Pioneer - 6.2" - Apple CarPlay installation

Car audio install quick, beautiful job but....

Poor appointment management

Not because of the technician or the job he did but the timing of the job. I was asked to be at my appointment 10 minutes early. Which I was. I rang the bell, no one came nor did anyone bother to come and tell me that my technician would be there right at 10 and it takes him 20 minutes to prep before he can do the job. Essentially due to how appointments are booked 30 minutes of my day was wasted. However if I was say 30 minutes late, no doubt my appointment would have been canceled. A phone call or someone simply letting me know 1. The technician was signing in and it might take a minute. Or 2. His partner was out and he was the only one in the shop would have went a long way. Apparently Best Buy just wants my money and cares less about customer service. There were plenty of people in the store who could have helped the technician out that day with logistics of answering the doorbell.

They setup everything for me (clock, bluetooth settings, etc). They even gave me an overview of how it works. It is great!!!

Planet Audio Nav install

Install not so great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased all the components online for a new multimedia touchscreen radio. Went to Best Buy and got an estimate of $220. Went to them because the install team seemed to know what they were doing when I was shopping (I didn't buy from BB because the sales staff didn't). The estimate was a LOT of money but I wanted to get it done, wanted it done right, and they seemed to know what they were doing. Scheduled the install for the following week. Guys at work said I was out of mind to go there. I insisted it would be okay. The install took less than an hour (they estimated 2) so I stuck around at the store. Gave them my phone number, looked at movies and stuff, got the call they were done. When I went to pay they told me the bill was $260--$40 higher than the estimate. For 1 hour of labor, no parts. I asked why it was higher than the estimate and got some hoohah about how something wasn't added in, that was the cost, yadayada. I put the charge on my BB deferred payment plan but I let them know I wasn't happy about it. There were a couple of things I had asked them to do differently so I figured for $260 it should be as I asked. I called and spoke to the install guy in charge, explained what I wanted fixed, and mentioned that I was not happy about the higher charge. He said he would look into it. I went for the fix; they were pleasant enough and made the changes. When I was checking out I asked about the $40 credit. He told me he could not discount it since I had not bought the items at BB, that they hadn't added in another charge but weren't going to charge me more (what?). I was going to leave it at that but the more I thought about it the more irritated I was. I went back into the store and asked to speak with the manager. He was out so I talked to the second guy in charge. He told me that BB does not give estimates. I told him I had been given an estimate, and if the actual work was going to be more than the estimate I should have received a call. I told him that I thought that $220 was a lot of money for one hour of work but I had not agreed to $260--and was it their expectation that I should agree blindly to whatever charge? He resisted, I persisted. Finally he said they would give me the $40 credit--I'm sure only to get me out of his face. I would definitely NOT go back to BB for any kind of install. It worked out but only because I wouldn't go away until it did. Had I looked around at other install places, I undoubtedly would have gotten a better deal with a whole lot less hassle. Oh well, lesson learned. Hopefully someone else will learn from me.

Works Good

Have an 08 Honda CR-V and it looks like it came from the showroom floor with a video screen stereo. Thanks Geek Squad!
