Great laptop, haven’t had a single issue with it since I bought it. If I were to pick anything at all to complain about, battery life isn’t great…but it’s a powerful machine so that’s kinda expected

The HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop is a solid entry-level gaming machine that gets a lot right for the price, but it also comes with a few noticeable compromises.
On the positive side, the Intel Core i5-13420H paired with the RTX 3050 handles most modern games surprisingly well on medium to high settings. The 144Hz Full HD display is smooth and makes fast-paced games feel responsive, which is a big plus at this price point. Boot times and game loading are quick thanks to the 512GB SSD, and the Mica Silver design looks clean and more professional than many bulky gaming laptops.
However, the biggest drawback is the 8GB of RAM. It’s usable out of the box, but multitasking and some newer games clearly benefit from an upgrade to 16GB. The cooling system can also get loud during long gaming sessions, and the laptop tends to run warm under heavy load. Battery life is another weak spot—it’s fine for light use, but gaming unplugged drains it quickly.

This laptop exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Performance is fast and reliable, handling everyday tasks like browsing, streaming, office work, and even light multitasking with ease. The system feels responsive, boots quickly, and stays stable even after long hours of use.
The build quality is surprisingly solid for the price. It feels well-made, not cheap or flimsy, and the keyboard is comfortable for typing, which makes a big difference for work or studying. The screen is clear and sharp, with good brightness and colors that are more than enough for daily use.
Battery life is another strong point. It easily lasts several hours on a single charge, which is perfect for work, classes, or travel without constantly worrying about plugging it in.
What really stands out is the cost-benefit ratio. For the price, this laptop delivers features and performance you’d normally expect from more expensive models. It’s an excellent option for students, professionals, or anyone looking for a dependable machine without overpaying.
Overall, this is a very good laptop and a smart purchase. If you’re looking for strong performance, solid build quality, and great value for your money, this notebook is definitely worth it.

Not a super powerful gaming system, but plays all the games I want to without issues. 8GB memory is a bit short, so I upped it to 32GB and it runs great now. All I want to do is bump up the storage a bit and this should last me a while. The laptop is made of plastic and gets a bad reputation for the hinges breaking, but one month in and mine is in good shape. Just open gently from the center and you should have no problems.

Good starter gaming laptop. Got what the money we paid for. Anything negative is about laptops in general. This laptop has good image, good speed, and can game on the go.

A really great budget friendly gaming laptop, doesn’t have much cons but the battery life is not the long specially when playing games, and the fan noise its not really noisy at all. Over all this pc runs great and smoothly.

Took a shot on this for my daughter's 16 birthday. She's wanted a gaming laptop, but I didn't want to go overboard, and spend an arm and a leg. She got it set up in minutes and loves it. She plays Steam, Roblox, and Minecraft and absolutely loves this laptop. Would 100% recommend.

The display is sharp and vibrant, with a high refresh rate that makes gameplay feel incredibly smooth. Colors look great, and the screen brightness is more than enough for both indoor and well-lit environments. The keyboard is comfortable with good key travel, making long gaming sessions enjoyable, and the backlighting adds a nice touch.

I would recommend this item if you just want to play small, cozy games. It also always needs to be on the charger, or it will die. But the graphics were good, and it runs smoothly. I mostly played Roblox, Sims 4, and Minecraft on it.

This is probably the worst PC I have ever owned.
It has fairly decent performance for casual gaming. However, it has had battery and network connection issues since day one. I wish I had returned it in the two weeks after I bought it, because it has only gotten worse.
It can only hold a charge for about 30 minutes during a gaming session. I know this is pretty common for gaming laptops and you can expect to be plugged in most of the time. But the thing that gets me is I can have all apps closed out, nothing running in the background, fully charged and asleep and the battery will be totally drained overnight while not in use. I wake it up the following morning and it’s somehow at 5%. Why? I have owned a cheap Lenovo laptop used it mainly for gaming even though it was not a gaming laptop and did not have these issues with the battery.
On to the network connectivity. It will at random and for no apparent reason just refuse to stay connected to the Wi-Fi for more than two minutes at a time, connecting and disconnecting every few minutes. This will go on for a few hours no matter what I do to try to fix the connection. Then just as randomly it will reconnect and be fine for days. It is not my Wi-Fi since every other device in the house is connected without issue. I have to conclude that it’s this computer.
And the fact that it has done this from the beginning leads me to believe there’s something wrong. I am not very tech savvy, although I am capable of troubleshooting minor issues with help from google.
I just don’t know what the problem is here and I do not want to spend more money to get this fixed when I have only had it for a few months. Cannot return it but am still paying for it.
Also the fan is incredibly loud and you better not have this on your actual lap while playing a game because it gets so incredibly hot, it will burn your legs.
It is also very slow. I know this model is a 2023 but I bought it supposedly brand new. For comparison, I previously owned a Dell xps desktop which I used for gaming for 3 years, it was not the newest model when purchased, and I never once had an issue with diminishing speed. For example, it will take like 5 minutes to load up my game after hitting start, the dell would be practically instant. And….same internet connection soooo…..
Overall very disappointed considering it had pretty positive reviews. It underperforms for the price imho. A $200 Lenovo not made for gaming did better than this. /sigh

I purchased this laptop so that I could play one of my favorite pc games. So far the performance is amazing and I'm glad that I purchased it. I would definitely recommend the HP-Victus. I'm not sure if it has to be plugged up the entire time of use, but the battery life isn't great without being on constant charge. I do unplug it a few times per day to allow the computer a chance to not overcharge.

It’s my first Windows based laptop since windows 7 release , I’m a bit surprised how it performs in a good way. Battery capacity maybe 1 hour of gaming in performance mode. Overall great looking laptop with nice full keyboard, runs good and cool .
