If it worked with a protective cover on the computer it might be a good product. What is more important my computer’s safety or a streamlined hub?

Surprised at all the positive reviews for something that shouldn't be needed in the first place. If Apple would build these into the laptop in the first place we wouldn't have to spend the extra $100 for an accessory that might get lost, loose (see other reviews), etc. Since the laptop didn't come with a DVD drive (sigh) the sales associate talked us into buying this instead of spending money on a single-purpose dongle for a standard USB external DVD drive. Turns out the hyper-drive doesn't have enough power (per Best Buy) for the DVD drive as when you plug it in you says need to plug it directly into the laptop.

This device gets very hot, very quickly. It burned out after 2 days of use. Will be sticking to OEM products moving forward.

When plugged in, the device works well and something like this is a must have accessory for me. I've consistently had issues with the USB C plug closest to me staying seated in the USB C port on my MacBook. My external hard drive frequently disconnects while using if the laptop shifts positions much at all. I don't have the same issue with the hard drive plugged directly into the same port, so the issue is with this device. I would not purchase this again given its high relative cost compared to other available hubs.

I bought this usb-c for my 2019 MacBook Pro and none of the ports worked. I returned it, thinking the device was defective and received another one. The second one did not work either. I also noticed that with the first device, the leather pocket came in a paper bag, but when I received the replacement device, the leather pocket did not come in a bag. I believe that I received some open box products, but I don't know. It's just strange that I had two of these and neither of them worked.

This item was purchased based to connect devices to new laptop with UBS-c but the devices did not work when connected. Seemed like it wouldn't power the devices such as GPS.

The hub has everything you would want except it doesn’t fit into my MacBook Pro tightly and as a consequence comes disconnected easily. Not a great buy

A must have for a 2017 MacBook Pro

I finally purchased a new MacBook Pro and knew that I would have to get some kind of adapters for it. I was looking for something that had multiple ports and cost around the same as the Apple adapters. This hub has all the ports that I need and then some. It's much cheaper to buy this instead of buying multiple adapters from Apple. The hub plugs into the two USB-C ports and you have to push it with a little bit of force to get it to connect. Once it's connected, it doesn't feel loose. There's a light on the front indicating if it's powered on. All of the ports work on my hub and I have no issues with devices connect. The HDMI is great for an external monitor or to hook up to your TV and works with ease. Both USB 3.0 ports are great and if you need an SD or Micro SD card reader, these are perfect. I love that these come in both Space Gray and Silver, so they can match your MacBook Pro. The one down fall is that to use this adapter, you cannot have a case on the MacBook at all. It plugs in flush to the MacBook Pro, so if you use a case you'll have to take the bottom part off. Overall, this does what I need and is perfect for anyone looking for multiple ports for one price.
