I don't mind violent movies. But this movie was a complete waste of my time.

I'm a fairly tolerant movie goer when it comes to psycho Asian films and I'm no stranger to Miike's works, but this has definitely topped the list of films he's done. You follow the twin stories of Ichi and Kakihara as they slowly but surely work towards each other for a final showdown. During the film, Miike takes you on a brutal and fantastic ride of twists, turns, and interconnected characters. It does, however, involve some pretty intense "love" scenes and uses violence to an insane degree (nothing less for the famed Takashi Miike) but it really does work for this film. If you've seen Gozu or even OldBoy, then you'd probably like this film. If this is your first foreign film, you might want to try something a little different. As far as amazing brutality and twistedness goes, Ichi is brilliant!

This film is great. Ichi is a crybaby who kills for an ex-cop, Jijii. Jijii convinces Ichi that he was bullied so that he will kill those in the underworld. Kakihara is a gangster; his boss was killed by Ichi, so Kakihara starts killing and torturing people trying to find out what happened. The film is very funny, and the violence is over-the-top. The DVD is the full, uncut version (it's 129 minutes, although the back of the DVD has a misprint that says it's 124), and the image quality is good. Highly recommended.

Ichi The Killer crosses the line when it comes to Gore. I belive that only people who like Horror and Gangster movies will enjoy this movie. the violence is so real at times and so Unreal. all I can't tell you it's not an every day flick but I thought it was fun.
