This one is the best one I've tried. I like how you can change the lighting of the clock. Others I tried were either too bright no matter the lighting level or you couldn't see them at all when dimmed. The sound is okay. It's better than not having any speakers other than the Echo, but it can't be turned up too loud or the sound becomes a little distorted. Overall, I like it. It also freed up space on my nightstand by eliminating the need for a clock along with the Echo.

Due to position of Dot in speaker dock, you almost have to yell at it to get it to respond. Serves its purpose, though.

That part worked nice, with 4 brightness levels - very easy to change. After 2 days, the problems started - the iHome speaker started making a feedback scratching noise. I checked the cable connectors, and the issue went away. Two days later, it was back. Repeated the process and same results. The worse thing of all was the inability to get in touch with iHome for assistance. Their 800 number had an automated voice that said, disconnected and hung up. They never answered my email requests for assistance either.

1. Remove the batteries from the unit.
2. Unplug the unit from its power source (AC adapter).
3. Wait 20 minutes.
4. Plug the unit into a power source (without batteries).
If normal operation is restored, insert "new" batteries into the unit.

I know the Echo Dot's volume and sound cannot be as loud as I would like but with this speaker dock, it is amazing. Would definitely recommend this for your Echo Dot. This is very easy to set up and connect to your Echo Dot. I also like the clock feature on the front and the ability to charge my iPhone. Win...win.
