They do a great job!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had many radio installations done by Best Buy over the years and they do a great job just like any other install place. I purchased an Android auto unit and they installed it great with no issues. I love my new unit and I would highly recommend Best Buy to do the install.

Stereo/Nav unit installation in a SUV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gregg (installation guy) was so helpful and really nice to deal with, but unfortunately he did a poor job. I went to Best Buy trusting that a high quality job would be done to realize afterwards some cable connections were not done properly. Hands free and GPS nav voice were not working. I live in Montreal so I went for the day to the store to have my stereo/nav unit installed. I bought a Clarion NX603 as well as an interface so it could work with my Jeep Commander (I didn't buy these at Best Buy). My appointment was at 2:45 PM but they received the car around 3:15 PM. Work was finished around 5:30 PM. Gregg mentioned this was the first time for him to install a Clarion stereo and that as well as the interface I brought, but that with the instructions everything should be fine. We tried out the stereo, CD, radio, Nav (map) and everthing looked good. Just after leaving, I realized something was wrong with the installation as the Nav guided instructions were extremely low as well as the incoming volume for the hands free calls. So I went back, but Gregg told me he did the installation as instructed and that I needed to contact Clarion directly as it was part of their settings. He didn't even bother into see what was wrong. So I left and went back to Montreal, and what a surprise that I went this morning with an installer here to find out that the cables were installed wrongly and had to pay $80.00 for this to be fixed. Now everything works fine. Best Buy charged me $100 installation + $70 for connecting steering wheel controls (I provided everything, including cables) and now I had to pay extra. Extremely disappointed with Best Buy and their service.

Did their best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They did their best but there wasn't a lot of material on how it would work on my 2014 F150.

Incompetence again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a stereo system listed as "Nav Ready" and then scrolled down and saw "Nav Ready" in the description. My failure was not reading the fine print to see that I needed another part to make the Navigation work. The piece required to make the Navigation work costs the same amount as the stereo ($400). When I called and spoke with the Geek Squad representative prior to ordering all of the parts, he named off everything I would need based on my requirements, but did not mention the AVIC-U220 as an INTEGRAL part for Navigation. Also, the Geek Squad installed it incorrectly and now the battery drains if the system is not turned off prior to exiting the vehicle. There is another part to beware of when dealing with the Geek Squad, when they say "around four hours" for the installation, they really mean "we are keeping it for the entire day and not going to call you until we close the shop so you cannot check the installation or make sure that eveything works correctly prior to taking control of your vehicle".

Absolutely frustrated and angry
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to treat my daughter to a new car stereo and backup camera for her VW beetle. She's new to driving, and this is her first car. I was recommended I go to Best Buy, as they do a free radio install if you purchase the stereo from them. When arranging it, I spoke on the phone with a helpful lady who sent me an inventory list of all the things i needed to buy beforehand, which I did. She also areanged my appointment, which didn't go quite so smoothly - I wasn't able to go to any of the Best Buys I usually am in the vicinity of, but she still managed to set me an appointment at one in Lanham, Md, which is about 40 minutes drive. I also was a little surprised that I had to book it almost 7 weeks out, as they were apparently full until then. Either way, I made the appointment and informed my daughter that we would have to wait. The week leading up to the appointment I was sent several reminders via text and email, which I forwarded to my daughter as she was the one driving up there on the day of. They recommended she get there at least 5 minutes ahead of time, but she planned on making it about 15. The morning of, while I was at work, I received a phone call 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment, at 11:15, that there was an "obstacle" - they were doing construction at the Lanham facility, and the person who performs the install was working in Wheaton, Md, and she would have to drive a further hour to have her radio/camera installed. Not only would she have to drive on the DC Beltway for her first time to get there, she would have to face rush hour on the eay back. When I called her, she was 10 minutes from Lanham, so she opted to turn around and just come home, uncomfortable with the extra drive. Why wasn't I notified sooner so I could have planned accordingly? This was SO unprofessional on Best Buy's part, and now I'm stuck with $600 dollars in equipment and no currwnt appointment. When I tried calling back, I was on hold for 10 minutes, bounced between two customer service operators who said there was nothing they could do except forward my call to Wheaton, which I asked to do - to which I got no answer and had to leave a message for which I still have had no response. This is what I get for trusting a big box store, rather than going with a local place to do it.

Satisfactory install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an appradio 4 installed in my car. i got the this unit specifically because it has carplay. geek squad installer guy did not install the usb cable in correct port, so car play didn't work. had to go back and have it made right. to his credit, geek squad guy reinstalled it correctly with no additional cost.

Quick Installation. But...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After being very surprised paying all the "hidden" fees and adapters, I suspect quality work. That night, I realized some of my climate control lights and air condition light now do not light up. I called back the next day, and they said they were busy and can't get me in for 2 weeks. Do they know exactly what they're doing back there? For the price I wasn't pleased with quality of work and having to hassle with taking my vehicle back in.

Great Install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took my car here on a whim not expecting much out of a big box store and I received more than what I was looking for. The install was nearly done and everything works properly. I am pleased with my experience.
