The battery is permanently sealed in phone so your not able to "re-boot" that way or get a replacement battery. The glass screen is also sealed and carriers are unable to replace when cracked so need to spend a lot more on outside vendors to replace

HTC One Superior Design beats Samsung Galaxy S4

HTC One Superior Design Beats Samsung Galaxy S4 by Far! Most of the reviews on Samsung S4 have not been favorable, and I have to say I agree with them. I’ve tested S4 intensively for 3 days. It is a OK phone, but certainly not a great one. It is an updated S3, we may call it S3S (like iPhone 4S) rather than S4. S4 is noisy and complex, I can only see minor enhancements from S3. As most of the reviews recommend – Don’t buy Galaxy S4, there is a much better alternative – HTC One is the choice! HTC One has marvelous aluminum body, dual BEATS front speakers, excellent camera, much better screen resolution, and twice the base memory for the same price. HTC One is refined, quite, comfortable, beautiful, elegant, and above all, simply pleasant. I love using this phone. I would certainly recommend HTC instead of Samsung or other Android phones. HTC One is a far more superior phone physically and has much more fresh interface to boost. Great job, HTC!

The phone is aesthetically pleasing and thats the only good thing i can say about. The physical controls are awkwardly placed and the images on the screen are 2nd rate. I would give this phone an overall rating of 3 out of 10.

Could be smaller in size for better pocket carry. Should have longer battery life. Sprint service is absolutely terrible. Cannot use phone in home or cabin. Claim tower upgrade is problem--why are all towers being upgraded at same time??!!!! Would like to have louder ring tone. Continuous downloads are annoying and use up battery.

    Basically the best

I upgraded to this phone from an HTC Evo 4g LTE, so I know the HTC interface and all that. -The speakers are by far the best I've ever heard on a phone, and even better than some compact boom boxes (honestly) -The 4 "ultra-pixel" camera is better than my old 8 mega-pixel camera so I was pleasantly surprised. -Screen quality is the absolute best available and everything is more than 100% clear and sharp, I swear. -Performance, this phone is the fastest phone I've ever used, opening applications, turning on, installing applications, the camera is extremely quick even on action shots. Basically, if you're on the edge of GS4 and this phone, would you rather have a .3inch larger screen that is less clear, an interface that looks childish, and a very cheap/plasticy feeling device, or an elaborate, yet still minimal and mature interface, 4.7 inch 468 ppi screen wrapped in beautiful solid aluminum with 2 of the loudest and best sounding phone speakers ever to be made. I guess that's your choice to be made. And don't even consider the battery and SD card removal argument, the iPhone has been made that way since day 1 and I haven't seen anyone not buy it because of that, so don't be that person. Oh and a 32GB HTC One is the same price as a 16GB GS4. So where's the better value? You tell me.

The 3 B's on why the HTC One is a Beast!!!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The blink-feed is a beast and I got to say I wasn't to impressed about it when it first debut in march but after using it I love it!Almost kind of competes with GS4 multitasking feature cause it brings up all your news, tweets, Facebook news feed, favorite TV shows times all at once and being able to share that information easily with your friends. Also while I was using it in the gym while doing cardio I found out I could increase the font on my news so I could read it better while I was on the elliptical. I don't know why would anyone root their phone to remove this from their home screen because like I said it a beast! 2nd "B" is for the battery life is a beast!!! I watched a 60minute video off YouTube with my WiFi turned on and it only dropped down to 80%. Also the 1080p video quality off some of the YouTube videos made me feel like I was watching it off my own LCD/LED TV. I use have an HTC EVO3D and if that would have been my EVO3D it would practically be dead. With the EVO3D i had to download an app just to save battery life on my phone cause for some reason with that last update they had took away power save mode. With the HTC One I can get through most of my day without having to charge it up only con I'd have to say is that takes longer to charge up. Also if you are a very heavy user with your phone you can always get the Mophie case device that extends your battery to 4700mah so don't worry about the non removable back. That was also another concern to me not being able to remove the back for battery or SD card but if DropBox going to give you 25GB of extra storage and the battery well efficient I guess it doesn't matter. Especially if anyone has owned an iPhone. Now finally the 3rd "B" is for Beats Audio is a beast on this phone! sounds like some Bose speakers. I don't care for the ears buds though cause they don't stay in your ears but any other headset you still get the same quality. Also when you play your music you can have a visualization come up and it will bring down the lyrics of the song and play along with the song. If you have the right information of the song Gracenote also gets the album covers for you even if you only got the artist name in there or song title and to anyone that has an iphone knows how much of a pain that can be just to have a album cover for a song. The visualization are so amazing I was just staring at them the whole time I was doing my cardio in the gym. One thing though I would recommend uninstalling Google music player just because the phone already comes with a music player and if you open both up at the same time you will get duplicates in your music library and only way to fix that is delete all your music and reloaded it from the CPU. Also the call quality is good too with the boom sound speakers. Also if you are worried about the 4MP ultra pixel camera which I was pretty skeptic of when I was looking at reviews for months about the HTC One to tell you the truth I can barely see the difference between this 4MP ultra pixel and a 13MP camera. Then the feature with using your phone as a TV remote is amazing. I clicked on my favorite TV show on my phone it brought up the channel and the show happened to be on at the same time too. Also for people thinking about getting the GS4 I've had played with most of the phone features when my wife got the phone but nothing made me feel like I would need to switch from my HTC One to the GS4. I would definitely recommend this phone over the GS4 even though I liked some features with the GS4 like S-travel, multitasking, and the way the layout their calendar, contacts, and memos but the display is a little over saturated and HTC One shows the true color perspective and the design, the way it feels executed a lot better than the GS4 and where ever you think the HTC One phone lacks in the HTC One makes it up somewhere else making this phone the ONE!

    Everything your phone isn't

This phone is work of art that does everything so well. There are no gimmicks that may work inconsistently like the S4. The built quality is unmatched by anything on the market..... By a long shot. The speakers on this device make watching a movie a whole new experience! I usually root my phone immediately for performance gains, not this one. Complaints I might have (me nit picking) would be that there aren't enough sources for the blink feed, and the fact the the thin profile and aluminum body make for a phone that slips out of the pocket rather easily. For that I got an otter box. Do yourself a favor and get this phone before you try anything else. Truly an amazing piece of work.

DO NOT BUY. The sales rep at best buy recommended another phone but did not really give a reason as to why because I seemed really interested in device... after a week of having the phone i returned it and got a samsung s3. The htc one has horrible video pixel and camera pixels. The camera sucks and when you play a video on youtube you cant even see the peoples faces...overall not a good buy.

The HTC One flaunts a stunning metal design, powerful quad-core processor, and a beautiful 4.7-inch 1080p screen. It runs Android Jelly Bean, takes great pictures, and has a feature-packed camera app.

One of the Best Options for Android

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This phone gives the Galaxy S4 some great competition. Its strong points: -Best low light camera performance compared w/ S4 -Best looking android device due to aluminum unibody construction -Front facing speakers are amazing w/ Beats Audio Only issues I have have to do with the volume button and power button. They sit pretty plush with the device and can be hard to press. Also the location of the power button makes it difficult for one hand operation. Also the phone charges pretty slow. People suspect they disabled fast charging features to save the batteries lifetime performance. Other things buyers might want to consider when choosing between this and the Galaxy S4 is the no removable battery or expandable storage. I do not mind, and those coming from the iPhone won't notice a difference. But if you are the type that likes to throw in a 64GB microSD card and like to swap batteries on the go you might want to go with another option.

I was debating on whether to pick this phone or wait for the samsung s4 and so far I am glad I chose this phone. The phone looks beautiful and love that is not plastic. The speed on the phone has impressed me and like the phone speakers it sounds really good when watching video on the phone. It has a transfer feature that allows you to transfer data from your previous phone with no issues, it is really easy and fast no cords or nothing needed. Like I mention it has no sd card slot so this transfer feature is really nice and now everything is being stored on the cloud.

    HTC Keeps Keeping Me Happy

I upgraded to this from an HTC EVO 4G, and before that, an HTC Hero. In order to get what I wanted on the others I had them rooted. Loved them after the root. The only issue I've had so far is that I am not able to use a few of the apps that I used before - because I have not rooted this one yet. Still unsure whether I want to leave as is or root. I may go ahead and root, just because I hate bloatware. So far, I have been very pleased with this purchase. I love the camera and the Zoe feature. Very cool. Love the HTC Share feature. No need to send a huge photo files via text. Just a link and it looks like you're a photo pro. The sound is awesome. I'm not usually into listening to music on my phone, but this makes me want to load all of my music on it. The only issue with the speakers is that its lowest setting is still a bit too loud to play at my desk at work. I haven't found a decent pair of earbuds but I am on the look out. The set that came with the phone is nice, but the style doesn't it my ear like I want. I really do like the old-fashioned buds. I gave the pair to my son. He loves them. I do wish the One had a kickstand. I loved that about the EVO. The next case I purchase will definitely have a kickstand. (Oh, when purchasing a case, make sure the speakers are not covered.# I am still deciding if I like the BlinkFeed feature. At first I could not stand it. Since I've figured out how to customize and moved it from the home screen, I can tolerate it better. I did not like it being the first thing I saw when I open the phone. I like that there are functions similar to iOS on this Android. I really love that I can add folders as I do on my iPad. Before the One, I had a trying time going back and forth between my tablet and my phone. I'd perform a certain gesture on my EVO and get frustrated that it didn't work. hah. Now with this phone, I'm a bit closer to having both my tablet and phone perform in some similar ways. As far as battery life is concerned, I think the One has pretty good life. However it could be that my EVO was so old, that I practically had to keep it on charge most of the time. I was impressed when I listened to 5 straight hours of music on the One and it used up lessthan half the battery life. I watch a two hours of streaming video on my iPad, and I'm needing a charge. There was no way, I'd watch or listen to music on my EVO without it being plugged in to the charger. So far I've been able to let the battery go for a day and a half with out recharging. I like that. But, I am just on my second week using this phone. One thing I wasn't happy about was that the phone has no card slot. But then once I loaded all the apps I like #and then some), I still had 23G of space left. Not to mention the storage offered by Dropbox. Very impressive. Oh, the HTC Share feature... Love it. I could go on and on about this phone. I love it and have already recommended it to several friends and family members.

Totally an outstanding phone worth owning

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is by far the best phone I have ever owned. Prior to this I owned an HTC EVO and Loved it then I switched to a Samsung Galaxy SII and was not overly impressed with the phone. The screen is awesome and responsive with no noticeable lag. The apps load fast. The signal quality is way better then my Samsung Galaxy SII. I have yet to play with the camera but I need a camera for low light areas so this was a plus. The Galaxy SII has a great camera but it was the only feature I actually liked about it. The phone does get warm when used for long periods of time but quickly cools off when not active. If you hold the phone in your left hand it will interfere with your cell phone reception. I verified this but I hardly ever hold the phone and talk as I am a heavy BT user. The speakers are amazingly loud compared to my other cell phones. I wish this has a kickstand but its not a deal breaker. The quality of this phone is outstanding and its not bloated with applications you will never use. I am fortunate to have 4G LTE in my area and its a major improvement over 3G and the 4G WiMax was just awful. Many complain about the low profile of the buttons but I actually appreciate the low profile because they are not easily triggered when in my case like the Galaxy SII which use to change the volume on my calls when it was in my case with the buttons faced down. I assume the Galaxy S4 is an awesome phone but because the Galaxy SII was not a good experience for me I decided to go back to HTC. This is actually my 3rd HTC Device and I have no regrets and would recommend this phone to anyone especially if they are in a 4G LTE coverage area. While the battery life is acceptable its not quite up to the advertised spec because when you run apps and actually have the screen active it does consume the battery. No having a user replaceable if somewhat of a concern but I have never used a phone more then 2 yrs and typically I get a high capacity battery to increase phone time. Still overall the battery does last the day and over time that will degrade as is the case with all batteries.. Not having the ability to insert an SD Card was a concern but if needed I can always connect a flash drive to the phone and do the same thing but with online storage so abundant its not a deal breaker and the 32GB of storage in the phone is more then enough to hold all my apps and data leaving plenty of room. Besides without rooting and updating the ROM you can't move apps to SD so why risk bricking a phone for that so the 32 GB of RAM should be more then enough. I never need to store movies and music on my phone because I can access that content off my servers thus increasing the usefulness of the phone even more. If you have a home server running the right software you can expand you experience with this or any smart phone. Its all good stuff for sure.
