This is an amazing piece of technology. I run fortnite on 400 fps. I greatly recommend this laptop for anyone that is a casual gamer. I do recommend you buy a second stick of ram (8 gigs is not enough) I do recommend this laptop for any casual gamer if you are playing games on mid graphics settings.

The laptop is excellent for the price it was offered at. I hope the current specifications allowed for a higher memory upgrade than maxing out at 16 GB. Still excellent product. So far, I have not tested it's capability for what I purchased this for, hence the 4 stars. May change it later.

This thing is perfect for gaming Get 60fps on 1080p no problem with low to medium settings. I would not game on battery power. Put in another 8g ram stick and you are golden. For my ram is the samsung brand on amazon cheap

I repair and sell PC + server/enterprise equipemt, with that said not a big fan of HP generally. But this laptops, build quality for the price and offering is hard to pass up. The usual deck flex, woble from screen/screen quality isnt good as most complain about, yes while loud fans those complaining have no idea how loud laptop fans can go, play with an MSI with turboboost going the vicrus is pretry quiet compared to other brands. This laptop if found on sale is great for spare gaming laptop on the go or first time PC gamers, or folks wanting to play esports etc. it plays all the stuff i generally like to play. Upgrade the ram to 16 or 32 and bump the NVME to a 1tb -4tb drive since theres only one slot/space sadly is my only gripe.

I got this on sale for under $500. I would recommend it if that is your budget. There is some mild stuttering but I plan on upgrading the RAM. It runs the games I've tried fairly well. the build quality is also better than I expected.

I liked the up to date hardware and the ability to upgrade for more ram. Its a great laptop for the price would reccomend for gaming and daily tasks. I would suggest upgrading to 16 gb ddr5 ram if used for gaming though.

Great entry level gaming computer. Bought a $20 8gb ram stick to increase ram to 16gb. Found a YouTube video on how to install and it was easy as pie. Fast and can run all my game. HP has a winner.

Pros: Solid Performance for Gaming: The AMD Ryzen 5-7535HS processor is excellent for multitasking and mid-range gaming. It handles modern games on medium to high settings at 1080p smoothly. The Radeon RX 6550M GPU is capable of running games like Fortnite, Warzone, or Valorant at respectable frame rates (typically 60–90 FPS on medium settings). Fast SSD Storage: The 512GB SSD offers fast boot times and quick game loading. It also provides decent space for a few large games and applications. Efficient DDR5 Memory: The 8GB DDR5 RAM is a step up in speed compared to DDR4, but it’s a bit limiting for resource-heavy games or multitasking (more on that below). Design & Build Quality: The Mica Silver finish is sleek and modern. The laptop feels sturdy, and the keyboard offers decent travel for comfortable gaming or typing. Good Display: The Full HD 15.6" screen delivers sharp visuals, and the colors are vibrant enough for gaming and streaming content. Cons: Limited RAM: While DDR5 memory is fast, 8GB is restrictive for gaming and multitasking. Many modern games and applications benefit from 16GB or more, and you may experience occasional stutters or slowdowns when running demanding games or multiple programs. GPU Performance Is Entry-Level: The RX 6550M is good for casual and mid-range gaming but struggles with newer AAA titles on high or ultra settings. For gamers seeking higher performance, a stronger GPU (like an NVIDIA RTX 3060) would be more suitable. Thermal Management: The cooling system keeps the laptop from overheating during casual use but can get noisy under load, especially during extended gaming sessions. Limited Storage for Power Users: 512GB fills up quickly if you install large games like Call of Duty or Red Dead Redemption 2 alongside other programs. Battery Life: As with most gaming laptops, battery life is not a strong suit. Expect 3–5 hours during casual use and significantly less while gaming. Recommendations for Improvement: Upgrade the RAM to 16GB for smoother performance in modern games and multitasking. Consider adding an external SSD or upgrading internal storage if you need more room for games and files. Who Is This Laptop For? This laptop is ideal for casual gamers, students, or professionals looking for a budget-friendly gaming laptop with a good balance of performance and features. It’s also a good option for those new to PC gaming who don’t need top-tier specs but want a reliable device for 1080p gaming. Final Thoughts: The HP Victus 15.6" is a solid entry-level gaming laptop with decent performance for its price. While there are areas for improvement (RAM and GPU power), it provides good value for casual gaming and everyday use. If you're on a budget and want a sleek, modern gaming laptop, the Victus is worth considering.

This laptop offers solid performance for its price point. The AMD processor handles most modern games and multitasking with ease. The full HD display is vibrant and clear, making for an enjoyable gaming experience. The design is sleek and modern, and the keyboard is comfortable for extended use. Overall, a great option for a budget-friendly gaming laptop.

I bought this laptop when it was on sale for $425, making it a excellent deal given its hardware. The Ryzen 5 CPU is a solid performing mid-range chip but the Radeon RX 6550M is an entry level GPU. It can easily handle low to mid level games, but will struggle with the AAA graphical beasts unless you lower the settings. If you have the extra money, upgrading the RAM with a second 8 GB stick is a good idea. The laptop has only 1 SSD slot, but I recommend upgrading this to 1 TB if you can. At the sales price, an excellent basic gaming laptop, although I bought it for a travel laptop because of the low sales price.

This has been my favorite purchase in the last couple of years. I was leery at first with only being 8gb of ram. However, it's been handling everything I though at it. The game I frequent mostly is Palia, and Apex. There's an omen boost; that helps free up ram speed when you start a game. Both look great. Zero complaints. Also was my first introduction to window snap. and being able to dual window screen and have it load and be responsive has been a game changer.

Honestly very impressed! It’s powerful enough to play gta v at high-ultra settings at 70fps. I did upgrade the ram to 16gbs. Only downside is the battery life that could have been a little better
