Definite must have for anyone who likes to tinker with their electronics or wants to do DIY repairs, it's been extremely helpful with replacing the batteries in all my ps4 controllers and even opening up my original 3ds to replace the broken microphone. I have bought this kit due to my interest of upgrading my RAM and SSD on my 2023 Asus ROG M16, the only thing I can say is that I had every tool that I could ever need whenever surgically taking apart the hardware for my GU604IV. My recent and first upgrade was replacing the default DDR5 RAM to Crucial’s 64GB 5200MT/s kit, the first lesson that the kit taught, just by what it provides me and how my selected tools performed, is that it’s a careful and complex process where you have to pay attention to how much pressure you give off to the tool onto the screws and that even static discharge can ruin your day — which, thankfully, did not happen as I, and my father, developed a makeshift grounded wire clipped onto my nearby bathroom pipe. Speaking of static discharge, I would have appreciated if the kit came with a anti-static discharge arm band as it’s a necessary equipment if you care about the longevity of your possibly high-dollar hardware. I understand iFixIt already has bundle that includes it with an antistatic mat, although just the band itself would suffice if you have a stripped wire and a grounded pipe to wrap the wire around on which then you clip the armband onto the stripped wire. Again, to reiterate, this is the best kit Best Buy can offer for incoming enthusiasts that loves to upgrade and modify their laptop/PC.

honestly had several bits in here that i never knew i needed and it has helped with PC repairs and with some automotive repairs as well as Bicycle repairs (its small enough to be carried around) . the plastic scalpel looking thing with the hook is good for getting the chain back on the gears without getting my hands dirty (though i guess the other things work too) will fix practically any electronics item you have (assuming you know how to use the tools)

Yeah, it's a tool kit. There's lots of cheap knock offs of the iFixit kits available online and I used one a ton for a few years until the driver got wobbly and all of the spudgers and pry tools were thoroughly done. So that tool kit has been relegated to my car while this iFixit kit gets to go in the workbench. It has everything I needed to replace an entire keyboard on a Macbook Pro, everything I needed to swap drifting joysticks on Joycons, and I even got an old Samsung tablet taken apart with it. Expect the spudgers to get destroyed - they're meant to break before anything you're working on might break. So they won't stay pointy for long. I get those in bulk, but it would have been nice if there was some extra space in the kit for me to customize what kinda tools are in there a little bit. Like a spare spudger or something. You might occasionally encounter a device that needs a fine screw that's deep inside something. For those edge cases, a spare jeweler's kit is nice to have around. For example, the Switch Pro Controller has one philips 00 screw that's like 1.5" deep that these bits and the driver are too thick to get to. Which, again, would have been nice if there was some leeway space in the kit for me to slot in one or two of those longer drivers. The driver in the bit set is all metal and very buttery smooth. Most of the kit was really standard, but that driver made me feel spoiled with how smooth and controlled it is. If there's anything I'd change, its the fact that the bits are in these foam slots where they're labeled with little engravings in the foam. These are nearly impossible to read. For a kit as expensive as this one, I would have expected the labels to be painted, or silk screened, or even printed on. They're so hard to read, I think I might actually just hand fill them in with a light colored gel pen or something because even if I completely mess up, it wouldn't change how hard it is to read them. Overall, it's a bit pricey and pretty standard for what you'd get, but it's very well made and I really support the free guides on the iFixit website. If you're interested in repairing various things or even just taking a peek inside your electronics, I highly recommend this kit.

Helped me replace an otherwise difficult to replace a battery in my HP Envy 17" laptop built in late 2020. Laptops used to be DIY repair/modification friendly with more common tools. Very well thought out kit. Only maybe negative is I wish the magnet for the driver had just slightly more magnetism.

If you haven't heard of I fix it, their a company that deals in teaching you how to fix your stuff yourself. This is their full toolkit with everything you need to take apart and put back together your gadgets. This is a great kit because it comes with the security bits to take out some of the most unique screw types companies like apple and nintendo use to assemble their products, that accompanied with different spudgers picks, pry tools, and tweezers will let you get in there and get it done. At least until it comes to the part where you need to solder something. The screwdriver kit is magnetic to help you not loose those tiny screws as well! The whole kit is well organized and comes in a nice fold up carrying sleeve that keeps everything together so you can throw the whole thing in with the rest of your kit know where everything is. This will get you half way there, their website has step by step instructions to get you the rest of the way there and they also sell many replacement parts for your devices, and even replacement pieces for the the toolkit for when you invariably break or loose something. Good luck on fixing your stuff!

As a technician, I enjoy the variety of tools and bits to accommodate the various screw types and sizes as well as the ESD strap and tweezers. The carry case is a bonus that makes keeping everything simple and contained.
