Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the HyperDrive 7-Port USB C Hub's numerous USB ports, ease of use, and compact size, finding it convenient for expanding their MacBook's connectivity. However, some customers express concerns regarding compatibility issues, the price point, connection stability, and the device's tendency to generate heat. The sleek design is frequently praised. Despite some drawbacks, many appreciate the added ports and user-friendliness.

Only goes up to 4K@30hz on built-in HDMI port. It's snug against the computer so you won't be able to use a shell case with this product. The microSD/SD card slots, extra USB 3/USB-C ports, and Thunderbolt passthrough ports are nice in a small, portable package.

I got mine through Indiegogo. It works perfect, has all the ports I need and, looks slick with my Macbook Pro. Other dongles in the market are cumbersome compared to this design. Just realize they are in store now! I am going to get one for my sister.

Must have for Travelers, Not great for Engineers.

Reuse. : 0 / 10 Design. : 8 / 10 Worth it? ($): 10/10 if traveling and have the specific MacBook Worth It? ($): 7 / 10 if at a desk and have the specific MacBook. Bottom Line: 7.5. It's a one trick pony that almost costs the same as a Full Hub. (I rate this 7.5 with the idea it says MacBook only on it so I can't knock it too greatly for not supporting ANYTHING else. If the ports slid just a tiny amount it would be on every developers laptop.) My Experience: It was almost a beautiful day when I saw the MacBook and HP Spectre x360 both had side by side USB-C ports. As these ports do not have an up or down (theoretically) I thought for sure this would fit the HP Spectre x360 15". I mention this products details only due to the dimensions of the ports being two millimeters off target to mirroring the Apple MacBook. It's quite unfortunate neither designer could create a "USB-C" placement spec. It would make these types of USB-C hubs MUST HAVES, alas "we're" still not there yet. It's a good stable and hearty box. I can't imagine using it at a desktop nor constantly as I frequently trip, drag, rip out and fling corded devices at least once a day. If you're like me then be cautious of breaking your !!MacBook!! itself as this product is built well. It's extremely light, feels good in the hand and matches color well. For the size it fixes all the port issues with the new MacBook. Apple should have bought this company and shipped this device with all the new MacBooks. It would raised their Brand Value instead of lowering it (subjective. This whole review is subject.) It's easily worth the cost if one Travels frequently with their MacBook as it fits in the pocket. Don't leave it sticking out. However, If one is stationary most of their day I recommend waiting for the Upcoming 2k and 4K IPS Monitors which can support everything this product does AND will also Power the laptop. All over the same cord or two. Side Note about USB-C, USB 3.x and Thunderbolt 3. The connector is the same for both, the features behind it aren't. The connector is the one with the letter "-C" at the end. If something says "USB-C" it doesn't mean all that much except to say the holes will fit. It doesn't mean anything else will work. So be sure your device AND cable supports all that you'd want. Both support DisplayPort Alt Mode and HDMI AltMode and USB 3.x hubs so it fills the needs of 90%, hence why I believe products get by just saying "USB-C" instead of trying to distinguish between the options. Yay for reducing port types, boo on the naming of the port. I'll optimistically hypothesize the name of the port is the main reason it's being adopted so fast. This is a good thing. It's frustrating now but trust me. We had USB 2.0 for too long because of "fears." So lets all go with the flow and support the change to "One Connector, One Cable. To rule them all."

I've had this hub for several months now, I like the solid feel and the fact that I can use both the Micro and SD card slots at the same time. It allows me to use the larger USB slots for Twitch Streaming which I really like. Overall, a great product.

Get this before any other dongle

There is finally a truly universal serial bus, but all your devices don't use it and suddenly you realize how profitable it must be to be in the dongle business. This device reduces quite a bit of the clutter and is versatile and portable. After I was issued my MacBook Pro, I spent enough on individual dongles to buy a couple of these first. I still need specialty dongles for connecting to an older Cintiq Tablet, but you'd rather use this than drown in dongles.
