings I'm still having issues with it. Even at the lowest settings I'm still getting a lot of accidental clicks and dragging issues while being unable to control finer movements to click on smaller buttons. I tried adjusting back to medium sensitivity and the finer movements still aren't improved. The worst issue I've experienced with the touchpad though is if you place it directly on your lap it goes absolutely berserk. I did some research and finally saw a reddit post where some users had narrowed it down to an issue with the plastic casing. Somehow the touchpad will sense anything around it or even under it. Just resting it on your legs can trigger unintended 3 or 4 finger gestures. The 2nd time I used the laptop on my lap I placed it on a cooling pad and it eliminated the issue, but I still would have liked to have known about it before purchasing. The first time it happened I spent a good 4 hours fighting with it, thinking I'd gone insane and was somehow failing to be able to use a simple touchpad before finally finding this information. I had scoured the reviews to a similar model this one was based on (this one only had 1 review at the time I purchased it) and not a single person mentioned this issue. I find that so strange since apparently it's a known issue that many reddit users have complained about. Personally, I find it very concerning that the laptop casing is so thin and cheap that the touchpad can sense through it. While it does look nice, you can tell right away that it feels kind of flimsy. Thankfully it seems I got a good one at least because during my research I did see photos that others had posted where their touchpad was sunken in along one side and having worse issues. Mine is at least level and functioning but I know for future reference to be extremely careful with it. I haven't had an HP in a long time but I do like how quickly it starts up. I could do without some of the ads though. For the first week it feels like it gave me weird startup notifications almost every time I started it. Some of them seemed quite urgent like "low memory" and "registry issues detected", which at first glance is really concerning when using a brand new laptop but I found that if you click to resolve the issue it basically just takes you to an advertisement for HP iolo. I'm fine if a company wants to advertise, but the false system notifications are really uncalled for. Despite my annoyance and concerns with how well the plastic casing and touchpad will hold up, I have decided to keep it. Keep in mind I've only used it for less than 2 weeks but it does at least perform well. Hopefully it will continue to hold up long-term.

Overall decent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't have much experience with gaming pcs but this one is decent and what you would expect for the price. Runs ok but struggles with many things open or certain games will lag a lot. Battery life is pretty bad you would just have to have it plugged in all the time. Features are nice and screen looks great. Would recommend for functionality and low price.

Not too shabby!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop during a Deal of the Day about 2 weeks ago. It was at $599 but I got an open box at $508. First thing I did was buy 32gb of Ram and a 2tb NVME drive. Installing the drive and ram was pretty straight forward. I was surprised that the laptop had 2 NVME slots. I was debating between a handheld gaming pc or a gaming laptop. I do light gaming and also use slicing software for my 3D printer. I have to say, I am not disappointed at all with the Victus laptop. I have been playing the Gears of War beta and it looks great. I am getting over 100 fps. One thing I noticed when I have the system metrics going is that GoW Beta makes the CPU run at 100%, same with CoD and any graphic intensive game. I think the i5 processor is likely the culprit but the thermals stay in a good range. Don't get me wrong, you can hear the fans when they go on high but I can also hear my wall AC so it's not a big problem. I seriously wanted to splurge on the Asus G14 or G16 but did not want to spend all that money, especially since I didn't need all that power. The screen isn't something to brag about but it gets bright enough and I honestly keep my laptop connected to an external 2k monitor so its a none-issue for me. The HP Omen software is pretty good in that it lets you tweak your games using their AI to switch the game to the beset display settings but outside of enabling the metrics, I rarely use it I think if you can find this laptop at $500 or below, it is a great buy, just get more ram.

Fantastic Mid-Range Gaming Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great gaming laptop if you're looking for the following: - Considering the top-of-the-line gaming laptops are $1400+, this is a great budget option of midrange specs (especially if you can get this item on sale). - You are looking to play games that are older than a year, or do not require intensive graphics. I like the Star Wars universe and recent games run well on mid-high graphics settings. - You want to play a couple of game titles casually with your friends. Competitive... this depends what games you're looking at. Most of the popular online skirmish/battle royale games run fine. - You want to ensure having access to games that require Nvidia Geforce graphics. I bought an Intel graphics-based computer in the past and it became an issue when it turns out D4 would not run at all. Granted, that computer was not intended for gaming. - You want a laptop with acceptable, business-professional aesthetics. Many other gaming laptop designs are not something to bring into the office if attempting to maintain a professional business image. This one has a sleek, clean look where only those who know the Victus line as a gaming laptop will know. Other than that, it will pass as a laptop with some power. This point only matters if your workplace has certain expectations of your professional appearance. If any of the above points apply to you, then this laptop checks out as a great option. Now, onto some things to be aware about: FAN NOISE: Graphic-intensive games will get the fan running loud. If you have headphones on, you naturally won't hear it. The fan sucks air from the bottom and blows it out the back. CPU TEMPERATURE: According to the OMEN Gaming Hub (preinstalled by HP), the CPU temperature peaked at 185 degrees Fahrenheit at 100%. For reference, this was while playing Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War (released 2020) with several graphic settings on high (not max/"ultra"). RAM: I upgraded my RAM to 32gb DDR4 3200 MHz. STORAGE: If you plan to play more than 5 recent titles, either upgrade your SSD, or uninstall the completed game and make space to install the next game. I manually upgraded my SSD to a Samsung 990 Pro, also purchased from Best Buy. Overall, my gaming sessions are about 1-2 hours each, and not daily. As such, this game is very suitable for midrange gaming needs and can handle some higher-intensive games.

I loved!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Performance is fast and reliable, handling everyday tasks like browsing, streaming, office work, and even light multitasking with ease. The system feels responsive, boots quickly, and stays stable even after long hours of use. The build quality is surprisingly solid for the price. It feels well-made, not cheap or flimsy, and the keyboard is comfortable for typing, which makes a big difference for work or studying. The screen is clear and sharp, with good brightness and colors that are more than enough for daily use. Battery life is another strong point. It easily lasts several hours on a single charge, which is perfect for work, classes, or travel without constantly worrying about plugging it in. What really stands out is the cost-benefit ratio. For the price, this laptop delivers features and performance you’d normally expect from more expensive models. It’s an excellent option for students, professionals, or anyone looking for a dependable machine without overpaying. Overall, this is a very good laptop and a smart purchase. If you’re looking for strong performance, solid build quality, and great value for your money, this notebook is definitely worth it.

Great Entry Gamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great entry gaming laptop. I bought the model with 8gb of ram because it was cheaper, and then installed a second 8gb stick (16gb total) myself for around ~$20. Easy upgrade and saved a lot of money. The RTX 3050 keeps up well enough to still look and feel good. I’ve tried Minecraft, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Helldivers 2, Deep Rock Galactic, Risk of Rain 2, Jedi: Fallen Order..:no problems whatsoever. Only concern is that the battery runs pretty hot, so watch where you set it, but it’s normal and won’t damage the computer. Now that I’ve had it for a year, I wish I could afford a nicer one…but I cant. So this laptop is perfect.

Entry level gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop has a very nice design. It’s an entry-level gaming computer. Overall, you can play most games. I play games like GTA 5, and it runs smoothly with high FPS. The only downside is that it has 8GB of RAM, which is a bit disappointing. 7/10.

HP Victus 15.6 (i5/RTX 3050) Review: A Solid Budge
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.give me a neutral one paragraph product review of the HP Victus 15.6 with the i5 and 3050 gpu The HP Victus 15.6 with an Intel Core i5 processor and NVIDIA RTX 3050 GPU generally offers a solid entry-level gaming experience, capably running many modern titles at 1080p on medium to high settings with its 144Hz display, though the screen's brightness and color accuracy can be limiting. While its all-plastic build might exhibit some flex and battery life is typical for a budget gaming laptop (requiring it to be plugged in for extended gaming), it provides good value for its performance and typically maintains reasonable thermals.

Great performance for gaming, especially The Sims!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely love this laptop. The performance is smooth, fast, and perfect for playing The Sims (and other games too). Load times are quick, and the graphics look amazing with the RTX 3050. The 144Hz display is a major upgrade—it makes everything feel more responsive. The only minor downside is the fan can get a bit loud after a few hours of play, but honestly, I barely notice it when I’m deep in gameplay. Great value for the price and perfect for casual to moderate gamers.
