Good starter for our son

So we got this IBuypower Slatehako gaming system because we thought it would be a good starter for our son who loves gaming.
I will start by saying assembly was easy and very straight forward. We had no issues getting everything set up and working properly.
As this is our sons first one, we feel it is a good start but would like to upgrade later. Most of the games he played were smooth sailing with no issues but a few of the other games we did see a difference in quality of speed, clarity, and just overall comparison to the other games. Our son didnt really see the difference but when my husband and i played we could tell the difference. We loved the look of the case and the lights. We also liked how it cane as a bundle with a keyboard and mouse.
We arent avid gamers but do like to game with our kids and have gaming nights so for this being our sons first setup we are okay with it until he becomes more into the games that his dad likes playing then we can always upgrade. Overall, for someone just starting out yes i would go with this system, if your buying for an older avid gamer i would definitely go with a more upgraded version to keep up with your games.

Bought this to replace another machine that failed. Didn’t need it to be powerful, just to have hardware support for video transcoding.
For that, it’s perfect. Machine didn’t give me any trouble during setup. Took the 8gb single stick of ram out and replaced it with 32gb. Runs much smoother in dual channel mode.

Great Entry Level Gaming PC

The SlateHako MR offers out of the box gaming PC specs for those not looking to break the bank. And while it does offer some decent hardware such as a 408 GB SSD and gold 600 watt power supply. The real question really comes down to how well the 8 gigs of RAM and 1080 GT GPU really can hold its ground with most demanding Triple A gaming. After all what's the point of buying a PC if you cant run the latest and greatest games?
Out of the box you are going to receive everything you need to get you started including a provided mouse and full size keyboard which offer RGB lighting as well. Set up is very easy and quite honestly does not require any real knowledge as all the work has pretty much been done for you. When it comes to gaming PC, myself as well as many others care about the ascetics of the rig just as much as the performance. The Desktop is actually very well put together with a simplistic yet modern look. You get 3 front mount intake fans with 1 rearward exhaust fan and a top mount liquid aio cooler fan. Yes the fans light up for you RGB people and yes you can change the color scheme. So lets get right in to the performance aspect of it. This set up in my opinion is the way to go for this looking to test the waters of gaming on a PC without breaking the bank or those looking for a entry level set up with room to expand. The CPU and graphics card are gonna really hinder you from playing games such as GTA IV and COD at ultra settings at 1440. And while 8 gigs of RAM is technically acceptable for gaming, in order for the smoothest transitions from one scene to another that single stick is going to need to be upgraded eventually. iBUYPOWER gives their time spy score for certain games off their website but what i can attest to is as follows. Cyberpunk ran 30-50 frames at medium settings, GTA IV ran 60 frames at medium and 40 at high, League of Legends got 60 frames at high and COD warzone got about roughly 50 frames at high settings. All games were tested at 1080p with CPU temps reaching 68°C and GPU temps hitting 80°C. Games ran smooth as long as i don't try to run them on Ultra settings. If pushed to ultra, i experienced screen tearing, terrible lag and the occasional crash. Now don't let this push you away as this little Desktop packs a punch. It runs most games at high settings with no issues whatsoever and games like Resident Biohazard still look very beautiful at high settings and experienced no lag. Plus you can upgrade the CPU and Ram to bigger and more powerful hardware and the fact that you have a stock 600 watt Gold PSU means that upgrading to a 20 series graphics card should require no PSU upgrade. Speaking of the graphics card quite honestly that and the CPU would be the first 2 things i would upgrade right away. I understand that they are trying to coming come in at a cost effective price so cuts have to be made but just to help those that don't understand computers, the graphics card is what gives you that awesome picture quality for gaming and the card that is in this unit is a 1080 ( 10 series). To put that in perspective the latest graphics card that is out is the 40 series i.e. 4070, 4080 etc.
Overall this is still a great entry level gaming rig and it packs a very powerful punch for the hardware inside. The low temps and room to upgrade make this a good buy. If your a first time gamer or your looking for room to expand then this is a awesome way to go

Entry-level, budget-minded gaming rig

Let's call this what it is: A budget-minded, entry-level, gaming rig. The target audience for a rig like this is not a hardcore gamer playing games that require a great deal of resources and expecting top-notch performance. No, this machine is likely aimed more at providing a stable entrance into the world of PC gaming at a consumer price-point.
All of the components in this machine are on the lower end of the respective categories, but the motherboard has ample options for future connections and the has plenty of space to support it; in fact, it's quite huge! As long as you enter into this with the mindset that you are setting yourself up with a rig that can easily be upgraded as the need arises, you aren't likely to be disappointed.
Setup was simple, straightforward, and was completed in only about 10 minutes thanks to Windows 11 (and the fact that I already have a Microsoft account). With setup complete, I installed and fired up Forza Motorsport 7. With the settings moderately set, I was able to enjoy the realism that is expected of a racing sim and everything seemed to run smoothly. I also played around with American Truck Simulator (ATS). Being a slightly older title, it isn't as resource intensive and played without issue. This rig will eventually be my 9-year-old son's rig and he primarily plays ATS and Roblox, so this will suit him just fine. The included RGB keyboard and mouse are a step up from the typical throw-away peripherals that are included with most computers.
Overall, this is a solid entry-level unit that helps offer a nice platform for future upgrades.

Well Put Together

The SlateHAKO by iBUYPOWER is put together a bit better than I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised with the excellent packaging job and the slew of beginner friendly labels to assist in getting the computer properly setup on your desk. Everything was plugged in where it needed to be and there was an acceptable level of cable management. I had no issues with the initial boot up and the thing just worked! I hear a lot of nightmare stories about pre-built PCs but I luckily had zero issues with this machine. The case is well built and my kids love the look of it. The front glass panel will likely limit air intake in the stock configuration but I think moving around the supplied fans will let it breath a little better.
While this is labeled as a gaming PC it's really just barely. This is a great entry point for those looking to try out 1080/720p on low settings or play more casual storytelling games. It also does well with emulation.
My only concern is that 8GB of RAM is about what I would consider the minimum, and, as shipped the PC is running in single channel. This isn't a huge deal as this is mostly a homework PC for the kids but I'll likely upgrade down the road for a better gaming experience for them. I think that is actually a good way to look at this PC as a whole. It's a solid starting point to upgrade later as the need arises and funds are available.

This desktop is an entry level gaming desktop.
Looks wise, this looks amazing! RBG fans with a keyboard and mouse to match. It would look great with any gaming setup. Especially with the clear glass on one side that gives you a perfect view of all the internal components.
Noise and temperature wise, I have no complaints! Any gaming system you have is going to make noise, that's a given. The fan noise is about average with this system. While playing games the GPU and CPU stay temperate. There has been no overheating issues whatsoever.
Gaming wise, it can play some AAA titles at about 30 FPS. I found that I can play most of my favorite games at low settings with no issue. It's not going to give you 100+ FPS at 4k, but it doesn't have to. This would be a good fit for someone who is a casual player that plays less demanding games. Or someone who is looking for a computer that can play video games from time to time.
Overall, it's not a bad product, especially if you're just getting into video games. Do your research and make sure you're getting what you want.

Good Starter PC to Build Upon

iBUYPOWER offers gaming PCs with varying components and performance levels. This model (SlateHAKO2110) should be considered entry-level, and ideal for someone looking to get started in PC gaming with potential intent to upgrade to better components over time. This PC could also work for you if you are just a casual gamer that doesn't need to run graphic-intensive games. If you only want to play games like the Sims or Roblox, this might be for you. Most games in my Steam library ran well on this PC, but anything that was graphically demanding was not playable to my liking.
With that being said, there are some positives to this PC. Some PC builders may not want to spend the time building from scratch. While the individual components are not high-end, you have a solid foundation to start with. And if you want high-end components, you are going to have to spend considerably more than what this system retails for. I see this desktop as being a great starter project for a parent/child where they can work together on upgrading components, tweaking here and there as they learn more about computers together. It's a terrific skill to work on with kids as it can get them excited about something that can benefit them down the road. The tower is well designed for easy access to make those upgrades and the tempered glass and RGB LEDs give it a beautiful look.
It was nice to see that a solid state drive was included in this model, however, it is only 500GB capacity. Hopefully you have a second drive you can add. Otherwise you'll likely want to upgrade this as well, or buy another. 500GB doesn't get you very far these days. The solid state drive does help Windows boot and shut down quite promptly. You will also notice faster load times when gaming.
If you fit the category of someone looking for a nicely designed tower that you can upgrade over time, then this PC is something that you could definitely consider.
