This Hub uses both Thunderbolt openings on your Macbook Air. It's an easy way to connect USB flash drives, and other thunderbolt devices. Since it attaches to both the ports on the computer, you have to connect only through this hub, once it's attached. One of the USB-C ports on it is much slower than the other...and one is more like a thunderbolt port. It fits snugly against the Macbook Air, but with it attached the laptop may not fit into your carrying case. It comes with a plastic sleeve, which means the manufacturers probably didn't expect you to keep it attached at all times. I'm not sure I'd want to travel with it attached since jarring against the hub might damage the USB-C prongs. I decided to buy this instead of individual dongles (for HDMI, for USB, etc.) --buying individual dongles would be more expensive, even though this item is very pricey.

Super convenient because it’s literally all dongles in one. The only thing I’m not super crazy about is the fact that it sticks out about an inch out the laptop. But great great product.

This fits well on my MacBook Pro and provides all of the options that I need for my accessories, and I've had no issues with it working with any device. However, it has one major flaw. I have to remove the bottom of my laptop case so it can be flush in the ports.

This HyperDrive works great with my MacBook Pro. It clicks into my laptop tightly with zero wiggle. It works great with my wireless mouse and it reads my SD card on my camera with ease.

This is a great idea to overcome the limited ports on the new Macs, but if you use any protective cover (i.e. Speck) it will not work. The extra 1/16" thickness of the case prevents to plugs from engaging in the sockets.

The hyperdrive is a must have if you want to connect additional utilities. I purchased it so that I can connect to external monitors. It makes it easy so that you don’t have to plug-in and unplug wires as you come and go.

Easy to use and connected to my MacBook laptop with ease. A little pricey though.

Overheats sometimes HDMI can produce 4k images from this little thingy

For someone who loves to take photographs and be able to edit them and transfer on the fly this was a great purchase in addition to our MacBook Pro. Would highly recommend this product.

Apple and their consent quest to reinvent connections to their products causes you to need this device. Fits right onto the side of your Mac and seamlessly adds a whole lot of options.

Had to get used to not having a USB port in my computer but this works as a great alternative.

You must have this for apple macbook. It provides everything that you need and easy to use.

With not having any USB ports for this computer, this accessory comes in great need if you still have USB devices to connect to your computer. The only complaint I have this device was that one of the ports has given out to be able to connect my Thunderbolt cable, however there is probably a warranty that came with the product, so I will look to use that or return to Best Buy to make sure I get another one.

We bought a Mac and the best buy technician recommended this hub for it, along with the Apple "superdrive" to play dvds and CDs in. The superdrive would just not work when connected to this hub, and I did tons of research and reached the conclusion that apple products can only plug into apple products. Great. However, when we returned the superdrive and got a (much cheaper, perfectly fuctional) LG cd drive, the hub served its purpose perfectly. I will say, if you are going to have a case on your Macbook or Air that clips to the bottom of the computer, the hub is a little finicky (it's supposed to fit snugly right next to the computer and a case makes it fit less securely) and you might be better off getting the one-USB Apple Thunderbolt-to-USB cord that doesn't have to stick right to the side of the computer if you only need to use one USB at a time.

Drive has many different connections to connect and small to carry.

Good design and functions great. No problems and I love how small and light it is to tote around.

This Adapter / dongle works great for travel or remote working. I think this is much more convenient that looking through my bag for a specific dongle such as a USB Type C to USB Type A or SD Card Reader, etc. I can pull out this one adapter and know I have all the bases handled. This adapter offers most of all the ports I need on the go and allows pass-through charging.
