Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The new MacBooks, Pro and Air, have none of the standard USB ports anymore, so simply inserting a thumb drive is not possible. Apple keeps doing things like this that seem to make no sense. Perhaps the plan is to sell more accessories. I was lucky and found this docking station on sale so the price was good. At regular price, I might have looked harder for another option since I probably won't need the photo card port.

Essential Accessory

Have used it to charge an iPhone and Beats headphones. Also to transfer files via a portable USB drive. Don’t buy a MacBook Pro without one.

Just one more thing I have to remember to carry. But a side from that it's well made with a metal finish. It gets a little hot, but it works very well

Great- but not the best

Wish it had a vga attachment for older PowerPoint/projectors. Also- bought this at Best Buy when I bought my airbook- only wish I’d waited. Other brands (maybe knock offs- but WAY cheaper) online.
