A great device for a Thunderbolt setup.

The difference is it plugs directly to your regular MacBook Pro twin ports. The thing that I like is the magnetic attachment to the laptop. No wires to deal with.

I had tried other brands and they had failed. This was for a new MacBook Air. As Apple is becoming Stier and Stier with their interfaces. I had to buy this to even upload my photographs from my camera. my issues with the other ones was interfacing with my camera program to do live shoots and so on. The other ones would not stay connected and this one seems to be doing just fine. There has not been a disconnect from the program at all at this point.

If you are buying a new MacBook Air, you should buy this device as it will enable you to transfer pics and docs between your SD card and other devices and your macbook. It's worth the additional $$ you'lll spend

(USB(-A) are Not included in Current Macbook Pro's) A bit pricey with ports I don't need but, a good quick fix! Nicely designed. 90% perfect!... I shoulda paid $15 less but, its really good for current Mac Pros. IMHO

This new one is better than the original. My main complaint about the original is the way it sat when plugged in. This new one has a plastic gasket that sits between the computer and the hyperdrive, it solid and stable. The finish matches the silver matches my silver macbook well, so much so, that it looks like an Apple product. I do feel like the price point is a but high, like Apple premium high.

It has an SD slot, USB-C for power, USB-C for transfer, & 2 USB-A slots. I’ve used multiple peripherals on it at once and haven’t had any issues. It also comes with a USB-C cord adapter and works well with the iPad Mini 6

Multiport adapter for MacBook Pro

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This was exactly what I need, I’ve been looking for a way to be able to connect more things into my MacBook Pro, and this was the solution, I appreciate the different attachments in the box for certain models of MacBook Pro’s, and the all aluminum build is really nice it does not feel cheap, would certainly recommend and buy again if I could.

I was especially happy about the extra audio jack because I didn't even know that the Mac could output to multiple places without a special driver. I have so much USB-A stuff that those ports are useful, and I am glad to have SD/Micro-SD access like my Thinkpad has. HDMI works good, too!

The Hyper - HyperDrive Next 8 attaches securely to my MacBook Pro and provides all ports needed for a hub. It disengages easily for laptop portability.
