Horrible car audio service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paid $100 for stereo installation. It says in the installment that if they need more hardware to connect it all they will look into that prior to installment. They installed it and didn’t install the steering wheel controls or back up camera. I called and asked why they didn’t install everything correctly and they say it costs $50 extra for button control labor and $50 extra for back up camera installation plus parts. So they’re telling me $200 for installment?! They did not tell me this prior to installment and now I have to go back, drop my car off for 4 hours and pay for another Uber to get home. I asked if they can help with any of the charges due to the inconvenience of having to come back and they never looked into extra parts prior to installment. Manager says nothing they can do and doesn’t care. He was done with the conversation and really rude saying “see you at your appointment” I should have just gone to a mechanic who knows what they’re doing I have no idea why I brought it to geek squad. I have never been so disappointed in customer service. I’m a long time Best Buy customer and pretty done with the company now if they’re so unwilling to help. A mechanic would only charge $60 for all installment “labor”.

no professional knowledge
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coon Rapid Geek Squad installed kenwood multi function car receiver .It took 5 hours to finish and rear view camara function is not automatically when rear gear engaged it. They said original factory equipment is not compatible with after market one. They can't do it automatically, only do manually . I took it to other place and they did rewiring and it works automatically now.( It took only 20 minutes). What a disappointment of Geek Squad!!. They charged me Steering wheel control install 59.99 and Advanced in dash video install 99.99. No value.

Instalation

Ordered it online. At pick-up, i was told to schedule an appointment online. Dont understand why they offer a service they can't provide. Unfortunately, I'll be returning the product.

Took 3 times longer than quoted and did a bad job
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Never mind the fact that it took me several months and calling three different best buy auto bay locations to finally get an appointment. I was quoted 1.5 hours by phone and 1.5 to 2 hours when I got to the shop. I decided to walk around since this levittown NY best buy is in a mall area since 2 hours would be fine to kill time. However, it took nearly 6 hours. And there's a noticeable amount of static whenever my in dash receiver is on and much more static when I connect my iphone to the USB they installed (also the USB only works some times, if you move it in certain directions, it disconnects). I call back the next day to try to get this fixed, and they tell me I need to buy a grounder for more $$$. Not sure I want to waste any more time or money trying to get it fixed here.

Not pleased

If there were, I would highly recommend not purchasing this service. They drag you through the ringer with extra costs, surprise fees and by the end of it a simple $99 instal can turn into a $165 instal. If at all possible I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If you buy a car stereo from them you have to drive 2-3 hours from Gainesville fl to have it done, Lake Mary or Altamont Springs is the closest location. Ocala doesn't do them either. They should reduce the price if you have to drive a distance if Bestbuy can't provide the services local.

Installed incorrectly the 1st time!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a pioneer radio installed but the installer never asked if I had Android Auto or Apple Car Play so he hooked it up to the Apple port but I have Android so they had to tear out the receiver and re-install with the correct port installed. Also, my steering wheel controls are NOT correct and they never adjusted my fader as it needs to be done on a device that is installed behind the radio!!!

Can't even schedule an appointment

Tried to schedule an appointment online and they said I have to call to schedule. I called the number provided 5 times (wait time was between 30-49 minutes each time so I left my number to have them call me back). Each time I was transferred and either hung up on or sent to an automated message that just loops asking for a transfer code. I then tried to contact my local best buy geek squad directly and the phone just kept ringing with no answer. So I tried to contact geek squad through chat. They told me to contact best buy by phone or chat. So I tried to chat with someone at best buy and they tell me to chat with Geek Squad. So it's a never ending loop of incompetence. Not sure I'd trust them with actually installing something if they can't even set up an appointment

Remote Start

The system won't turn off as suppose to do. Open door switch actually lock my doors, they screw up everything. They also the nerve to asked me to come back another day and they will fix it. I had horrible experience with Henderson ,NV Best Buy store. I went to a local shop to get fix, ended paying another $199.00 to get fix.

Terrible

What they don’t tell you is that your bill will come out to like $600 and the process for refunding is awful. Nobody on Tech support knows what they were doing. You’d be better off just going to a mod shop and seeing if they offer a car radio installation.

Worst Service Ever

Only reason I'm giving it 1 star is because I'm not allowed to leave less. They recycled the dash kit and it looks bad - They left one microphone still installed while installing the new one - The GPS antenna is nowhere to be found - and Android Auto does not work because they installed it incorrectly. It was a free installation special - Maybe if I paid....Horrible Service - You are better off getting your install somewhere else.

Car stereo instillation

Car audio installation nightmare!

I had to take my dash apart and fix it myself. He also charged me after the fact for an rcs splitter that i didn't want. He called me several times days after and harassed me while i was at work. I will never get anything done at best buy again.

No Autotech when you need them!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm sorry, I love the geek squad when it comes to giving good advice (Depending on who you talk to or Knowledgeable) when i want to upgrade/build my PC or laptop to when you have warranty by them. But when it comes to adding a car stereo or anything else related to cars...I would love to tell you that I can take my car to my nearby location for an easy install. Guess what!? you can cause they are no where near there the only place to go was near upstate NY....REALLY!? So i'm lead to believe the largest chain for electronics, games, etc don't have a nearby Autotech to install a simple car stereo (which i had to do myself by the way!!) it was kind of unfair but hey now i know.

Unreliable

It never sounded right specially voice without music I hear stactick over the sound. Unable to get warranty work done in a timely manner. Very unfriendly technicians.
