I actually bought this computer for college work even though its a gaming computer. So far so good

Bought this before Black Friday (as it turns out at the same price it was on sale for during Black Friday) and didn't have it set up until after Black Friday because I wanted to compare other laptops on sale during Black Friday to make sure I wanted to keep it. I didn't need a gaming laptop, but after comparing all the different laptops in the same Black Friday sale price range this one came out on top hands down. It was a lot faster and had a lot more features than all the others. I don't care that it's a little heavier. I actually like it because it feels sturdier. Other reviewers have complained about the battery time so I am trying to keep an eye on that. So far it's been ok. One thing I love is the backlit keyboard. Never had one before and it is really beneficial to me. The only problem is that at first I couldn't find out how to turn the backlit keyboard on, When I checked HP support they gave a picture for it that didn't match any of the pictures on my F keys. I finally figured out that you need to press FN and F4 together to turn it on and off. Had it installed for free at my home through totaltech. So glad I purchased totaltech with it.

Good, for casual games. It's heavy, but even so it's good for daily uses

Very Good for 500$ on sale. RAM is too little at 8GB but will be easily upgradeable down the line.

So far I like this computer, for gaming and personal use. This is my only computer. What I like about it is the upgradability of the RAM and hard drive. Upgrade my ram to 64GB, but that is overkill. Other than that, it is a good computer for multipurpose. One thing I do not like about this computer is the battery life. it is very small and short.

Great CPU, decent low end GPU, good keyboard and display. Easy to add 8GB RAM so it can run some bigger games.

This machine rocks. Quick, responsive, excellent video and reasonably priced for the package.
