However, some users have expressed concerns about its battery life, lack of a viewfinder, and poor performance in low-light conditions.

It is definitely a cute little camera that is small enough to carry around and take videos/photos. Be aware that if you want to do time-lapse photography you'll nee to carry another (iOS or Android) device to do so. Also, the battery life is pretty bad . . . I took the HTC RE on a long hike to do a time-lapse of the sunset and it died after about an hour of doing so.

Bought this for my daughter to take on a hiking trip for science class at school. Was simple to operate for both stills and video and compact and light. She enjoyed it and it captured some nice footage and still frames and a whole lot less complicated than a GoPro (although i do like them too)..

This is a good alternative to the GoPro. It takes crystal clear photos and video. It is small and has a funny shape but does the job. I bought the accessories to attach but haven't used them yet. The only thing I wish you could do was zoom. It has a wide angle which is great for vistas and group photos but I would still like this option.

I bought this camera in preparation of a few trips I have coming up this year. Oregon, Disneyland, etc. I haven’t been on those trips yet, but I have used it out at the coast. Takes excellent pictures at great quality. The slow mo video is fun too, especially if you have a dog. Battery doesn’t last super long, but I make sure when I am at a stopping point, I shut the camera off through the app on my phone to help save battery life. Camera is not meant for super up close pictures (example, the jellyfish at Monterey aquarium.) But it’s great for the outdoors, and the popular selfies. I love how fast it uploads pictures to my phone (LG G3) for me to share the pictures right away on social media and through text messages. Highly recommend it.

I bought it as a gift to my girlfriend to use for our trip to Orlando and Miami. We did not want to bring a heavy camera or drain our phone batteries while having fun in Disney and Universal Studio. This little thing served its purpose. It is very light, small, and fast.

The HTC RE camera takes extremely wide angle photos or HD video. Viewing and most controls are through Bluetooth connection to your Android phone or iphone. 16 MP image sensor with image stabilization has good performance in low-light indoor settings, and even better in bright light outdoors. It can take up to a 64GB microsd card, charges with standard micro-usb charger, and is waterproof to 1 meter. Mounting accessories are available, it also has a standard threaded base for tripod mound. The video quality is much better than I expected. I'm very satisfied.

Easy and fun. Not bulky. I thought the delay in seeing the pictures would be a problem but it's not. The wide angle includes so much at such a high resolution, I just crop what I want.

I love this camera for what it is. It is small and convenient. Doesn't take the best pics per as there is no viewfinder but the videos are a joy to look at as they are often shot at very odd perspectives that make them interesting to view. Be forewarned this is not a go pro or a substitute for an action camera. It's just a fun camera.

The biggest advantage is the portability of this 16Mp shooter; the disadvantage is that it can be touchy to link with a wi-fi device. It is easy to pocket, and with the optional outdoor pack, it can go anywhere, including underwater! It shoots acceptable video for such a low price, and it is ready to go as soon as you pick it up.

Got this last year around Black Friday for $100. Love it. Super handy, always at the ready and takes really good pictures and video. The sound pick up is always really clear as well. The real problem is because it's always "on", I press the bottom sometimes while it's in my pocket and it's taking video and gets real hot. The software isn't perfect but a lot better than when it first came out. I've used it for skiing while it was snowing heavily with no worries and dunked in streams without ever a problem. The angle of view is so wide you don't have to worry if you're aiming properly, and if the photo isn't perfect, the photo is large (16mp) you can always edit the photo later. Highly recommended.

    Great Little Camera

This little camera is fantastic. It's an action camera that is ready for you whenever you pick it up. That's right, it's ready to go without an on/off switch to press. It has a sensor inside the periscope shaped body that knows when you are holding it and turns on automatically into a standby mode waiting for your commands. Press the button on the back in just the right spot for your thumb and it springs to life. A quick press will take a photo and a longer press will activate the video. There isn't a viewfinder so you have to wait until you check either through the phone app or downloaded to your computer how the pictures and videos turned out. This isn't so much of an issue because with the wide angle lens, whatever you're trying to capture will most likely end up in the shot. The beauty of this is that you don't spend your time focused on the camera and can pay attention to what's going on around you in the real world. When you DO check out what you've captured, you might be pleasantly surprised. This thing takes some really nice video. Very high detail and on a laptop it looks like I'm back wherever it was I took the shot. Same with photos. Really nice. I took off a star because the battery doesn't last very long before needing a recharge and sometimes, getting it to connect with the phone app which it does through your WIFI settings can be clunky and take a few tries. Maybe a software path in the future can smooth this out. It seems to be priced a little high but I'm sure it will settle into a range it's supposed to be in. I'll assume it's because this is a new type of camera and will have to find its market segment. I hope it stays around because it really does come in handy.

I purchased this camera on a whim because I'm getting married in Hawaii and I thought it would be great to have an underwater camera. I didn't do much research.... After testing the camera at home I realized that it had a lot of issues connecting with my phone and the low light pictures were sub-par. I decided to return the camera after 2 days, and after a lot of research I ended up purchasing a Sony Action cam for a little bit more money. The Sony is amazing and I'm having a blast with it. The HTC was an ok camera but if you are going to spend the money on an action camera, I would highly suggest the Sony or Go Pro options.

This camera turns out to be great. In day light pics are great clarity is good and it has a wide angle so you are not worried to fit everyone in a some small area. We went out with more than 12 friends and the one group pic you can take with everyone...sounds good. I tried at night but I think because of no flash this wont be of that much use. You can also sync up Re to your tablet or cell phone and get the pics videos also you can put it on tripod and use app to take pic. I will say this product is worth buying.

A Fun Camera on the High Side

I like the camera- great ergonomics, and it takes good pictures and video. My only thing is that I have to keep referring back to the guide to see what the lights mean on the front and back. I found myself accidentally taking photos or shooting video when I was just trying to look the thing over. I think the list price is too high though. I think it would be more attractive at a $129 list $99 sale, but I guess HTC knows what it needs to make for these to turn a profit. I just thought it was a little pricey for what is essentially a fun toy.

Pictures with good lighting look great Low light not so much pictures look pixelated kind of low quality, water proof is a +. For those times you don't want to wait for a slow phone to bring up the camera, just point and shoot. Won't miss the target even if you try!

Takes great pictures and convenient to carry and charge. Need to look through your phone to see what pics it's taking...which took a little to adjust to. A little pricey if I had not gotten it on sale.

I purchased this, as an open box item, for just under 100 dollars, based on a review from Phandroid.com (written by Chris Chavez). Chris was 100% accurate in his assessment of this accessory as an absolute must have, especially at a sale price. I am not a big camera expert and don't own a DSLR, but this device makes me enjoy taking pics. And, forget about the need for a selfie stick, cuz your arms are too short to get a lot of people in the pic. This thing, with the extra wide angle option, is such a great accessory, especially for people like myself, who are novice photographers. It doesn't have flash, so using at nightime isn't much of an option, but in any situation with good lighting...I highly recommend this. And, it is supposed to work with iOS and Android.

this camera has good picture quality and really nice video. it tears up easily with a tablet so you can clearly see what you were taking pictures of. there are limited number of mounts for it, but it is fun to use as an action camera.
