It is supposed to protect your wrists from carpal tunnel, but as someone who is constantly using computers for work and various projects, I needed some support. This doesn't really seem to alleviate any pain that I already have, and it's really a pain to have to keep it a certain length away from the keyboard. The fabric is fine, and it's a squishy material inside, but I don't really like that it's hard to clean, and if you get anything on it, you'll have to spot clean it.
