The HyperX Cloud III S Wireless is a premium gaming headset offered in a not-so-premium form factor.
Strictly examining appearances, the HyperX Cloud III S is, in my opinion, somewhat lackluster. It looks relatively cheap and lacks striking or unique design elements outside of HyperX’s red accents. From the headband to the end of the microphone, the HyperX Cloud III S looks rather generic. Beyond that, the material quality doesn’t “wow” me, either. The earcups utilize an ordinary black plastic and feature flimsy outer covers attached via magnets, and both ends of the headband are capped with the same generic plastic used on the earcups. That said, the headset does feel durable, overall, and it is very comfortable, but the appearance and material quality are slight downgrades from some of HyperX’s previous work.
Moving on to performance, we begin to see where HyperX has made some improvements. The sound quality of the HyperX Cloud III S is excellent, providing a balanced profile perfect for gaming and acceptable for listening to music. However, users who prefer loud, deep bass may be disappointed; bass is certainly there, but the headset lacks the rumbly punch other gaming headsets offer. In my testing, I played several games with varying soundscapes, and I found this headset provided the best listening experience I’ve ever gotten out of a gaming headset, with outstanding clarity, directionality, and imperceptible latency. The headset performs similarly while listening to music; however, it’s still a gaming headset, and it can’t compare to premium over-ear monitors. Audiophiles need not apply! Additionally, the performance of the removable microphone is great as well. In chatting with some friends online, they noted my clarity had improved over previous headsets.
The functionality of the headset is another high point. The setup process was nearly non-existent: I simply plugged the wireless receiver into an open USB port on my PC, turned the headset on, and I was ready to roll with no tedious pairing sequence or proprietary software downloads required! Beyond that, the controls on the headset are intuitive, and a glance at the setup guide explains the multi-function buttons, such as the microphone monitoring toggle, effectively. The headset also travels well, as it comes with a bag that will comfortably fit everything it requires.
In terms of battery life, the HyperX Cloud III S is advertised as having a 200-hour duration while using Bluetooth, and 120-hour duration while using HyperX’s wireless adapter. While my testing was done almost exclusively using the wireless adapter, these claims are mostly accurate. I believe this is thanks, primarily, to the headset’s auto-off functionality which fully powers down the device after 20 minutes of inactivity by default, though this behavior can be modified via HyperX’s NGENUITY software if you prefer more stringent or lax power saving options.
Overall, the HyperX Cloud III S Wireless is an excellent gaming headset. The issues with the appearance and material quality, in my opinion, make the price point a little excessive, but the performance and functionality are phenomenal for a gaming headset. I would absolutely recommend this product to a friend looking to upgrade their current headset.

This HyperX Cloud 3 S wireless headset is nice. Top-notch wireless gaming headset and I’m really enjoying it. This unit has high performance gaming in mind and can be used with virtually any platform with its Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity. I trialed it with my PS5, Switch, and PC, all coming out great and simple to connect.
This HyperX Cloud 3 S wireless headset is very comfortable with its HyperX signature memory foam pads which make a difference during long sessions. They are form fitting to have a great feel and make a firm but comfortable seal around my ears. The headset is very lightweight but made with a durable metal frame, so they aren’t going to break under heavy repetitive use or the usual daily bangs and bumps. Sound is phenomenal with crisp highs and deep vibrant bass delivered by its 53mm drivers. When paired to a PC this headset utilizes DTS Headphone X spatial audio, a unique feature of newer games to give locational sound cues and really feels like you’re in the game. The ultra-clear 10mm microphone is great for hi-def in game chat and does a great job at filtering out unwanted background/environmental noises. Sturdy but bendable construction for proper placement in front of my mouth for optimal functionality. Battery life on this headset is phenomenal but still maintains a lightweight build. Up to an amazing 200 hours on Bluetooth connection and 120 hours on the 2.4 GHz connection. Either way, this is incredible battery life for a wireless gaming headset. The battery lasts much longer than I ever could without stopping. Connection by either the Wireless (2.4 GHz) dongle or Bluetooth. Connection is quick and simple. If you can plug in a USB dongle or have ever connected a Bluetooth anything then you can do this. Connection was equally as simple on all 3 platforms I tested. I also really appreciate the full set of control buttons built right in the headset, keep it simple and easy access. There’s no trying to figure out how to do certain functions all with a single button that’s supposed to magically do it all. I also like the overall rounded design with simple black finish and red accents. It has a bit of a mature, pilot’s headset look.
Conclusion: This HyperX Cloud 3 S wireless headset has been fantastic! It’s been a solid addition to my peripherals collection, offering a form fit, comfortable, high-quality wireless headset with excellent audio performance and incredibly long battery life. Overall design, quality, and performance make it one of my favorite headsets to date.

I was excited to try out the HyperX Cloud III S Wireless headset. I think the Cloud III S makes alot of improvements on previous generations that while not groundbreaking, still matter.
Out of the box, it does not look very different from previous generations, which is actually a plus because the Cloud III was a good-looking headset. These look nice and are just visually appealing. The comfort still remains. The Cloud III S is a bit heavier than the competition but I did not feel that made a difference in its wearability. The padding is nice and snug. One thing that I did note is that my ears would get a bit hot. Otherwise, I could wear these all day without pain. With the battery life being the longest I have ever heard at 120 hours on 2.4GHz and 200 (yes not a typo) hours on Bluetooth, I have not yet needed to charge this bad boy yet. I don't know if I am in the minority but I really wish there was an option for a simple wired connections.
I feel like one of the improvements that were made were in the sound quality. It felt rich and crisp enough that it felt like I could almost feel the steps taken. The sound quality is hands down one of its best strengths. There is no active noise cancellation, but despite feeling snug, the passive noise cancellation was also subpar. The microphone works great and it is detachable which makes it easy to transport but also lose.
One of the things that I felt could have been easily engineered would have been to let it fold for easy transport. Another thing that is just annoying is the lack of Xbox compatibility.
All in all, I think this is a good set of gaming headphones that do have a few small things to nitpick at but when you are talking premium, they matter.

The treble is extremely sibilant. Joe from GT reviewed this amd the measurements looked nice, but dont compare with his rig's target compare with the maxwell and you will see what I mean. I found the original cloud 3 wireless to sound much better.
In fairness, soundstage was decent, and of course so is comfort and battery life

Lasts around 4-5 days on one charge, equivalent to 120 hours depending on the number of hours you are gaming and functionality in use. The memory foam earpieces are a great asset with how comfortable they during long periods of wear. I’ve not had any issues with sweat like with other headphones that use cheap materials to make the headphones. The included microphone can be disconnected if not needed. There’s also a wireless dongle for use with the headset. Overall the headset color scheme follows their primary black scheme with the classic red touches from the logo to the ear muff hangars. These are easily adjusted to most head sizes to create that nice comfortable fit. The sound quality is amazing between gaming system use and gets even better when use on a computer. The headset rests nicely on your head with no issues and does not feel extremely heavy, your head does not get tired over normal use. Charging does take a little bit before it is ready for gameplay or use overall, but worth the wait. The sound clarity is easily adjusted through the EQ when using on your PC without the need to make any major changes when used with your phone.

Design & Comfort
The Cloud III S Wireless nails long-wear comfort with HyperX’s signature memory-foam ear cushions and premium leatherette headband. I spent over five hours straight in a marathon session without any pinching or hotspots. The aluminum-reinforced frame feels robust yet flexible, surviving the shuffle between desk and couch without a scratch. The detachable magnetic earcup plates add a fun personalization touch, though you’ll need to buy them separately if you want variety.
Battery Life & Connectivity
This headset delivers up to 120 hours of continuous play. I charged once and forgot about the battery for a full week of evening sessions. Switching between 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, and Instant Pair with select OMEN laptops is seamless, letting me hop from PC to phone calls without a dongle swap. Instant Pair works flawlessly on my OMEN system, though it isn’t supported on other laptops.
Audio Performance
Equipped with 53 mm angled drivers tuned by HyperX engineers, the Cloud III S serves crisp highs and punchy mids that make explosions and in-game chatter pop. Activating the lifetime DTS Headphone:X Spatial Audio on PC transformed my awareness—footsteps and distant gunfire felt like they were coming from precise coordinates. Gaming, music, and even YouTube streams all carried a clarity and depth I didn’t expect from a wireless headset.
Microphone & Communication
The detachable 10 mm boom mic boasts an LED mute indicator and mesh filter that cancelled out background noise during squad calls. My teammates praised the clarity, and the boom-less mode’s internal mics handled voice chats decently when I didn’t need full broadcast quality. The plug-and-play setup meant no software fuss—just click to mute, adjust levels, and keep talking.
Controls & Customization
All media and connection controls are on the right earcup: a wireless-mode switch, volume wheel, mute button, and multifunction key. It took seconds to learn each control’s tactile feel—no fumbling mid-match. I swapped between music tracks, silenced incoming calls, and toggled wireless modes on the fly, which felt genuinely intuitive.
Compatibility
Whether you’re on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Mac, mobile, or any Bluetooth-enabled device, this headset covers it. HyperX includes both USB-C and USB-A adapters, ensuring I never scrambled for an extra dongle. Console gamers and multitaskers will appreciate the universal support.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
--Exceptional 120 h (2.4 GHz) / 200 h (Bluetooth) battery life
--DTS Headphone:X Spatial Audio with lifetime activation
--HyperX memory-foam comfort for marathon sessions
--Sturdy yet lightweight aluminum frame
Cons:
--Instant Pair limited to select OMEN laptops
--Magnetic earcup plates sold separately
--Slight warmth after extremely long sessions
Verdict
HyperX’s Cloud III S Wireless strikes a remarkably balanced blend of comfort, battery endurance, and audio performance. I found myself relying on its wireless freedom across work-from-home calls and late-night raids without compromise. If you demand marathon-ready comfort, pinpoint audio cues, and versatile connectivity—while accepting a couple of minor caveats—this headset stands out as a top contender in its price class.

I have had and continue to have many numerous headphones, currently I rotate between 3 different ones throughout the week for various reasons.
Having owned the original HyperX Cloud Core headset about 6 years ago (still have it to be honest), I couldnt help but wonder if they have improved on the series or if they ended up being worse (cheaply made).
Opening the box and getting these unpacked, I couldn't of been happier to see that the first impression of the headset reminds me 100% of the originals, mind you these are wireless and the cores were wired, but the overall look feels the same, being as they both come from the Cloud series I like that they kept the overall feel of them. After the initial inspections of the headset, it immediately feels of better quality, it almost feels like they have used a tuffer (heavy duty) material to produce this headset. I don't feel like it would break very easiely if sat on or accidentally stepped on.
The audio quality of these compared to the originals also feels improved, I feel like the bass is a little better and the clarity of some of the audio packs I tested were more spot on to the way I would expect things to sound, during game play.
This wireless unit has both a dongle for wireless and bluetooth connectivity like many of the other headphones out there, this unit toutes having a 120 (wireless)-200 (bluetooth) hour battery life which seems really good.
The mic as like the originals is removable, and doing some backwards testing, honestly sounds better than the original, not entirely sure what they did here since the first one but it does feel like a good improvement. The unit also features built in omni-directional mic for bluetooth.
One of the things the original did that kept me using them for so long was provide good cushioning for my ears, it wasn't too snug and it wasn't too loose, and these so far seem to extend on that original feel, the pads are nice and cushy, feels like memory foam, but the leather type material used just feels right, some of my other headsets can feel almost like they used a tee shirt or almost a thin quilt instead of a good lasting material, these definitely feel good on my ears.
If I had to choose a few things that I could dislike about this headset, based on other headsets that I own, features. I could only think of 2, the first one being the earpads are stationary, other headsets i have rotate/turn left or right, while there is no benefit to normal use of these headsets having this feature, for me personally, i like being able to turn one of my earpads so i free up an ear to hear whats going on in my house or if someone is talking to me, makes for a quick listen as opposed to removing the headset, again this is just a hard picked gripe.
The second being the weight of this product, I have neck problems and the older I get, I find the heavier a headset is in longer gaming sessions, I can wake up the next day with a sore neck. With that being said, this unit does weigh quite a bit more than some of my other headsets, I almost think this one weighs slightly more than the original. But again as I have stated these are mere personal gripes not actual issues with the product, I think you start to sacrifice quality when making things lighter, so being I enjoy the tuffness of this series of headsets, I can live with the very little extra weight they have, just to know they will last alot longer in the lifetime of them.
With all of that said, I would recommend this wireless headset to anyone looking for a solid, good sounding headset. This brand has been around for awhile and as i have mentioned i still have the original of this series, if that says anything about the brand I think it would be longevity is key here and the fact that they continue to make great headsets years later is safe to say this headset will be no different and I'll still be using it for years to come.
