Hoping Disney re-releases this with a proper 4K encode. The bitrate on the UHD disc ranges from the teens to 30. The compression artifacts on the 4K disc will make you wanna just stick to the standard Blu-ray for now. Only benefit is the DTS mix. The DTS:X can be a bit harsh at times and you might find yourself lowering levels more than your used to. I'll have to double check with my CM-130. Took a star away for the digital copy not being 4K. Redeemed in movies anywhere and it appeared as HD. For future reference or to anyone who bought this before redeeming their digital copy. If the code verifies as HD, then go to foxredeem and select iTunes. Then redeem in iTunes for the 4K port to MA.

I love this movie and hopes there is a 3D version. My daughter and me love this one so much that I actually buy the blue-ray for the fist movie again (I already have the old DVD version) so my daughter and me can watch again - very entertaining!

I remember seeing the first one at the movie theatre with friends. This one was just as good and worth the wait! And I was able to watch it in the comfort of my own home which is how I prefer to see movies now that I'm 20 years older! Haha

This excellent Sci-Fi film was previously available on Blu-Ray but now includes the Special Edition that was last seen when the DVD first came out. I never get tired of seeing this film and watching it on Blu-Ray makes it that much better!

This didn't give me anything new off of the old DVD I had, but I needed it in HD, and the price was right. Great choice is you just want the HD version, and not caring about an expensive collector's edition...this was more than adequate.

Glad to see the "old" move re-released, beefed up a little in the packaging and some of the extras on the disc. Had old banged up version got rid of it to get this one. If a sci fi fan, one of those movies to have in collection, a classic, just a bit dated in some special effects, a little corny and cliche' at times, but what do you expect?

I own the original DVD of ID4 when it first came out. Of course the Blu-Ray version have more details. The extras are pretty much the same except the DVD version had a HBO special. Plus a free movie ticket to see Independence Day: Resurgence.

For those Steelbook collectors, this is one beautiful package. The Blu-ray is the same one that has been issued before but, being that it was high quality in the first place, this isnt an issue.

Bought this movie to watch on July 4th. Is a fun watch, but definitely dated.

Legit 4k and HDR makes this a must re-watch. Check out the extended edition for scenes you may not have seen before. I watched on 120" screen with 4K Projector and this is well worth an upgrade if you only have a DVD version.

This is a really good Will Smith movie. The storyline is very well thought out. The acting by all is well done. I could watch it over and over!! I love it when we beat the aliens!!

Wow, I saw this movie in 1997 on DVD. What a difference 4K makes. The sound effects were excellent. Keep coming with the older movies in 4K

This Independence Day 2 movie is almost as good as the original one. The original one is a little better because of its original storyline. This one was basically a remake with almost the same storyline but overall it was a good movie.

Everytime this movie comes on TV, I HAVE TO STOP AND WATCH IT. No matter what part it is... I'm stuck. I waited for the DVD, then just decided to wait for the Blu-Ray. The transfer holds up well. And the price was hard for me to pass up

Independence movie is definitely a good movie for the family. It has a lot of great graphics and a cool story line bringing back a lot of the original characters from the first Independence Day. I would definitely recommend this movie.

Will Smith at his finest this movie is without a doubt one of my favorites of all time when it comes to alien movies except for the original alien.

Classic movie in a nice looking steel book. There isnt much to say about the movie itself but more about the actual edition. I w9uld recommend this edition to any collector.

The picture looked amazing but honestly not a huge fan of the story. I know it’s a classic but I don’t know. I’ve seen better space invader movies.

Fun SciFi film to watch around the 4th of July. Never mind all the plot holes - at the end of the day, it's a lot of fun and somehow still tugs at your patriotic spirit.
