I've been using the HyperX QuadCast 2 S microphone for a few weeks now, and it has impressed me with its performance and user-friendly features. Below are some of the pros and cons Design and Build The QuadCast 2 S stands out with its sleek design and customizable RGB lighting. The lights might be too much but looks cool. The build feels sturdy, and the included shock mount does an excellent job minimizing vibrations from desk movements. I am not professional podcaster or recording artist but the HyperX QuadCast 2 feels pretty solid. The touch-sensitive mute button at the top is both intuitive and responsive. No need to load in software to get it to work. Just plug in and it works. However, to customize the lights and feature you need to download the software. Audio Quality The sound quality is exceptional for a USB microphone. From the calls and meetings ive been in the audio comes through clear and natural (from what the others tell me). They say I sound a lot clearer. Features & Functionality • Multi-Pattern Pickup: The ability to switch between cardioid, omnidirectional, bidirectional, and stereo polar patterns makes it versatile for various use cases. Basically works directionally • Compatibility: Plug-and-play functionality with both PC and consoles is seamless. It works perfectly with streaming platforms and video conferencing apps. • Gain Control: The gain knob at the base of the mic is handy for on-the-fly adjustments. What Could Be Better • Price: It’s slightly on the higher end compared to other USB mics, though the features and quality justify it. • RGB Lighting Customization: While it’s customizable, the software interface could be more intuitive for tweaking the lighting effects. I wish there was a switch or button just to turn off the lights it can get distracting. This review is on a HyperX - QuadCast 2 S Wired Multi-Pattern USB Condenser Microphone. The build quality is solid. Nothing feels cheap or that it could be damaged. I love the design. It has a nice studio quality look. It has a shock mount to help absorb some of those thumps that normal mics could get. It has everthing I need in a mic. Just tap it once on the top and it will mute the mic. When it is muted the lights turn off. Tap again to unmute it and the lights turn back on. It has a dial on the front to easily control the volume. The mic picks up really well. It can be changed to listen from all around, front and back, side to side or what's called Cardioid that is meant for podcasts, streaming, voiceovers and instruments. I had an issue with the mic on my laptop. My boss said he couldn't hear me when using Microsoft Teams. Once I got this, he said I was coming in loud and clear. The software is easy to use and controls all of its features. The app has a nice multicolor active picture just like you are looking at the mic with the colors. There are 8 built in light patterns to choose from. The default is wave that you can control the angle and speed of the colors. I would buy this again.
