Fantastic sound, easy to use for a novice with microphones like myself, and was on sale when I bought, so reasonably priced compared to other mics I looked at for singing.

The HyperX QuadCast is easily one of the best USB microphones out there. The sound quality is crystal clear—perfect for streaming, podcasting, voiceovers, or gaming. People on the other end instantly noticed the upgrade in my audio. The built-in shock mount and pop filter are a huge bonus, cutting down on background noise and vibrations without needing extra gear. I also love the tap-to-mute feature with the red LED indicator—super intuitive and great for live sessions. It offers four pickup patterns (cardioid, bidirectional, omnidirectional, and stereo), so it’s flexible for solo use, interviews, or group setups. Plus, the design looks great on any desk setup. Whether you're a content creator or just want to sound better on calls, the QuadCast delivers serious performance in a plug-and-play package.

The HyperX QuadCast S is one of those microphones that makes getting into video creation a lot more fun and a lot less intimidating. I’m still pretty new to making videos, and what I appreciate most is how easy this mic is to set up and use. It’s truly plug-and-play—no complicated menus, no extra hardware needed. You plug it into your computer, select it as your input, and you’re basically ready to start recording. For beginners, that smooth setup is a huge relief. The sound quality is excellent right out of the box. Voices come through clear, warm, and crisp without needing a ton of post-processing or tweaking. You also get multiple pickup patterns—cardioid, omnidirectional, bidirectional, and stereo—which makes the mic flexible for different recording situations. I mostly stick to cardioid for speaking on camera, but it’s nice knowing the other modes are there if I ever branch out into interviews, dual recordings, or ambient audio. One of my favorite features is the RGB lighting. It’s customizable, bright, and genuinely adds personality to my desk setup. Being able to change the colors to match my workspace or mood makes the mic feel more “mine,” and it brings a little extra flair to the whole process. It doesn’t affect performance, of course, but it definitely makes creating content more fun. The tap-to-mute sensor and the built-in shock mount are also great touches—they make everything feel polished and beginner-friendly. No loud clunks, no fumbling with buttons, and no ugly mic stand vibrations showing up in the audio. Overall, the HyperX QuadCast S is an awesome choice for anyone just getting into videos, streaming, or voice recording. It’s stylish, easy to use, and delivers great audio without making you learn a whole sound engineering course to use it right. It’s been a joy to work with.

I got this mic to replace a cheaper one i got from amazon for streaming on twitch. The audio quality is stellar, and i would even argue that its on par with the higher end stuff from rhode and sure, except its much cheaper AND its made by what is essentially a gaming company. With just a noise gate and a noise supression filter through OBS it already sounds like a professional grade mic. The physical aspects of it leave a few things to be desired as it is quite large. There is a more important problem though, the USB C port is on the back which creates the need for a steep bend in the cable right at the connector. So far i havent had any problems and the cable it comes with is pretty sturdy so its not a deal breaker, but i feel like it could have definitely been designed better. Overall the lighting, sound quality and construction make this a very solid choice.

This mic has been a great one so far. I like the dial to select how you want to set up whether it be sitting in front by yourself or having people in the front and the back of the mic. There is also other settings. The light settings are cool and can be disabled. The easy tap to mute feature is nice. I don't have a negative thing to say about it. It can be attached with the included base or on a boom. My 12 year old uses it when he streams his video games too, so it is very easy to use and set up.

The RGB lights are beautiful and work fantastic. This mic is sleek and fancy and really makes your gaming setup seem that much more impressive. The stand works fantastic and the whole stand and microphone is made out of very good quality material. 5 stars for gaming because this microphone really is suited for that gamer setup look. 4.5 stars for sound quality because there is a bit of a room echo if you lean back farther than like 70cm. That issue is solvable with wall padding, or also buying a microphone arm to move the microphone closer to you as you sit. 4 .5 stars for value of money because it really does work like any other professional mic out there for $150-$200, but for me it was so worth the extra money because of how amazing the microphone looked.

Very satisfied with the quality. Sturdy, everyone has commented on the clarity of this mic. RGB is a bonus. This pretty much checked off all the boxes for me and is easy to setup but you can still dive in deeper with software to tweak the input. It's been 2 months of usage and is now my preferred mic/setup.

The intuitive physical controls make it easy to adjust settings on the fly, and the overall sound quality is impressive. For its price, this mic is a fantastic investment, offering excellent performance and style without overspending. Overall, it earns a solid 4 stars.

This mix is a huge upgrade from the integrated microphone in my external camera. This is podcast quality sound with the ability to switch pickup modes depending on if you’re alone or with others. Plus it just looks cool with the lights, which also serve a purpose to let you know when it’s on vs. muted.

I have the version of this microphone that is just red as well. They are literelly the same microphone but this version lights up all RGB while the other one is just R lol. Im very happy with this microphone. It sounds great its usb so its plug n play. Its got a gain scroll on the bottom so you can control how much you want your microphone to pick up. And theres a headphone jack on the back if you want to listen to youre voice when you speak. Also the stand it comes with is very good and sturdy but you can also take it off the stand and attach the microphone to a mic arm which i did and it works perfectly fine. But i would make sure the mic arm is strong and sturdy because this mic is a little heavier than some of the other usb mics. If youre using this on pc the hyper x app works very good with this mic as well. Sound quality is very good. Its not like youre getting an XLR mic but its definitely better than any headset mic ive ever heard. And i forgot to mention the mute button on the very top of the mic is very nice. Its not a button you just tap it and it works every time for me. Overall this is the best mic ive ever used and its definitely worth a purchase if your lookong for a mic thats plug n play and not a headset mic

Great addition to my gaming setup. It sounds a lot better than the mic in my Razr headset, and the gradient lights sync up with my other rgb's for a nice aesthetic. The lights go out when you mute it, which is a nice touch.

Love the HyperX Quadcast S. We work hard for our $$ and it;s a requirement that the goods we buy are great quality & value. No disappointment with this mic. Works fantastic. Easy to connect. And looks cool! I was a bit concerned with the highish price- but, had been happy with another HyperX mic that we purchased- so went for it. If the item is quality (which it is)- it's a good deal!

Pros: works exactly as advertised, nice look, easy setup, great sound, versatility, The ability to adjust recording directions without having to redirect the mic is nice (hence the quad cast for the four options) super easy gain adjustment for quick changes on the fly. The suspension cage really dampens sound transfer from desk (mine is the hyper X boom clamped to the desk, so I am not sure how it is on the desk stand). I love this mic the sound quality as far as I can tell is great (I am not a pro sound guy so take that with a grain of salt) Cons, really the only negative I have is sometimes it doesn't power up when I start my computer and I have to unplug it and plug it back in, which is easy to do, unplug the usb-c from the mic head and plug it back in only takes 3 seconds. It is a minimal inconvenience except I know the more often you plug and unplug something the more the usb port or cable wears.

Microphone provides quality audio and easy to use. The USB port is USB-C to conform with new cables. The mute button is easy to use and has a visual confirmation as the lights turn off when muted. Works well for conference calls to minimize echos, background sounds and provide higher quality than webcams. Base still transfers solid desk contacts but overall typing is reduced. Pair it with free audio software to truly bring this microphone to life and improve the quality.

Outstanding USB Mic ! Plays well with Mac!

The HyperX Quadcast S is an outstanding microphone. I am not a gamer, I just needed a really good microphone for dictating in Word and also to hopefully use to produce a podcast. A couple of years ago I purchased a Blue Yeti, and it worked well at the time I was using it with my MacBook Pro and my Yamaha keyboard and that was fine. I ended up putting it away and not using it anymore because I really didn't have the time. So, for two years it basically stayed in its case and storage. Fast forward two years and I took it back out a few weeks ago and I could not get it to work with my MacBook anymore. Nothing I tried worked it was just crappy recording quality. Bottom line is that they weren't keeping up with the software updates and it was no longer compatible it wouldn't work with Big Sur. So, I went looking for another microphone and I was not looking for the hyper X, I was looking for something else entirely. I came to the Best Buy website to buy something else, saw the hyper X saw and all the tremendous reviews, so I rolled the dice and I'm glad I did. Straight out of the box absolutely zero setup. I plugged it in, made a couple of trial recordings in audacity, made a couple of trial recordings in GarageBand, dictated a couple of documents to Word and everything worked perfectly right out of the box, zero effort on my part. If you want a great microphone, it doesn't matter if you're a gamer or not this is a great USB microphone. It’s a little more than the Blue mics, but there’s a reason for that. You get what you pay for. I dictated this review into a Word Doc using the mic and only had to make one correction.

Good microphone so far just need the boom arm and when you speak, it sounds very clear. It does pick up some background noise, but it is worth it and you will need to buy an extra pair of headphones doesn’t need to be expensive but yeah
