Poor customer service/ install

I was greeted on my install with a short conversation that included the installer saying " I have four radios to install today". Installer then went on to what I thought was a rushed job. Even at one point he's running from the tool box back to the car as if he was being timed for his work. He finished up the install and without me ever listening to the radio asked me..."Do you have any questions about the radio?" I was thinking to myself I haven't even taken the radio for a test drive. Well after i listened to the radio i found the radio made a hissing sound that wouldn't go away once i turned the ignition on. I walked over the installer and mind you he's moved on to his next appointment he tells that he probably has to put an adapter on my car. ONE I PAID WITH THE RADIO AND WAS SITTING ON THE FRONT SEAT. Now I had to make a second appointment to get it "checked out". I'm done i won't be going back to this best buy. Beware of this place

I was there almost two hours and ignored/avoided by the manager until someone basically forced her into a conservation. They offered to install something else but said they didn’t have anything near as nice as what I had purchased. I asked about the demo they had and was told absolutely not, keep in mind I had already paid full price and didn’t ask for any discount. She said I could reschedule and try again in a few weeks but I had zero faith in their competency after that and requested a refund. She did proceed to prove me right and couldn’t even get the refund correct and spoke to me like I was a child when I questioned the missing $120 item.

Bad Camera Placement

Now, the placement of the camera could not have been placed in the worst place. Every time I open and close the tailgate to my truck it hits the camera causing it to shift. I had to schedule another appointment almost 2 weeks out for them to fix it. Oh and I almost forgot, I purchased all new speakers that were also installed same day, but the passenger rear is not working.

Poor installation messed up my dash

As a loyal customer, this is one of my worse experiences as a consumer. First, I had an appointment at 4:45 and I received a phone call at 4:40 from the technician saying my appointment would be canceled. I wasn't happy b cause I was already outside the store. I decided to go to the gym that was down the street. As I was driving home, I passed by Best Buy and noticed that the doors were open at the install bay and there was an installer working. I went to the store and asked the manager why they canceled my appointment. She made up a lot of excuses and went and asked the installer why they canceled my appointment. She came back and said he could miraculously install my DVD player now. I come back two hours later to discover that my dash has gashes and holes where the installer used a sharp object to pry my old radio out. I went back and the manager did agree to fix the dash or give me some money back but he seemed like I was bothering him with my problem. After all was said and done I never received an apology. He gave me a small discount but he said he couldn't take that much off because he couldn't lose money of the sale (even though my dash would have been 1000's to replace). Overall not happy with this installation service. I would have been better off installing it myself.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.service was not completed..first tried to call the store to find out about installation and was assured the the equipment recs online would be correct by someone at a call center..apparently the store doesnt take calls so actually talking to a tech is impossible unless you make an appointment. even after telling them i was handicapped and its hard to go in i still had to show up in person to talk to the tech..which by the way was one of the rudest people ive met in a while. bought the stereo and all the installation hardware online anyway and set up appt to install. when we got there for the install they informed us that the hardware that they recommended us to get via online was not correct..they then put all the products in the car and in the boxes. call me and said they were gonna find the right one and call me. . no calls..so i will return everything and go deal with a more professional operation for my audio needs...they will waste your time

Geek Squad installed my Alpine - 7" - ilx w650

The USB cable connector from the unit to my phone is messy. He doesn't care at all. He should put in a proper place where we can plug our USB at ease. I just found out that He broke the plastic frame and use the wrong screws to install it.

Install bay is a joke!

The novi store is a joke, the called me an hour after it was scheduled and stated that they would not even touch the install! So the brighton store rescheduled it for the ann arbor store, two days before the install date they call and say they can not do it for another month. At this point im extremely not happy as it had been an on going issue with someone installing a $700 deck that i purchased. Spoke to brighton and they were reaching out to ann arbor, ann arbor store then leaves me a message stating that they wanted to do a consultation and wanted to set up an appt. Why wasnt this done off the get go, its a little to late for this now! So i installed it myself, took me about 3.5 hours and had never done it before so for ann arbor to say that they couldnt do it in 2.5 hours is ridiculous! The install was a metra turbo touch dash kit and the avh-4500nex deck! Needless to say my hard earned money may never be spent again at best buy! Very sad that this happened due to best buy usually being a great place to shop!

Geek squad threw belongings on floor left brake on

The worker said “ the tech will call when he is finished”. Then hung up on me. When I did receive a call to pickup my vehicle the technician had thrown all my change, charging cords, charging plugs and my face masks on the vehicle floor. Dirty feet step there where my stuff was thrown to. Also when I we to drive away my car was acting funny. I noticed that the tech left my parking brake on. Why did he put on my parking brake in a flat ground garage? Why did he not take the parking brake off when the installation was finished? Why was my belongings tossed onto the dirty floor when there was a empty box from the new stereo? Why didn’t he put my belongings on my seat? I am not a tech and I didn’t know what would be in the way. No respect for customers and rude

Best Buy Sales and Installation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I was buying the car stereo for the installation, I was very specific that I did not want to lose the functionality of the steering wheel controls. The salesperson kept interrupting me with an offer for some $200 per year service that the sales associates were obviously pressed to push on the customer. The salesperson assured me that the radio was going to be fully functional and have SiriusXM. I told him several times that the radio needed an XM Module because I had done my research. Finally, I spoke to the installer and despite telling the installer that I wanted steering wheel functionality, he ordered a $300 Installation kit with auto-climate (but no steering wheel functionality) instead of the $140 iDatatlink Maestro (which would have retained steering wheel controls, and auto-climate functions, along with even more options). I'm hoping Best Buy will make it right, but as of right now, I'll never use the Geek Squad services ever again.

Felt like sneaky used car salesman tactics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I reviewed the equipment with the installation team a day before the installation appointment to ensure I had all the correct parts. The install guy tried to upsell me with a more expensive unit because it would work better. I said the one I purchased is sufficient and no thank you. The day of the install and after removing the original part - he said that the unit I purchased isn't as compatible with my 2021 Honda C-RV. I said I didn't want to be upsold to another unit and to cancel the order (he was combative with me and basically said he's been working over-time on this unit and that "I am lucky he isn't billing me for the extra work"). Keep in mind I was at the store waiting for 1 hour past the time my car was scheduled for the install (my car was just sitting there while they worked on other vehicles). This was, by far, the worst experience with Best Buy, I highly recommend not working with this company for any Car installations.

Ended up not using
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Was buying all the required items for my install, and the guy just kept telling me how difficult my head unit was to install (JVC 330bt). So I scheduled an appt. Went home looked thru everything and end up doing it my self took me about 45 mins. That includes the time it took me to soder my wiring harness together very simple install. If you know what you doing go for it. Most instructions are very detailed and theres a ton of videos online to help with any ?s.
