You really need this docking station to allow for other applications. A definite go to. Unsure if the item with loosen the existing ports, though. Time will tell, and if they do, I'll not be happy.

Our family just purchased two of the Apple MacBook Pros with the M1 chip. These hubs worked like a charm. They stay put and perfectly connected to the MacBook if it were part of the laptop itself. Every port worked seamlessly. Worth every penny.

I specifically asked the sales associate if this adapter would interfere with the charging port of my MacBook Air…he assured me it would not. It does. I cannot use the adapter at the same time as I am charging my laptop. Dumb design!!! To be fair, the adapter does its job though.

With apple now removing all ports on their MacBook airs besides their own unique connector, a product like this is a must for all MacBook owners if you want to connect to a USB or HDMI. I have been very pleased with the product so far. The construction feels very high quality and durable, and it looks pretty sharp as well. I've had it for about a year now with no issues. The leather case it comes with is a nice touch as well. The only issue I have had with it is that sometimes USBs seem to stick in the port and I have to pull harder than seems necessary to remove them. The product is also pretty pricey, and you could probably find a similar product for cheaper.

A necessary accessory. I think it should come with the computer. I also think it could attach more securely to the computer. The opening is too wide and it comes out too easily.
