Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the HyperDrive 7-Port USB C Hub's numerous USB ports, ease of use, and compact size, finding it convenient for expanding their MacBook's connectivity. However, some customers express concerns regarding compatibility issues, the price point, connection stability, and the device's tendency to generate heat. The sleek design is frequently praised. Despite some drawbacks, many appreciate the added ports and user-friendliness.

This HyperDrive port adapter is a life saver! My laptop still can charge, like it normally would but you have the ability to use standard USB-A ports for a printer as an example.

I purchased this dongle because it is thunderbolt 3 usb c compatible. The brand and quality received good reviews online. No complaints at all, the build is great and it even comes with a convenient rigid pouch.

    Does not work!

It's not reading any of the other ports except thunderbolt ports, for which I have to have my charger connected in order to keep the port functioning but the connection is on and off (you have to have the laptop sitting on flat surface always) AND none of the other ports work. I haven't been able to connect my iPhone. WHAT? Was I just out of luck with this one item or is this just a terrible product overall?

It may be a sleek design and has the additional slots needed to plug necessary devices in but it becomes disconnected insanely easy. The slightest movement of your computer and its disconnected. Not worth it. Buy something else.

I bought this so I could expand my MacBook. It works good but make sure you get it to snap into place completely. It is just a little hard to pull out usb drives without removing the hyperdrive so be careful.

Nice to have some expansion ports and a dock I can leave at my desk at work. Wish it was a bit thicker, when placing it on either side of a MacBook Pro, it does not sit flush on the desk. But its not that big of a deal.

    Random disconnects

I would have love this except for a few minor issues and one huge issue. First the minor issues: getting an SD card in and out is tricky, especially if you are using the USB ports. Ports are cramped. You can’t get your fingers under the card, as the slot lies close to the desk. Big issue: in spite of being snapped into place, the device randomly loses the connection and disconnects drives randomly. This is a huge issue, as SD cards and hard drives alike can be corrupted by random disconnects without ejecting. I bought something else, and hope it works better.

If you’re getting a new MacBook Pro this is a must have since you’ll have only 2 usb c ports. Clicks in easy and is very responsive. I haven’t noticed any lag time while plugging in standard usb devices.
