Poor customer service

It took coming to my local store 3x to finally get someone to schedule my install. The 2 previous times I would stand back by auto, they would call for someone to help me and then no one would show up.

HORRIABLE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Returned everything after wasting two days leave from work and 5.5 hours wasted time at the store. Scheduled appointment and arrived early to drop of vehicle and hardware, checked back 2.5 hours later, the installer Sean didn't start and told me he wouldn't finish that day and asked that I return the following day. Frustrated but returned next day, waited 3 hours before checking on status only to learn the installer hadn't started and had only be on the job 4 days and didn't even complete his training, was told to do the best he could and gave me sob story about being new. He wasn't confident he could do the job and supervisor wasn't available. Complained to Store Manager Mark who only thanked me for "feedback". Lost complete faith in Best Buy, someone should be fired over this incident!!!

Hugely disappointing

I purchased the radio when it was a free installation of radios over a certain price. Less than a month later, the radio has come loose from its mounting. I do not live near an installation BB. It has been a huge inconvenience to have a repair made due to work schedule, BB store hours and location of installation stores.

Not happy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The guy was very friendly, BUT......after installation as my husband and I sat in the parking lot playing with his newly purchased stereo we noticed that it did not work. My husband asked the guy to come out and look and assist us. We were thinking we were doing something wrong. The guy did come out and tried to assist, but after a few minutes told us it was not going to work because of my husband’s vehicle and he went back in. Within minutes of the guy going inside, my husband continue to play with it and got it to work. Paid all of that money for install and wasted all that time for my husband to have to get it to work. Very frustrating!

No proof of purchase, Best Buy records don’t go ba
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Technician was not able to install my pioneer radio, in 2009, Best Buy technicians installed a pioneer radio, now Best Buy tells me whoever installed the 2009 Radio installed it incorrectly and too many loose wires, and I said Best Buy install my radio, I have no proof receipt has been long gone. I went to advance Stereo across the street. They did a fantastic job., I won’t be back to Best Buy for a radio installation

Radio install. Battery died

It appears that it was not installed correctly as my battery died this morning. I intend to give Best Buy a call of course. The battery is only 6 months old. Hopefully Best Buy can fix this problem easily

Posted .Our lifetime labor warranty would allow us to perform a parasitic draw test to see where the current is being displaced at. If you're believing the radio is the culprit, our Geek Squad Autotech's should be able to check and remedy the wiring! Call your local Best Buy to reschedule your warranty repair!

They did fit me in, something went wrong when making the appt. but they person couldn't get the back up cam to go to the radio one reason why we bought that radio, now the radio goes out when ever have to stop and turn off the van and back on to get it to come back on. The warning singles for leaving lights on or the turn single, things like that don't work anymore. Will be bringing it back once I get back in town, Tried calling a different place but was on hold for over an hour then while explaining what one happening got hung up on.

FRUSTRATED

I then had an appointment for remote start at the Wilmington NC store & they were supposed to be corrected at that appointment & they were not & now I have to go for a third appointment to the Wilmington NC store which is 75 minutes each way from my house

No service!!!!

I go in to get the stereo installed and the service bay was closed. I give them my information for a service person to call and reschedule and they never called. I check the order status and they say they completed the service. Call and was placed on hold. After 30 mins I finally talked with my second person and during the call they hung up on me.

I will never attempt to use Geek Squad again

I also had purchased a Pioneer AVH-NEX-4200 from Best Buy and since my experience with Geek Squad was so bad, I promptly returned the radio. I wanted to put a Double DIN in my 2000 Ford F-150 Supercab and the Geek Squad member said that it could not be done and it would take him a long time to do this and that the radio would be unable to be removed if he did install it. Along with making the statement that I had not paid enough money for this kind of install. So, I called Freeman's Car Stereo and asked them if it was possible to install this radio and they said it would be no problem at all. They did install it and it was faster than the Geek Squad has ever installed a radio in my car. I will never attempt to use Geek Squad again.

I apologize if you were not satisfied with your experience purchasing In-Dash Installation. Some vehicles do require additional labor and fees as each vehicle has it's own requirements for installation. It appears as though your vehicle may have needed dash modification in order to fit a Double DIN model. As the dash modification would have required a cut in the dash the process sadly would not have been reversible back to factory looks. While I'm disappointed that we weren't able to perform the installation, it's good to see that you were able to find a location that was able to get you in to have it installed.

Bad experience with radio installation

Then, when I called them back to see what time the appointment was, they wouldn't answer the phone and kept sending me to their national answering service. Ridiculous! When I finally came to my appointment (late because the appointment was at 8, even though the store didn't open until 10, which is when I brought it) they told me it was too complicated for them to do it without even more parts. I took it to a local installation place and they got it installed in under 24 hours. Very disappointing.

simple radio upgrade

All I wanted was a new CD player and back up camera for wide car. Order these parts and come in on the 4th and we can complete the free install. When I arrived on the 4th they need an addition 250 dollars for parts and install fee

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had it installed at the Newport News location, they were not well organized at 1st contact, arrived at 1st install appt to find out I needed a different harness than the one they previously approved. When i finally got the install completed they were unaccommodating. The install was incorrect, the DVD did not work on accessory, the radio did not shut off correctly I had to turn it off manually. I have made an appt to correct at a different location.

Still not right & cost me a battery & rental car!

I got there to pick up vehicle & was told my battery was shot. I had never had battery problems before. When I got home to get battery switched my main fuse to vehicle blew & nobody could figure out problem for a week. Backup camera installed only works when it wants to & when you shut truck off camera will continue to power off & on until you unplug it. Box speaker & amp after I found the short in it sound terrible. Viper remote start works ok.

The kit isn’t installed evenly. One side sticks out and the other side is pushed in. One side is down a little and the other side is up. Doesn’t look like a quality job.

Not worth the wait

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.There’s no point in purchasing this option if they won’t be able to install your products in a reasonable amount of time. Purchased my stereo & rear view camera which I had to install on my own as there were no available appointments for the install for over a month. Whether it’s because they don’t carry certain required parts or not, more than a few days (2-3) is too long to wait for an installation, let alone waiting over a month. Especially when I was able to go home, order the required parts that same night, receive them 2 days later & install the whole thing myself for much less than Best Buy is charging. And this is including the additional items.

Bad installs

Almost burning the cars down. Loose wrong and incorrectly installed with wrong type work g even though I paid for wiring and they were never used. Beware of the partially trained techs
