Thanks to this purchase and the amazing Geek Squad technician who helped, my photos and videos are finally all backed up!!

After finally explaining to a heavily accented voice that I wanted to move into a new iMac from an old one with a scan and removal of any viruses, we agreed on an appointment about two weeks out. I was required to pay in advance for this service. After arranging my schedule to accommodate the appointment, I checked on the appointment the day before and was told by another accented voice that the appointment had been rescheduled, without checking with me, for two weeks later. After much discussion about rescheduling without my input, I cancelled the appointment and asked for a refund. This situation resulted in a month-long delay in using my new computer, plus the the fact that the service was rescheduled without any input from me.

Geek squad transferred from old computer to new Dell. We had a very old computer.

If I could leave a zero I would. Never showed up for the appointment, never called nothing. They were to do a data transfer and printer set up. I called the 800 number about 2 hours after the schedule time and the person I spoke to tried to call the tech got no answer. Said they would contact the supervisor to call me never heard a word. Had to end up going back to the store the next day. After 3 trips to the store I got my computer taken care of.

I was told that my browser, bookmarks, email and addresses, passwords, and photos would transfer. Well below 100GB. I had already payed when the agent said sometimes it works and we'll just have to see. I lost everything except some photos. I had to reenter everything from memory. A waste money and time. Could not get a refund. Highly dissatisfied!

We are beyond disappointed with the Geek Squad transfer of data service. Obviously we hired them because we don't know much about computers. Not all files were transferred to new computer and we lost irreplicable folders and photos. Calls to GS took hours with disappointing results.

Best Buy is just that! THE BEST! They know their computers!
