Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the HyperDrive 7-Port USB C Hub's numerous USB ports, ease of use, and compact size, finding it convenient for expanding their MacBook's connectivity. However, some customers express concerns regarding compatibility issues, the price point, connection stability, and the device's tendency to generate heat. The sleek design is frequently praised. Despite some drawbacks, many appreciate the added ports and user-friendliness.

Looks clean, like it belongs there...but honestly, there are better prices available. Top quality. Good performance. Good color match. Just too expensive.

Very good port. I wish it would fit my case. Do not get this, if you have a card cover case. It will not fit.

    Loose connection/overheats with fast transfers

The usb-c connection for this is this tiniest bit too large, so you have to really force it in to get a secure connection, but even the slightest bump into the unit causes it to disconnect. Apples dongle doesn't do this despite Hyper leaving a note in the box that says Apple intentionally shrunk the USB-C ports to alleviate loose connections and that they have tested forcing their adapter into the port "hundred of times" without any issue. Odd that they claim that when they are a third party manufacturer. Additionally, when transferring data anything that is high volume and at a fast speed causes it to overheat and temporarily disconnect. Looks-wise its a good match with the alloy of the MacBook, is slim and comes with a tiny leather holder/carrying case but just too many issues.

Good answer for the problem of useless dongles after upgrading a computer. Continues the usefulness of accessories that don't have the new connector.

This is good product and have great potential to be success. Although this is one of the good product I found. The only thing is that it does not have any support in terms of the stability when docked/plugged in to the MacBook Pro. The construction is Plastic which was never mentioned in the description. I'd recommend if it made of Aluminum this will be a hot product.

With the new MacBook Pro having USB-C and everything else I own still running HDMI, USB3 and so on the desk was getting to be a mess. The goal was to find something that was great value, compact and covered all the bases of connection. This fit the bill!

HyperDrive works good, although you have to be careful not to bump or move the laptop or hyperdrive as it may disconnect it from the laptop. May have to remove bottom case to have it fit properly depending on the thickness of your laptop case. Comes with its own protective leather like case.

This Hub provides a very portable solution to providing multiple ports for various devices for my new 15" Macbook Pro. I keep it attached to my portable hard drive when stored in my backpack. It allows me to connect my iPad or iPhone for synching with iTunes using the standard USB cords. The only issue I had was remembering what direction to insert my camera's SD card. When you plug the hub into the right side of the Macbook, the card goes in right side up, when plugged into the left side, it must go in upside down. This is logical but you have to think about it.

Although this device makes importing and hooking things up easier, some of the ports are snug and you really have to yank to get usb’s Out

This Is a really helpful and useful product, as it can be used for just about anything, It will definitely get the job done! Also comes with a neat, little leather pouch. Though, it does get really hot after a while of use. It also scratches up against the side of my MacBook. But still very recommended!

When I had my older MacBook Air, it had the USB ports that I had used to charge my phone and gather data onto my laptop at the time. Since I bought the new MacBook Pro, it does not come with as many ports and only really for charging the laptop itself! I bought the hyperdrive for this laptop and it has everything I need on it like the USB Ports, SD card ports, etc. What I really do like is the SD Card port because I am a Broadcast Journalism major and when I do my fieldwork recordings I can use that port to listen in!

It's functional, and does what I need it to do, however it won't fit if you have a hardshell case on the laptop which is problematic, and so I hardly use it. There are other options if you need them that have a cord and work better.
