I'm glad that this is the same material and finish as my Space Grey MBP. It fits great on the left side, and works on the right, though it sits a little higher than the bottom edge of the laptop and you can't use the headphone jack in this position. This has not bothered me during use, it's only a visual complaint. I like that there's a light that indicates that it's plugged in successfully. I have noticed that it's kind of difficult ejecting USBs without unplugging the hub from the laptop. The last USB drive seems finicky, so I find sometimes I have to make sure to push the hub more firmly and it works properly. It comes with a (probably faux) leather case with magnetic closures which is absolutely great for keeping it safe and clean in your bag when you aren't using it. I would absolutely buy this again, and recommend it to anyone purchasing a MBP. I gave it 4 stars due to the few minor complaints. I'd give it 5 stars if it was exactly as is but at a lower price point.

Great Accessory for 2016 MacBook Pro’s HyperDrive Thunderbolt 3 will finally give me access to all of the ports I frequently use. Thunderbolt 3 comes with the HDMI, Thunderbolt, USBC-C, Micro SD, SD, and two USB 3.0 ports. I have been looking everywhere and I finally found an accessory that will enable me to even hook up my 4K Sony TV. What is also great is that it is very sturdy and sleek. I can throw it in my carrying MacBook case and pull it out when I need the extra ports at a coffee shop that I frequently visit. I would highly recommend this great and awesome accessory to anyone. Thanks a lot for making this!

Good storage but the USB connection port got wobbly after a short time

I just upgraded too a MacBook pro over the weekend, and I knew I had to get an adapter. this one was what I exchanged for when I brought a different item. At first, the first hyper hub i had, didnt work. It didn't light up letting me know that it was not working. Nothing I did was working so it made me think that I was doing something wrong. But in the end, it wasn't me. It was the hub. Now fast forward to today when i exchanged to a new one and I was finally able to get the thing to work! BUT, the usb port will not read my external hard drive so that ONLY means I have to go back to best buy and get another adapter for usb! So just add on to the cost!!! I am starting to miss my MacBook air! it had usb ports. I did some research and come to find out that the usb ports stopped working for MacBook pros. So what is the point!!! I need the usb!

I use this hub for my 15" 2018 MacBook Pro (space grey) and it is amazing! It has all the ports I need and blends really well into the computer. I saw a lot of reviews saying that the port itself was a little shaky which is what I thought at first but I found that you have to push it in (harder than you may think) and you'll hear a little click which means it's secure and then you shouldn't have any problems with it. Overall, it works wonderful and does exactly what I need it to. Yes, it is a little pricey but I'm confident it will last you for a long time.

Great for macbook, as it don't have port for pendrives.

I purchased this product with my new MacBook Pro only to find that it would only work when you held it just right while standing on your head with your tongue hanging out. The slightest movement or taking pressure off causes disconnect. I exchanged it only to find that the second one did the same thing, making me think it was the computer. Exchanged the computer only to find the same thing. This product cost my an entire day and set up of 2 computers which too 5-6 hours each. DO NOT BUY!

The USB A ports are tight every time I unplug something the USB C connections get disconnected. messing up monitor and External Hard drive connection. The USB A ports are so bad they broke a wireless keyboad/trackpad dongle. Also when charging through this thing power form apples powerbrick does not run at a 100%. Was running all my cpus at near 100% and my computer shutdown. Not a good product it also does not line up well with mac sticks up a mm.

I just bought a new MacBook Pro. I knew that it only has USB-C ports since last year's models. I also knew about this adapter from a start-up that made this last year. This thing is awesome and much needed. It has everything you need except an Ethernet adapter. If you were to buy all the adapters from Apple, that this drive has, you'd be paying a lot more than $100, and those would take up a lot of space and look tacky. This is clean looking, operates smoothly, and has a lot of, what used to be built in, connections/ ports. Best purchase for my MacBook yet.

A decent dongle that doesn't have ethernet capabilities but allows HDMI and USB-a support. There are better doc's out there

I have had this hub for about six to seven months and I just purchased a different one. The connections are nice to have for the HDMI and USB-C with additional two USB-3 connections. My problem is that it comes disconnected from my MacBook Pro very easily. I have an external display and connect a portable hard drive to it. Every time I try to plug something else in or switch my connections the whole things comes disconnected (ejecting my hard drive improperly or display). If I bump my desk it comes disconnected.

That device is awesome, but PAY ATTENTION: it will not work with Super Drive (Mac's CD driver). So I had to buy an Apple cable so that it could work properly. For the rest, it's awesome.

When purchasing a new MacBook Pro I knew I would need some type of hub and or adaptors since Apple went to all USB-C ports. Came across this little beauty and knew I had to get one. Matches my space grey MacBook Pro nearly perfectly and provides the ports I need at my desk. Will either take with me when I travel for get another one.

This product does NOT work with the newest version Macbook Pro with touch bar. The staff at best buy tried opening 5 different ones and all were lose fitting and did not work. DO NOT BUY if you have a new 2017 version Pro. Bestbuy does not currently carry an adapter that will work.

I actually purchased this for a temporary fix while my CalDigit TS3Plus+ was down and out. Well I have decided that this thing is going to be coming on the road with me when I travel. All of those additional ports make it super nice. LOVE the SD/MicroSD readers. Thunderbolt works great.

I'm not sure if this is defective or just incompatible with my Macbook Pro (2017 15" version). I was going to buy the J5 version, but I was told it only works with the 2016 edition. When I connect the dock to the MBP, it sits a little weird. It kind of leans down, as if it's not a tighter fit. I've tried plugging both a USB 3.0 flash drive and my iPhone via cable into the dock, and neither get recognized. I'll exchange this and update the review if it was just defective.

Any movement at all causes this to become disconnected from the ports and you lose connection to whatever you had plugged in. Right now, I'm working with a highlighter propping it up just in and I just purchased the MacBook Pro and HyperDrive three days ago! Extremely disappointed with this piece of equipment.

I was very happy when I finally got my HyperDrive for Macbook Pro. Not only is it a must have, it is a very nice product which allows me to use all my ports and gives my Macbook Pro what it deserves. The quality is very good and the color matches my Macbook perfectly. I would recommend this to everybody who has a Macbook with the Type C connection. I am ordering a bunch more for the office as we are all switching to the new Macbook Pro soon. Thanks Hyper for giving us the best adapter on the market!

It is very compact & light weight. Multiple uses and I can connect many devices altogether. I had it about a month and very satisfied about this product. Great Buy !!
