Title: Disappointing Experience with the HyperX - Cloud II Wired Gaming Headset Rating: 2/5 I recently purchased the HyperX - Cloud II Wired Gaming Headset with high hopes of achieving an immersive gaming experience and crystal-clear communication. However, my experience with this headset has been far from satisfactory, leaving me disappointed and frustrated. One of the major issues I encountered with the HyperX Cloud II is its build quality. Despite its seemingly durable appearance, the headset feels flimsy and cheaply made. The plastic construction doesn't inspire confidence in its longevity, and I've noticed creaking sounds when adjusting the size or moving the ear cups. This lack of sturdiness is particularly disappointing considering the price point of this headset. The comfort level of the Cloud II is also lacking. The headband padding is insufficient and tends to exert uncomfortable pressure on the top of the head, causing discomfort during extended gaming sessions. The ear cups, although claimed to be memory foam, are not plush enough and can cause ear fatigue after prolonged use. Additionally, the clamping force of the headset is too tight, making it uncomfortable for individuals with larger heads. Sound quality is another area where the Cloud II falls short. While the audio is decent, it lacks the depth and clarity one would expect from a gaming headset in this price range. The bass response is particularly underwhelming, lacking punch and impact. The virtual 7.1 surround sound feature, touted as a selling point, fails to deliver an immersive experience and often feels artificial and gimmicky. One of the most significant disappointments with this headset is the microphone quality. The detachable microphone is subpar, producing muffled and distorted audio. It often picks up background noise and has poor noise cancellation, making it frustrating for both the user and those on the receiving end of the communication. This issue severely hampers in-game communication and general voice chat quality. Furthermore, the inline remote control feels cheap and poorly designed. The buttons are stiff and unresponsive, making it difficult to adjust volume or mute the microphone quickly. This lack of user-friendly controls can be frustrating during intense gaming moments when quick adjustments are necessary. While the HyperX - Cloud II Wired Gaming Headset may seem appealing due to its brand reputation and marketing, it ultimately fails to deliver on its promises. The lackluster build quality, uncomfortable fit, mediocre sound quality, and subpar microphone make this headset a poor choice for serious gamers or anyone seeking a high-quality audio experience. Considering the price point, there are far better options available on the market that offer superior comfort, sound quality, and durability.

Very happy with this headset. Versatile between my PC, PS4, and tablet. Does not fold-up so if you're looking for a traveler-style headset, this may not be for you. BUT if you've looking for gaming at home, listening to music, or watching movies on your mobile devices...these may be what you're looking for. Definitely meets my expectations!

The best headphones I have ever used. I have had these bad boys for going on like 6 years now, and they have never let me down. The only thing I have had to do throughout the years is change out the ear pads. The ones that come on the headphones are super comfortable to use for hours at a time, and they are some great ear pads you could get for cheap when it's time to swap em out. Totally worth it.

This header has great sound and is lightweight. Works well with game console.

So, my dog chewed up my old headset/mic, and I really loved that thing. So we went to Best Buy and got me a new one. I saw 7.1 surround sound and immediately looked at the name and it was HyperX Cloud II Pro. It was more than the price listed here, and I didn’t know it until now. When I would play one game in particular, it would make a buzzing sound with crackling and would go off. Then I couldn’t plug the mic back in the controller when it was on. So, I had to turn the controller off, plug in the mic, just to get sound until the next crackle and shut-off. I then went on YouTube and found that the HyperX Cloud II Pro isn’t compatible with Xbox in the sound control. So that was great. I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend if they were on Xbox, but PS4 or PC, I would.

I bought these headphones in August of 2018 and they are awesome! Great Bass, clarity and mic! I was hesitant to spend this much on a headset but I am so glad I did. The lady working was very helpful! I will very much buy Hyper X in the future!

They worked really good on my series s but i couldn’t get the mic to work i tried everything and it just would work also the cord only works on pc so theres no way to mute it with out buying an adapter

The main difference between the Cloud II and the original version is the sound card that it comes with delivers 7.1 surround sound, but there isn't much of difference to me in terms of the sound. Also I felt that when the 7.1 surround sound was turned on, I have a difficult time picking up where the enemies footsteps were coming from in first person shooters. The comfort is good but I don't like how the wire going into the headset is not detachable, so if that rips or is loose, good luck!
